This probably has been discussed before, the warranty of my wife mbp 13 retina has just expired and I just found out that some parts of her screen has some coating damage. I have no idea why she didn't tell me, she said it was okay for her. Anyway, checking the internet, it seems to be a common problem on some batches. Has anybody with the same problem with expired warranty successfully ask for it to be fixes foc?

Here is how it looks, for me it is pretty bad, for he it is okay

for this, you don't need warranty to get the screen replaced

Thanks, going to bring this to Machine KLCC and see if they could get it replaced.

You can replace it for free as long as it is within 3 years of its purchase date.

The real question is - how long can your wife live without the Macbook?

I went to Machines MV and waited 3.5 weeks to get mine back. 10 working days for the initial diagnosis (wtf?!) and about 7 working days for parts arrival and repair.

AASP's in Malaysia suck. They have some ways to go to match the turnaround times of the west.

Ouch, 3.5 weeks? I'll try VR Tech then, they've been very prompt with their service before. A week turnaround when I had problem with my previous MBP. Will it speed up the process if I call up Apple first and get my incident number?

Yes, early 2015 version. My daughter has the same model, bought almost the same time but doesn't have this problem.

I got a late 2015 model. No such problem also.

Please do not used wet tissue for wipe it over.
Those alcohol can be easily damage the screen external coating.
Use plain water with micro fiber cloths clean the screen should not an issue.

There is no late 2015 model. Same model actually u just bought it later.

Yeah. I mean late 2015 I bought it. Might be different manufacture period. The model and design it's the same

I think I will not be able to confirm until if u try to wipe with alcohol or any other kind of chemical content water.

If wipe with chemical then should be harmed the screen

Those who got the damaged is due to the fact that they are not just using plain water and cloth but with others.

So if urs is not damaged may not mean it is different in screen just u did not try it.

i not even dare to try any chemicals..

just wipe with dry cloth will do.
