Question: how much different/better would it be using the ACE48 or the 1ZPresso Q compared to the Hario Mini Mill (my hand grinder for now)? Lately I've gravitated towards using the Mini Mill than my electric grinder. Somehow I think it gives me better clarity & flavour.

Need some opinion on a new electric grinder:-
I currently have the Mazzer Super Jolly for my espresso, i am in the  lookout for a relatively good grinder(cafe-ishQuality) for making  pour over.

I had breville smart grinder as my 1st grinder, it sux to the max core, gear  stripped after about 1 yr ++, and a spare one in my office also broke down. If may be a good-ish grinder but quality is terrible &  u cant get individual part replacement for it.

Anyway, also had the Rancillio Rocky; sold it to upgrade to the MAzzer,  so now im looking  for another grinder just for pour over/chemex/syphon

Ive been doing my readups, sayin that hand grinder makes exponentially better pour overs, comparing the electric grinder? So whats the electric version equivalent of the highly recommended commandante & kinu?

ek43 over my  budget, is that what all/most cafe use for  their pour over.

Yes, i agree on the China made, though I am currently owned the Comandante. Price/value go for China made steel burr.

Doesn't the Mazzer SJ run pretty loud? But I guess if that's ok for you then it's a non-issue

Yes despite the kg89 being convenient and fast,it still doesn't grind consistent enough for a good espresso.Yesterday I tried to use back the basic ceramic burr grinder that I had been using and to my surprise the grind was far more consistent /finer than the kg89 and the shot didnt came out bitter as it did...maybe the kg89 just a bad grinder/investment...lol.any suggestion for a bang for buck grinder that does the job right? Online searches only show models that  barely seen/sells here locally.

How bout the breville smart grinder pro or non smart ver?

For French Press, the grind is coarse... what about the amount of coffee? mine's a bodum french press 4 cups

Had the second-hand grinder for about 1 year and was inform that the burrs was change recently.

I understand what you mean. Going for premium brands like Lido or Comandante makes the grinder itself RM 1000. However "budget" or entry level brands like the Hario Slim or even Skerton are not good enough. In an ideal world, I would be using the ROK or the Flair or even the La Marzono paired with a Helios or Aergrind however at the moment I can only afford baby steps. And to cut cost, I plan to do everything manually.

I suppose you are very happy with your 1Zpresso Z Pro, and I hope the quality trickles down to their more budget models.

I just spoke to the 1Zpresso team on their FB and received a very friendly customer service. They recommended me to get the Q series grinder+ the Y3.3, which total would be around RM 500 ish. They said the Q series grinder can grind fine enough for their Y3.3 to make good shots.

After speaking with them I am leaning more towards their suggestion.
