Hi sifu, i am considering these two model
1) Acer Aspire E5-574G-50W9/52UX/54DV, or
2) Dell Inspiron 5559-20414G

which one should you  recommend?

Dell Inspiron 5559-20414G - Intel Core i5-6200U 4GB 1TB AMD R5 M335 4GB 15.6" W10,2 yrs onsite warranty , RM 2,849.00 (Normal price)

Acer Aspire E5-574G-50W9/52UX/54DV - Intel Core i5-6200 4GB 1TB Nvidia GT920M 2GB 15.6" W10 ,3yrs warranty, RM 2199.00 (Normal price)
*
i'll pick acer. remaining money can buy ram. extra. 4gb ram is min requirement for win10. + 3 yrs warranty is good deal. specs more or less the same.

make sure you check review either to find feedback from user. and possibility can find problems commonly happen to certain model nod.gif

Hi, I am looking for a portable (and not too heavy) laptop for work use and some light gaming (FIFA and Dota 2 mostly, if possible Witcher 3 on low settings?)

I am waiting for the Razer Blade Stealth with the Razer Core but that will take a while. Will the ULV processor bottleneck the external GPU very much?

I was also looking at Gigabyte P34 models.

Are there any other recommendations?

Budget is about RM 6000.

Thank you
*
huge budget you get there.

ULV processor will bottleneck external gpu due to low voltage consume.
CPU will actually bottleneck the GPU.

try check this

Hi guys ivze a budget around 2k usd

Wanting to get a laptop light weighted.

Ive been looking into x1carbon lenovo 2016(soon to be onsale) or the current xps15 9550 model.

Cant really decide which one to go into. Especially in reliability and after sales. I heard xps15 has alot of bad lemons and etc. while i heard lenovo after sales is not that good (always no parts and delay)

Hope any sifu here can advice

even though the issue was fix. but its kinda troublesome with wasting time to fix the issue itself. cz, time is very crucial for certain people and its very valuable.

think avoid xps 15 for time being nod.gif

Appreciate if can help recommend 2 different Notebooks for below:

Notebook 1:
1. Preferred Brand: Need something that is durable. User tends to be very rough with his stuff. Previous computer a Lenovo that has been through hell and back and survived the past 4 years (although with some keyboard buttons missing). Hope to get similar mileage from the new computer.
2. Budget: 3k (can go up to 3.5k)
3. Usage: movies, facebook, youtube, DOTA, gaming. Would like to get notebook with fast performance
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15" (can consider slightly bigger if got good recommendation)
5. Other preference:
a. Good battery life.
b. Good sound
c. No heating issues.
d. Easy to get repair support
Notebook 2:
1. Preferred Brand: any brand that is good quality, for lady user. had good experience with Asus. No Acer. Must be low maintenance.
2. Budget: ~2.5k
3. Usage: mainly movies - need good sound, surfing
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14"~15"
5. Other preference:
a. Lightweight
b. Good battery life
c. No heating issues
d. SSD preferred (but would like min 512gb if possible)
e. SD Card slot

Thank you so much!!
*
reminder : no matter how good the laptop is, if "User tends to be very rough with his stuff." this very cheap up to 10k laptop also useless. i dont expect it will survive until 2nd year...
notebook 1 : best option out there is dell 7559.

notebook 2 : 2.5k with min 512gb ssd? or hdd? if its ssd. no option.

can get Asus A455LF-WX063T / Asus A555LF-XX135T / Dell Vostro 14 V5459-1045SG

Hi all! Please help me decide between Dell Inspiron 15 7559  (i5 6300) vs Lenovo Y50 70 ( i7 4720 ). Thanks!
*
dell have slimmer build, better graphic card, quad core i5.
maybe you might want choose dell coz dell offer better service after sales than lenovo

lenovo still have haswell architecture i7 which is predecessor processor before skylake on dell.

Hi guys,

For student, which notebook model best for under budget RM2500?

Mostly surf internet, some media (youtube, videos, music) and light gaming only. Female user, not too heavy in weight.

Prefer Asus.

Thanks! rclxms.gif

try check this

Asus A456UF-WF032T i5-6200U, GT930m, 14" 4GB on BD, 1TB, W10

Asus K401UB-FR011T i5-6200U, GT940m, 14" FHD 4GB on BD, 1TB, W10, 1.65kg, no ODD*

if does not need optical disk drive. K401UB is much better.

Unless than person is a gorilla than the only choice would be one of those Panasonic Toughbook laptops or custom made laptops for rugged conditions used by people in the mining, geological and research sector.

The only downside other than the asking price would be these kind of laptops normally weight at least a few kilos and simply not a joy for the average person to transport around.

laugh.gif dell have those lineup for aggresive use too.. but.. good thing is.... if i not mistaken... can use in jungle

Hey guys,

Just wondering, which laptop should I get with a budget of less than RM2.5k?

Criteria:
- Light (maybe less than 2kg?)
- Fast (above 2.5GHz)
- Able to handle basic engineering software.

Hope for a reply from you guys.  rclxms.gif

Thanks!

if u no need optical disk drive. get this asus. less than 2kg....

what does 2.5Ghz means to u? just curious. sometimes. if u need response rate faster. its much better spend more on SSD. because current hdd is not as fast as u want. the processor speed for processing is usually refer to processing power. sometimes. even its mention 2.5ghz.. the speed is not until that speed. the trick lies on ssd brows.gif

anyone have bad experience while using HP Pavilion 14 & 15 series.

I'm very frustrated with lenove U410 touch series, lid always come out at the right hinge of the laptop. Their customer service also very "tiu"

lenovo now not as reliable as last time. hp customer service also so-so. not that reliable. but if u used to hot keys like lenovo, you might really annoy with hp hot keys. laugh.gif but their notebook offer quite competitive specs + warranty offer.
