send it for them to diagnose, it only takes a few hours and you can bring it back with you.
wait for them to order the part, then once part arrives, bring your laptop to them for screen replacement, takes only 1 day.
send it in the morning and you should be able to get it back in the afternoon/evening
this way would minimise impact on your productivity

Now, this woud be ideal. Thanks for the heads up. Probably need to go straight to the service centre rather than the dealers/agents. thumbsup.gif

Looks legit, i would only do cod and test out the unit before committing anything.

Quite a lot of savings here.

Bro let me know how its done. I am also interested with thes type of covering especially from www.dbrand.com . The red/blue/black carbon look really sic on an iPhone and Macbook pro. I really wonder whether how difficult it is to apply these sort of coverings.

I couldn't eject my external HDD every time. Any solutions? Seagate 1tb

There must be an app that is still linked to your hard drive. Also it could be an open file etc. Did you try to see in the 'Force Quit' menu?

Also does this issue happens on a particular usb or on all usb ports?

wanna ask all sifus here.

what if i buy a grey imported US set of macbook pro from a local dealer here? (non authorised apple dealer)

- will the warranty still be accepted by apple malaysia?
if comes with international warranty, apple M'sia should honour it.

- what's covered and what's not? shall i buy applecare as well? (even assuming the warranty is still new starting from the day i purchase?)
apple care can buy in Malaysia, so long its got registered int' warranty.

- what happens to the pin plug? as it comes with US does it mean i have to buy my own?
unfortunately, its the 2 pin version. But power adapter can run 110-240V.

I based the above on my own experience of buying an ipad from California, US. Fortunately, I did not have to claim any warranty as the ipad have no issues.

thanks for your input

Does anyone has a problem with wifi? Wifi icon shows you are connected but cant go online. need to turn off and on back again every time it happens. This thing has been going on frequently lately. connected to 5ghz network.

using rMBP 15" mid 14
*
Yes, lately happening 4 or 5 times.

QUOTE(remix2040 @ Sep 27 2016, 01:09 PM)
You on Sierra? Ive been experiencing the same. Don't think this happened on EC tho
*
Prior to Sierra no such issue also.

QUOTE(remix2040 @ Sep 27 2016, 01:27 PM)
I always have this issue of "Unable to connect to "My SSID" but when I connect it the second time. It works
*
Then the last 3 times it happens, i got my ip6+ and ipad to check and indeed it not isolated to rmbp, but also to my ip6+ and iPad when using same network. Its in fact the service that is dropping unfortunately. BTW i am using maxis fiber home network.

confirmed it is for new macbook pro and macbook air. already got rumours on this. hopefully other outdated mac like mac mini, imac, mac pro etc all will receive update as well.

i hope there is a new mac mini 5 update also.  biggrin.gif

Cool, just the right timing. Current rmbp is 2.2years old and I skipped 1 generation. Hope its sleek and sexy and come with many flavours. A gunmetal shade wouldnt be half bad. rclxms.gif

Safari keeps on crashing on Facebook. anyone having the same problems? and sometimes can't load certain websites but google chrome can load. macOS sierra
*
If you haven't tried.

Switch off all extensions in safari. Then on 1 by 1 and check for the useability. If it crashes, then you will knw the culprit.

and/or check for any updates in app store.

When I upgraded mine to sierra, got the same issue, it was one of my extensions that I installed for Facebook. Now its all good after determining the rogue extension app.

this coming friday midnight we will know.  tongue.gif

we will never know how apple may 'surprise' us.  biggrin.gif

space grey is actually a very nice color, even they retain it. I will be more than happy.

yes, in any case, no matter if there is any colour options, even it has only the boring silver, i will still get the rMBP. had been waited for more than 1 year already.

most importantly, this generation of rMBP will have major changes, so it will be good to get it also.
*
I am with you bro. janji other colour than the standard silver, I am good. rclxms.gif

Apple releases macOS Sierra 10.12.1! biggrin.gif

Ahh cool, looks like they are addressing the issue with mail with microsoft exchange servers. Initially I though that its my unit thats acting up. Its really funny though, whenever I am at the office using the office wifi, I can't update mail, but when I am at home with fibre net, or at the office using my iphone maxis or elsewhere, no issue, like normal.

Well, I'll know soon whether th update can fix it back to normal. blush.gif

I really am not quite looking forward to the USB-C ports, nor the unavailability of my headphone jack! What's rMBP? You been waiting an entire year? Ah well, guess my 2 month wait wasn't that long after all.  But, mine is a pertinent need, not want tongue.gif  I don't even have a proper computer to get online but I guess if I kinda got used to my office issued Dell for now.

doh.gif

ahhoe80
I don't really care about that illumination; it looks nice but frankly, I'm always looking the other way and it's not going to affect performance (and if it does, it's for the better!] so this not-so-functional change is acceptable to me smile.gif
*
I hope the prices are maintained. I still remember the time I got my rmbp in 2014 for RM4799. Then the next gen came out and the prices went rocketing high bangwall.gif
