The camera if compared to last year flagship still behind?

Like S6 , G4 , V10 ?

after i watch the video... my comments...

Mi5 highlights in the video is too much while S7 is ust nice but color is a bit dull... maybe the Auto white balance already push off by software control...
in carpark frame rate of Mi5 isnt that good...
in super market again u can see the color of S7 is not as vibrant as Mi5 and the texture and details is processed to make your face look fairer and smooth...
at the lake side once again the S7 push the brightness control to brighter, while Mi5 is having a darker image...
at the zoom in clearly S7 is using software image sharpening at least they do it... but Mi5 looks horrible coz it is soft...
while during photo S7 shows a lot of details but i see some sharpening effect... but this time Mi5 camera color isnt that vibrant...

camera good or not, is all individual preference... but i agree with what you said...
their processing software isnt that capable...
but with the money i'm ok with the performance...

I owned s6 and g4 for a short while. I can say g4 camera is the best among them. I dono about v10
from the videos that I posted about mi5, I can say mi5 still lose in camera performance compare to s6 and g4

yes, agree, its all about the s/w and algorithm they use
see ipon, camera not very powderful, but their algorithm make the picture come out win everyone.
but now we android have s7

with s6 and g4 dropping price, it is hard to choose the mi5 over them

Yes, did not realise G4 only 1.6k, from 2.2k++

SD808 is good enough, replaceable battery, dual SIM with sd card is very tempting

So if want camera performance last year flagship is still better than Mi5.

But maybe future update will boost the camera performance? Since it's just software side right?

how abt using 3rd party cam apps e.g. Camera MX?

i m using OnePlus One and i got different when using Camera MX.

well hard to say... individual preference... some one want good updates in software and also support...
Last year flagship may not enjoy it anymore... but Mi5 is just this year chipset..
so maybe enjoy more developer to generate its ROM...
but again... see what you want, actually not only SD808, MTK X10 also enough for normal use...

all is user choice of purchase... for me, this few years i always buy phones around RM1000...
maybe Mi5 is the phone which i purchase more than that figure since 3 yrs ago...
midrange phone is good enough for all ppl actually but some ppl like to show off with flagship phones...

i'm not sure as i always stick to stock apps...
it might help, but you must remember the logarithm of the camera is still same...
that is factory flashed, cos all manufacturer got their own say on some settings of the camera..
maybe will some customization on colors and others settings it feels better...

again... i don compare with custom ROM or apps... i always do my comparison base on stock apps...
fair to all ppl coz not all ppl will download and customize the phone...

i think now at some place where u can get it, it might be as high as RM1700 for 3G/32GB ROM

in one month it may be reduced to 1599 kot.. then others try to be competitive and place price at 1550...

Depend...if release here or some news confirm release here sure price drop very much. Can get more low if close to launch. Just look at RN3 Pro now many ap set starting to drop price since April will be official launch.

Read the g4 ,most of the ppl suffer from mobo burn after update to mm, most of the user jump ship after that

The battery life of g4 is below average,and i dont think plastic body of g4 look tempting compared to pretty body of mi5

Sd808 doesnt perform as well if compare to sd820

Mi5: Overexposed, slightly sharper, slightly more details (fur coat), warmer WB (yellower), dropped frames in low light, audio muffled when recorded beside S7 but fine on its own (reason unknown)

Main Cam:
S7: narrower angle, slightly brighter, less details (grass, tree), warmer WB, more wind noise, OIS works video stable, in supermarket WB neutral, max zoom less blurry, low light less saturated & less detailed, flash brighter + whiter WB,

LG has confirmed about the bootloop issue caused by loose connector. Since it's a hardware issue, I guess better to get a different phone.

becuz some ppl dont care what is exposure , wb, noise, theyy just wanna see the picture and how it FEELS lol

agree, have to watch for oneself to decide, my notes are only supplementary

my conclusion: S7:Mi5 = 6:4, 6 times out of 10 I think S7 results are better.
one thing to note is that Mi5 main cam 1080p recording is 15Mbps, lower than S7, yet produces more detail (unzoomed).

Xiaomi's 1080p vid recording has always been lower bitrate than others, my Mi4c is also recording at 15Mbps.

BTW i feel that comparing a 4:3 and 16:9 isnt that fair... the user should put both at the same 4:3 ratio to compare... and the native sensor i think is 4:3 instead of 16:9...
but i do agree that Mi5 lose to S7 in stills quality..
