QUOTE(n8210 @ May 5 2017, 08:58 AM) My connection is so bad, 2 days already still cannot finish this download, ref pic. Is there any sites I can download it with IDM, something that will speed it up. is around 3GB+just download media creation tool and download the ISO is more stable than windows update QUOTE(M1X @ May 5 2017, 12:45 PM) I'm pretty sure the Hotspot toggle option button was available at the action center before. Why it is missing now? o.o in my action center don't have Hotspot button, just access it by type "hotspot" |

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ May 5 2017, 05:24 PM) Can always check under Settings > System > Notifications & Actions > Add or Remove Quick ActionsThere, you can personalize what Quick Action buttons appear. It may depend on your type of WiFi adaptor, since not all adaptors support hotspot feature. This post has been edited by dgboy: May 5 2017, 06:26 PM |

QUOTE(kamikraze @ May 5 2017, 02:14 PM) I'm observing this closely as I'm using laptop, no other button can help me reduce screen brightness. Day and night view require different level of brightness and is very important. i think it's fine now just lack of a reboot. And about the Windows Defender keep showing "!" mark about how I manage my battery. I got 2 alert, 1 for screen brightness is currently set to max(which is not true, only set to 40%), and another 1 is for my sleep mode turned off, infinite. If I keen on the settings, I will need to live with "!" mark as it's will somehow very disturbing. Any work around on this? as for the health report, i think you can just set the laptop to sleep after idling for some minutes while on battery, it should go away. QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ May 5 2017, 10:17 PM) you did the upgrade, not clean install right? no issue here. |

QUOTE(horns @ May 5 2017, 11:59 PM) i think it's fine now just lack of a reboot. Yeah, so far it's fine as long as there's work around to the issue. as for the health report, i think you can just set the laptop to sleep after idling for some minutes while on battery, it should go away. I changed screen brightness to lowest, changed sleep after idling for 2 minutes. The alert didn't turn off automatically, required me to restart to make the ! disappear. Thanks. |

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ May 6 2017, 09:00 AM) you should find a time to do a clean install. frequent forced shutdown is not a good thing for a computer.QUOTE(kamikraze @ May 6 2017, 11:02 AM) Yeah, so far it's fine as long as there's work around to the issue. yeah just adjust accordingly and it will work. hehe a simple restart is not an issue as long as it works.I changed screen brightness to lowest, changed sleep after idling for 2 minutes. The alert didn't turn off automatically, required me to restart to make the ! disappear. Thanks. |

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ May 6 2017, 12:27 PM) nice; it's better to get rid of this annoying behavior asap.QUOTE(kamikraze @ May 6 2017, 01:09 PM) note that one of the things that can trigger this again is the use of ddu (specifically the part that it disables driver updates via wu); well it's not a big deal to me so i just ignore it hehe-- for all, besides the official ms download page using media creation tool, there are places where i download isos (they're not just for w10; they include older os/ms.office as well) afaik, files downloaded from the list are good (remember to do a checksum comparison to make sure they're untouched, i.e. the checksums, e.g. sha1, of isos must match exactly with the ones published at ms; you can look them up with search engines) 1. https://tb.rg-adguard.net/ 2. https://heidoc.net/joomla/technology-scienc...o-download-tool note that the checksums of iso files downloaded from these places are not the same as the ones from media creation tool (due to methods and formats used in different distribution channels, resulting in difference in checksums), but basically they're the same, distributed from official services from ms. |

QUOTE(gogoshop @ May 7 2017, 10:04 PM) if you didn't notice anything different, most probably you don't need them. if you're really interested in the differences, there has been a lot of reports / reviews / videos about w10's latest, such as this one, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wh...10-version-1703 (for comparisons you might wanna go here, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/whats-new/index)This post has been edited by horns: May 7 2017, 10:51 PM |

Will I get free licence (product key) if i upgrade to this assisitive ver? however for some reasons, you can still activate w10 with old but legit keys. note that the risk is potential deactivation, because if you do it now the record in ms server will show that yours get activated after the valid free upgrade period. alternatively, yeah, you can get it via the free upgrade program for customers who use assistive technologies. you don't get any product key. the upgrade is licensed via digital entitlement. |

off-topic: not sure why this was not reported here. it's been many days since its first report. details of how to exploit this vulnerability are now public.
https://newsroom.intel.com/news/important-s...ility-firmware/ https://security-center.intel.com/advisory....anguageid=en-fr tl;dr: - download this intel discovery tool and check your system for the potential vuln. However somehow I compare my new laptop (currently anniversay update ver). It is slightly different from assistive technology. My next ques is it any external link to download the iso file (assistive ver)? It is kinda slow if I format my old laptop, need to redownload the assistive version by this screamyx line. Any suggestion or advice? |
