Long story short, able to boot to download mode, install miflash tool and other necessary driver and cerrently on v7.1.2.0 eu stable. Play store ready and no chinese bloatware.

I would recommend others to try.

Does anyone know how to set the PIN so it could take more than 4 digits? I find this limitation is very annoying as other brands doesn't have this sort of stupid limitation. And I don't feel like to use password as a workaround as it will pop the keyboard up instead of the normal keypad when unlocking the phone.

This is my first Xiaomi and I just hate the apps that come with it. Heck, even the battery management software comes with a lot of built-in advertisements and to top it off, it is just a free version of a paid apps, which means it will reminding you to buy a full version. WTF is Xiaomi doing?
*
Because you bought something that isn't original default MIUI ROM by Xiaomi, instead is Vendor ROM that came with PlayStore and some other sponsored Apps.
Official ROM by Xiaomi have no bullsht advertisement on those bloatware apps.

There are 4 version of Official ROM.
- China Stable
- China Developer
- Global Stable (Not available yet)
- Global Developer (Not available yet)

Global Stable/Developer come with PlayStore/Google Services but the Redmi 3 is not yet launch on Globally. So it won't be able to have it until they launch it.

China Stable/Developer are official ROM for China market, problem is it doesn't default come with PlayStore/Google Services.

How come it's called EU when the only available ROM is the Chinese version?

That's why i never recommend people to buy xiaomi phones. Most of them bought the China version and realize no Google services installed or came with an unstable build

Can I install it using the built-in upgrade apps?

Seems like a Vietnamese Forum instead of EU.
