Xperia L and Z5c will have wide difference in term of performance. I'm using z5p, no problem yet
Any issue with your Z2? Sometimes buy phone is depending on luck one. I faced overheat once during I taking photo under hot sun around 12PM. Around 5 minutes warning up. 8 minutes like that forced close. Phone feel super super hot. Go back to my car enjoy aircond and take off my leather flip case. Continue again, better this round. From that day onwards, no more flip case for my z5p.

So what casing are you using that Z5P won't overheat easily?

Nilkin transparent tpu is ok but will turn yellow. I choose IMAK transparent recently and paste screen protector on casing to avoid scratches. No overheat even I playing GTA or mhl connected to TV.

Don't do that. There's risk of cracking the back glass.

I asked this question a while back. In the end, I identified the issue from my lockscreen widget. Everytime I use the widget to lock screen, that issue happens.

The main "problem" comes back to the Smart Lock feature. Everytime it "hard-locks", you'll need to type pin regardless of fingerprint. So 2 ways to solve:

1) Set your frequent locations as trusted locations in Smart Lock in settings
2) Use the power button to lock and unlock instead of software lock like widgets.

I tinkered around with smart lock to no evident solution. Guess it's the nova launcher double tap to lock.
