QUOTE(remix2040 @ Apr 24 2016, 06:26 PM) That's what I did when I f*cked up my EC beta channel updates. Lost 5 years worth of memories in one library. I think you can. If I'm not mistaken, you initiate a wipe for your drive and just plug in the EC USB bootable drive and just install it from there on. Great tip! Although, i've never failed to Time Machine ever since I started using a Mac, so I guess i'm sorta covered there. Quick tip. If you're on the beta channel for OS X updates, DO NOT downgrade. Stay on the same build and unenrolll yourself from the beta channel and wait for a public release. You will experience crash in Photos Library that cannot be recovered. Not even a time machine backup can bring you back. |

QUOTE(PPZ @ Apr 25 2016, 08:31 AM) ahhh.. even i dont format my computer, i still can install El Capitan right? I scare my MBP (2010 version) run slow on that software. Yes you can. You can download the "Install El Capitan" from the App Store and follow the link here and just shut down your Mac and boot it up in recovery and install it to the same partition you're trying to upgrade. |

If u are buying MacBook, 2016 version just out, u can grab it, base model rm5289 hat meets ur budget, alternative the RM6480 m5 model is also a better machine. As a normal user, it should more than sufficient for u.Now im looking for macbook air or MacBook pro, if budget 6k+, which one is good move (or MacBook too?) Just normal office use and planning use at least 2-3years. If buy now Izzit worth? Wwdc 2016 will release new model? Thank you The MacBook and MacBook pro price is very close between the 256gb model. U get a lot more power but lose out in the look and design and weight. But MacBook pro should get a redesign this year so if u prefer MacBook pro more just wait for it. No one knows the release date actually. But most ppl hope for the WDC in June. Since it is not too far away, no harm waiting. But u will need to prepare to really wait as apple's move is never easy to predict.Btw, not much ppl discuss about MacBook air? And I heard that apple planning stop produce or release new model of MacBook air? Izzit true? Thanks If u need a MacBook urgently, have a second plan too. MacBook air has the poorest display as of now.if not due to the low cost, think not much ppl will choose air. MacBook pro has better display and better spec everything except weight. Hope they remove the air line and just keep the MacBook and MacBook pro. And also make the MacBook pro light as air but retain its power. Apple is said to kill off the Air line. The MacBook is the clear choice in terms on looks and feasibility. You want retina display? The MacBook. You want light and easy? The Macbook. You want other colors besides the boring old silver like the billion other MBA and MBP? The MacBook is your choice. However, the only thing you're giving up. Is the performance. Core M vs Core i5. Btw, not much ppl discuss about MacBook air? And I heard that apple planning stop produce or release new model of MacBook air? Izzit true? Thanks Most would say only one USB C is a deal breaker. But I don't see it. I see it as a godsend. I have a Nexus 6P and it comes with a USB C port. I can just plug my phone straight in with a C to C cable. I don't mind carrying an adapter to expand my ports. For the weight and size reduction, I see it as a good trade off. |

QUOTE(takenaga @ Jan 13 2016, 05:49 PM) hello guys. new macbook pro user here! 1. I think it's safe because I had used my MacBook Pro for 2 years with some cracked app and it still working fine so far, im getting a good experience with this sexy thing. from the very start of booting my macbook, i already amazed with its speed. damn weh 3 seconds to get into login. not gonna happen in Windows platform. haha Casual usage like web browsing, watching movies, listening to music while doing my work, are quite smooth. Later I will try how this macbook handle development tools and adobe stuff like android studio, localhost, photoshop, AI, etc. as a new macbook user, there are couple of things that i want to know: 1. is it safe if I installed cracked apps? (appdn.net, cmacapps.com, macbed.com) 2. Do I need any antivirus software installed on my macbook? 3. Is it a must to install utility, optimizer apps like cleanmymac? 4. should i buy applecare? is it worth it? I have googled those questions. just want to know opinions from you guys too. 2. No need 3. Not a must but cleanmymac really a good tool to clear those cache or trash from ur Mac since we all know the storage on our Mac are very limited. I clean it once a month. 4. Apple care is a must, seriously. I had an experience where my original adapter cord is torn and I still able to claim back a new one under Apple care warranty. Some money is worth paying. My uncle is working in Apple service Singapore and he told me that repairing a screen is very expensive so please Apple care |
