glad to hear it  rclxms.gif

try to use balanced on your power plan

try Process Explorer to observe which one suspicious

Normally I set as normal for the power plan.
However for the Process Explorer, any difference between origin "Task Manager"?
Currently Win10 task manager can see the chart, which process run very high usage, but not so much detail.

no w10 supports both.

btw you can always download the 1607 iso and apply upgrade yourself without waiting.
*
Ok, thanks a lot.
So far not much different, just improve the windows system security and additional features.. rolleyes.gif
But I don't think I will upgrade it by myself unless it's been force by windows (due to windows update) laugh.gif

Hi guy, do you know why windows 10 anniversary version quite a lot of partition for "RECOVERY" file?

It created almost 4 or 5 RECOVERY partition file which I never see before? Can I format for this partition? Is it any impact for the system and other things?

P.S: Don't worry, I already backup some important file.

dont set auto backup, change to manual backup or if youre still want it to be auto then make sure the file keep on override the old one.
*
How to change to manual backup? Have any instructions for me? icon_question.gif
I don't plan to set it auto, prefer manual backup in first time..

QUOTE(horns @ Dec 12 2016, 10:54 AM)
i think you did os upgrades instead of clean installs, without wiping all partitions. for clean installs with iso files downloaded from ms on a clean drive, you only get one recovery partition.

you can try use third party partition tools for this (acronis; macrium reflect; aomei; or others); but usually messing with these partitions is risky without knowing which recovery partition is currently linked to your os. you might end up wiping all partitions and doing a clean install.
*
Yes, previously I got use Acronis TrueImage before, but end up more mess inside the files does not properly clean recovery like new PC set up.. doh.gif
I did upgrade my own previously (1st time) from Microsoft Windows 8.1 > Windows 10
And then 2nd time upgrade from Windows 10 > Windows 10 Anniversary

3rd time when I want to clean install format partition C drive, discovered so many RECOVERY partition inside the hardisc.. ohmy.gif
Plan to format including the RECOVERY partition as I have manual backup already, but I don't dare to format it as it might affect system drive (something like that) unsure.gif

So is it can direct format the RECOVERY partition? Any affect for it?

QUOTE(horns @ Dec 12 2016, 02:03 PM)
yeah with those upgrades there were many recovery partitions created.

you should try DellMalaysia's steps to see if it work first. if it's not working, you can try a clean install.

tbh it's not hard to perform a clean install. a lot of people failed because they don't prepare enough for the worst. also, the more you know about your computer the better. as long as you have backed all your data up, and have a working usb-based w10 installer. a working set of drivers are handy too, especially network-related drivers. the safest way to do it is to unplug all other data drives first, except the one housing os. if your system is a single-drive, then you can just proceed. the key thing to do during installation is to remove all partitions from your system drive first, and let the os installer to create new ones for you. (for the partition cleanup, the better way is to use diskpart; but this is only useful if you are familiar with command prompt) since your w10 already has digital entitlement because of upgrade you can skip any place that ask for product keys.
*
Normally, we plan use the traditional way by using recovery system restore back from my previous backup file.
This method is much more easily for us because we not need to key-in the product key for the Windows and Office. Furthermore, all the minor setting (such as User Account password, Theme Wallpaper been set up already)..

But we discovered that this Windows 10 unable to system restore, it showed something like "Windows Recovery Environment" is still currently run. doh.gif We have go through by "msconfig" to turn off windows recovery environment, but nothing button to click to turn off this setting.. At the end, use the CD to clean install the Windows 10 by manually key-in product key of windows, reset up those setting themes, pictures, drivers and so on... Kinda very troublesome and waste the time set up of this.. shakehead.gif

yes, restores from system backups are much more convenient, provided that you have a copy of system backup created from a clean-installed os. (which is the cleanest, and the least problematic during restores; you can create one after driver installs and applying all tweaks)

are you restoring the system with a clean boot from w10 installer usb/dvd? by right you will not encounter such messages as something is in use if you boot from the w10 installer.
*
First time, I plan to restore the system file from D drive (backup file) to C Drive Windows file, but it keep fail mentioned that Windows Recovery Environment is currently off. Don't know what the hell is this, causing one time off been FORCE use CD windows to clean install it.

By the way, I have encountered this Recovery partition created a lot of space as below:-

Attached Image

However, there is no way to format it by right click button of the mouse.
Do you have any idea about this? Is it will encountered system error if I format this partition? icon_question.gif

no wonder; that's how you failed to do it. as the message implied, you cannot do system recovery while still in windows. you need to boot the computer up with w10 installer disc/usb to proceed.

yes they were created by previous upgrades. (one at a time; for some reasons w10 doesn't reuse the existing recovery partition) this is also why i suggest clean installs instead of upgrades, because that's what you got when you did upgrades.

i am not familiar with restoring recovery partition properly sorry. i think it's possible but i have no idea how to do that.
*
Yes, we try to boot the computer and directly enter to the windows system recovery, but still unable to recovery through the D drive.
Is it there is no way to recovery through the D drive and compulsory use with w10 installer disc/USB to proceed?

Hi guy, just want to listen your advice and opinion based on the new Windows 10..

My HP desktop has only 1 unit HDD which separate partition into C Drive (normally is OS Windows system file), D Drive (HP Original RECOVERY system which is Win7 Professional OEM) and E Drive (Additional partition which put my documents file).

Currently has been upgraded Windows 10 (previously Win7) and I want to format the PC. If I go to Setting there and click "RESET the PC". Will this affect and erase all the contains inside of my D Drive (HP Recovery) and also E drive file inside?

Furthermore if just RESET the PC, is it just remove all the applications and software ONLY affect in C Drive only?

officially, no. you missed it already.

however for some reasons, you can still activate w10 with old but legit keys. note that the risk is potential deactivation, because if you do it now the record in ms server will show that yours get activated after the valid free upgrade period.

alternatively, yeah, you can get it via the free upgrade program for customers who use assistive technologies. you don't get any product key. the upgrade is licensed via digital entitlement.
*
Yeah, I just upgrade to windows 10 from my old laptop, and free activate win10 with assistive technology.

However somehow I compare my new laptop (currently anniversay update ver). It is slightly different from assistive technology.

My next ques is it any external link to download the iso file (assistive ver)?

It is kinda slow if I format my old laptop, need to redownload the assistive version by this screamyx line.

Any suggestion or advice?

actually they are basically the same.

there are differences between the latest w10 and w10 anniversary update.  maybe that's why you have the impression that they are different.

the fastest and safest way to download w10 official isos is via ms.
*
If I m mot mistake, there is no iso file for assistive version from Microsoft official website.

maybe i'm not clear enough sorry; whether you get w10 upgrade via the previous w10 free upgrade program, or via the special free upgrade program for consumers that use assistive technologies, you get the same iso files. there is no special version for w10 with assistive technologies.
*
QUOTE(ajax91 @ May 10 2017, 10:29 AM)
just download the normal version iso file will do

My focus point is to get free product key.. Hehe..
Ok, will try to use normal ISO file for win10.

Thanks a lot for your expert advice.
