Xiaomi Mi5 Pro sales starts on April 6, but they will sell only 2,000 units of the device.

It's sad to see MIUI don't have Google Now on tap function.
That's why I never trusted Chinese phones as the android codes  are heavily modified and more often than not 80% resemblance of iOS interface which is a shame.

By the way, you can't install CM either as the bootloader for all xiaomi phones are locked since Mi4.

Agreed. That's why before buying this phone I prepared and joined the miui forum and upgraded to diamond member just to get unlocking acceptance easier.

I thought Xiaomi was known for lower end, good value for money products.

Now, they are chasing the high-end too? Nah, too many players already.

High end with cheap price compared to others is their only way now. Especially with the way they sell their device. They need to improve on their software , quality control & after sale service if want to demand high price.

Huawei is the only chinese manufacturer that seems to going that way.

Hopefully someone will ask about the Mi5 launch in Malaysia, especially in tomorrow RN3 launch event. At least telling customer expected months like they did for RN3.

LYN editor -> please ask for Mi5 ETA date...

Nope.

Xiaomi is supposed to be value for money

For that price, you up and get established brands

Kia and hyundai cannot be same price as Toyota or Honda right
