hmmm guys...
why i keep coughing?
last time smoke cough, now vape also cough...
not instant cough after exhale but after awhile,my throat have geli2 feel then cough.
Aside from the throat hit possibility, other potential causes are:
You're not sufficiently hydrated. PG and VG are humectants; they attract and draw moisture from your tissue. Your throat gets irritated by the dryness and you cough as a natural reaction. Drink air kelapa muda...it's one of the better fluids to quickly rehydrate you. If you can't get that, try an oral rehydration salt like Electral Forte, available from pharmacies (I use that myself when needed)...it's cheap..about 50sen a packet plus that damned GST. And simply keep sipping on plain old water thru the day.
If you've recently stopped smoking, your body will be automatically repairing itself. New tissues are being grown and contaminants are being expelled. This transition period will cause you to be more sensitive to vaping for a while; it can be a few months to a few years.
Sensitivity to PG will cause coughing. So will using juices which are too sweet and are heavily dyed. If you don't brew yr own juices, try to switch to a max VG juice that is less sweet and not colored. If you don't mind a slightly diluted flavor, you can add 1 or 2ml of reverse-osmosis water/saline to 30ml commercial juice; the water will help lessen the drying effect. If you have the time, I urge you to look into DIY-ing your own juices; you can then make concoctions which will be less cough-inducing.
This may or may not be a possible cause for coughing: some of the more elderly vapers (ex-smokers) I know (age 55 and up) report that when they switch juices, there's a transition period where they will cough for a while and more phlegm is produced. After that period (ranging from a few hours to 1 day), they're ok as long as they stick to one flavor. I have yet to hear the same thing from younger ex-smoker vapers.
