Hey guys is the build quality good?

my sim card is standard microsim that can be fit to nano sim. I just watched video on YouTube some info guy do it. Use lighter 1-2seconds method and just carefully kepak that plastic shell sim. The chip is thin enough to fit, you just have to use double sided tape on both end of the sim card, because the main chip itself bulge in the middle.

I am really interested with this phone, my only concern is its durability. Found somebody did a bend test on the mi5 and it cracked almost 90 degrees so easily. This is the video of the bend and some other tests.

This guy has done the same test on more than 20 phones and only 3 failed the bend test including mi5, catastrophically at that too. Considering mi5 is their flagship phone, I would assume other models have at least the same or less structure integrity. I need a cheap, with good batterty life and durable phone, redmi 3 was the best choice until I watched the video above. Somebody has ever teared it down and see the insides? or better yet try bending his own phone ?

Somebody did a teardown video of the phone and towards the end you can see back of the screen which may tell how well the phone holds up.

If someone can comment on the durability of the phone from the video above, that would be great.

Guys,i just received sms approval for unlocking bootloader,i oredi follow the guide to uncloking including the one that we need to use tunnelbear vpn,but i got error saying that my account is not the same with the device,so the unlocking process failed...any idea why?

On stable or dev ROM?

I believe i flash 7.1.3 from greatslon. Why? Is that the reason it got error? If yes then what should i do?

flash developer rom, stable rom got high chances fail at 50% unlock.

redmi 3 only got china stable/developer ..so flash the developer rom..login both redmi 3 and unlocked under the same mi account, makesure the phone sync to the mi servers first, then turn off the turn, go into fastboot and use the mi unlock tool to unlock the bootloader.

about 40++ degree. not that hot but 'warmish' when playing vainglory(game)/benchmark

The metal body kind of amplify the heat..
I experience it when playing games during my time with vendor rom..
Not sure what the difference with this new rom..

from what i can see, (and tested), stock/vendor/kedai rom the thermal limit for cpu is 1.497Ghz, while on swing rom/grelson? the limit im not sure but it is throtled to 1.2ghz or so/800mhz. this causes antutu to be in 20-25k range, while 1.5ghz thermal limit yields 30-35k. (i only tested on locked bootloader rom though)

I think ones expectation should be in line with the price.

Unlike the S7 for example, theres no real internal frame so to speak while the S7 has aluminum center frame of considerablr thickness.

The screw boss are also just plastic whereas the S7 has steel in the aluminum boss thats part of the frame.

Im guessing the redmi is just relying on the battery for its rigidity. The aluminum back is more decorative then structural.
