Samsung price is too high. Can buy a laptop already. Also their battery life cannot match xiaomi (based on Gsmarena).
I like 2 feature of MIUI not found in any ROMs :
(i) the ability to sound the alarm even though phone is off
(ii) able to schedule when to on/off the phone.

other feature
-call record auto in out buildin
-restrict data usage each app

If phone is held by custom prepare to pay rm106 for Sirim permit and another 6% GST based on declared phone value
You need to apply Sirim yourself n pay the GST to courier
All can be easily done online

On aliexpress i found mi 5 64gb black + accessories which is $440 and with DHL courier it takes $12 for 7 day shipping to msia.. it will be around rm1.7k and i never seen any local website has 64gb black with around same price.. they may declare lower price on the courier but its a risk.. buying s7 is another option but its near to a laptop price range

The restrict data usage control, the most favourable feature for me... other than that is lock app... that's all...
I do hope their new MIUI is better, less bloatware which hogs 1.5GB of ram on startup...

Not sure if you're still wondering..
I previously brought Redmi Note 3 directly from Taobao. Through this courier. Pay extra RM25(standard fee la) to declare as sensitive item. Than they will settle for you. At the same time, you can purchase as much sensitive item u suka, but pandai pandai la..

Once item receive, I saw they declare as phone accesories <RM500 so no kena GST. That time I also purchase power bank, mouse + keyboard. icon_rolleyes.gif

True. Online deal will have risk no matter what, cause we can't touch the product our self. My total purchase that time is around 1k plus la.

Yes, however coming from OPO with 64g, i think its adequate. However, I am thinking of future proof (1-2yrs max) and will be going for 128g preferably the black ceramic one. If cheap enough then i will take the white glass version (which is cheaper but no ceramic currently USD489 at ibuyyou vs USD525 for black).

My usual allowable profit is RM100-200, so if the price difference is so much RM500++ (as of now) then I will not consider.

Understnd.. but with low production rate and high demand it is the 'scalpers market' right now. Unless local seller has accsss to Xioami then we have to keep on paying. Sad indeed
