This one i have to agree as some fees charged doesn't seem to be justifiable. They might as well levied the car price to earn the margin instead of charging exorbitant fees. While it is right to have charge for runner fees and service fee, but some dealers when inquired to breakdown the extra processing fee most of them unable to provide a valid answer at all.


Sounds like dealers can charge whatever they want.

I have been through selling cars to direct owners and also buying per-owned cars from showrooms,. None of the mentioned charges occurred while it is right for used car dealers to charge for the service provided but that is no reason to charge sky high prices to buyers that are not that knowledgeable. If used dealers are being charged that much by banks or credit companies then why not let buyer apply for loan personally with bank? Why insisted loan application must be done thru the dealer? Do you know that when i told the dealer i could apply my own hire purchase since i know the bank officers well and what everyone of them do is insisted else the car will not be sold if loans are not processed thru them. Sounds fishy ? Ain't it better to have buyers to do it direct with banks to spare the trouble ? 

Biometric recognition does spare buyers the trouble but going by your logic, why when car owners selling their cars to used dealers are not being charged a dim when using the said same biometric recognition and also runner fee for document errands and settlement? Only when purchasing a car then it is being charged? One can say that the fee is absorbed into the car price, then why not do the same when selling the car ? Put it into the price and spare everyone the doubt to discredit used car dealers. While i did met some very genuine used car dealers with reasonable fee charged and some bad apples really do no justice to these genuine dealers.
