I think he means adjusting the height of the pickups.

Distance of pickups to the strings can produce different type of sounds.

If you pay attention to your pickups, their heights are different and the bridge pickup is a bit slanted to one direction.

If you're the adventurous type maybe you can make your own pickups. thumbup.gif

I think i'll settle with adjusting the string action/height instead should a need come one day.

You can buy one and drill holes yourself to install it, or just use some double sided tape to keep it on.

Either that or get some cardboard, real cheap, cut out the shape of a pickguard and use thin double sided tapes and stick it on. thumbup.gif

that's the famous humssssss or buzz you get with SSS pickups, or guitars without humbuckers (pair magnet opposite)

Try playing away from the computer/TV. Certain electronics can cause interference.
use a non-fluorescent light in your room. biggrin.gif

Use an AVR with proper grounding.

Make sure you're grounded too, remove the damn carpet. tongue.gif

Finally, read this. http://www.neelyguitars.com/Pickups.html

if you're adventurous, rewire your guitar.

oh shiat. so thats the famous hums and buzz eh. hmmm.. gonna try this one.

'flip the polarity of the center pickups on Strat-style guitars so the two combination settings of the 5 way switch (neck + middle & middle + bridge) become very effective humbucking positions.'

which means, i just need to swap the wires of the center pickup, right?

emg's are active pickups,(depending on which series) and if im not mistaken, blacktrix's series needs a battery to power the pickups am i right? I've an emg 81, and everytime i leave the guitar alone after playing it the pickups gives out feedback that can pierce your ears. I dont really know about blacktrix's case, but i think we both know how emg's are like. Everdying should know about this as well biggrin.gif

weird, my EMG's dont have feedback.
i had feedback previously, but that was traced to a bad cable.

so yea, check your other sources to see whats causing it.
one reason why ppl use EMGs is cos its not noisy at very high gain settings.

if u want feedbacks, just position ur pickups straight into ur amp...but i heard that will damage the amp...i've tried a few times, but my amp still alive and doing well...
