Shipping is available. Costs is btw Rm2 to 4k depending on mode and type of shipping you want.

Do take note that nowadays, most banks won't do direct cases for loans anymore. Means you have to go through the dealer. If the car your are buying is still under loan by the previous buyer, you or your seller would have to settle the bank loan first before you get another loan.

2) Car registration, when the car comes to KL, can I register a new number plate for it?

Yes.


All in all, I would suggest you buy from here as it is costly and there is much hassle buying from Sabah / Sarawak.

I would say the resale value would really depend on the popularity of the car. Even not all models of Toyotas still can command high resale value nowadays. As new and better models of cars are coming out by the buckloads, new car prices getting cheaper and cheaper, market is getting more and more competitive.

Hence the argument. TV is NOt brand dependant and rather model dependant? We can see popularity of certain car models are giving way to competing models, e.g. Honda City is more popular than Vios now (judging by sales number ) , does that mean RV for City wold be better

Some actually argue RV of rare cars hold up value better than common cars, based on your experience, any truth in that argument?

Your buyer or you will need to come out with the cash to settle the loan.

That you would need to check with the banks. Sambung bayar is a total no no. You know the risks already.

Usually in any advertising site, the seller will put the price for 'body' only, but for the car to going OTR, additional charges can be up to RM5k. Can you explain what are they for?

In that case you got to pay the buyer the difference between the loan balance and the market price of the car.

This new rules seems to make it difficult for people to sell cars themselves. Is there some hidden agenda here to profit certain parties? Ala middle man car dealers.

Its all processes by the relevant authorities in protecting consumers in general. Or rather, just more red tape. Car dealers have to go through the same processes, just that they hire people to get things done and hiring people to get things done are costs to the car dealer. So in the end, the costs gets passed on to the consumer.

Profit certain quarters? I would say Puspakom, MyEg, E Auto.

Puspakom inspection - around RM100 I think?
Runner fees - around RM300-500

Insurance (car dependable) - at most RM2000

Road tax (let say 1.5L car) - RM90

Total up around RM3k, wow they made quite good profit out of RM5k charged

It depends on what car you are buying. If for a car like a Myvi or Saga, then it would be extreme.

Anyway, there are still many costs involved in these kind of transactions. Again, like I mentioned, it depends on the type and price of the car you are buying.

I intend to transfer ownership of my car from my dad (owner) to me (driver)... Here's what I think of the procedures.

1. Masuk Puspakom for inspection. What other Puspakom inspections for cars without financing (other than B5 and 7)...?
1a. Puspakom inspection they required to koyak tint regardless of VLT count, or just VLT beyond legal limit...?
2. Go JPJ tukar nama, only me go JPJ boleh kah...? My dad super lazy dealing with gov agencies.
3. Settle step 1 and 2 then only deal with insurance, correct boh...? I intend to transfer my insurance from an already sold car which still has 30% NCD.

Is the above procedures correct...?

Further info, car has no loan whatsoever, and it's just name transfer, no buying-selling involved.

You dont need to batal the hakmilik with JPJ. You can just keep the hakmilik with you and show the buyer when you are selling the car. The bank has already linked the ehakmilik to jpj.
