QUOTE(kyle_kl @ Jan 18 2016, 02:53 PM) i guess the difference (RM1.40) is the 0.8% cross border charge by CIMB. so you only able get the full amount from Agoda but not the remaining 0.8% by CIMB. i think if use other card (without cross border charge) will not have this issue. correct me if i am wrong. yes, you are right. i have edited my post... QUOTE(victorywp @ Jan 18 2016, 02:07 PM) i just checked mine: 1) rm217.67 refunded rm215.94 2) rm265.63 refunded rm263.52 so yeah, the cross border fee of 0.8% will not be refunded.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 24 2016, 11:17 PM) Yeah but can maximise RM 50? I thought RM 30 is for online already, no matter what only RM 20 for retail? Anyway, can bring this to CIMB thread. yeah, max rm30 is for online. but if you didn't spend any on online, then your other categories like grocery, petrol, etc. can take up the whole rm50 cb.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 24 2016, 11:26 PM) Oh, so it works this way but not the other round which can spend all RM 50 on online transactions. Learnt something today. yeah, it used to be able to max all rm50 under online when the card just started/introduced. maybe too many people only maximising the whole rm50 monthly cb for online, so they revised it to max rm30 only for online.

QUOTE(chiahau @ Feb 24 2016, 04:52 PM) IIRC - Agoda will usually charge your card ( Regardless of pay later or pay now ) unless there state : Pay at Hotel. I usually book through Agoda, only hotel that need to pay over at counter is Mandarin Oriental The rest, Agoda collect the payment 1st. So far, Agoda most reliable in getting 5% and occasionally 7% off and 5% back. Booking.com usually more expensive and Expedia honestly sucks agoda will always charge your card, unless they go through their sister company (booking.com) for your booking at mandarin oriental.

QUOTE(chiahau @ Feb 24 2016, 05:23 PM) Mandarin Oriental is pay over the counter. Agoda won't charge your card. I remember last time, they did not charge my card. i mean it's nothing to do with the hotel. it's agoda go through booking.com to reserve the room for you. it happens to me many times already. sometimes when agoda doesn't have rooms anymore, it will link to booking.com for your reservation. you won't be able to print your receipt like usual and you will need to pay after checkout.

QUOTE(laymank @ Feb 25 2016, 12:17 AM) This 'checkout' is online booking checkout or physical hotel checkout? if hotel, my case was to pay when I checked in. physical hotel checkout. i believe that pay upon check in is due to the hotel policy not booking.com? some hotels did require me to pay upon check in.

QUOTE(adele123 @ Feb 29 2016, 07:29 PM) it's OK now. So... for the past many months i've been paying outstanding balance (i.e. AFTER the cash rebate). However for the month of January, i've been charged finance charges for not paying the full statement balance. Oh well, other forummers beware... stick to paying statement balance anyway, did you ask for waiver?

QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Mar 2 2016, 08:47 AM) I can confirm that myEG payments get 5%! Actually i was expecting 0.2% but my Watami wasn't accepted, so since none of my cards really can get much better than 0.2% I just try. Results, please check my maths:- Other spending - RM544.48 (all confirmed 5%, things like Lazada, Qoo10, Zalora) Insurance (myEG) payment - RM393.73 Cashback received - RM30 (exactly) For me, that means must have gotten 5% to push my total cashback to exactly RM30. If get 0.2% my cashback should only be RM28 by my calculation. victorywp add to OP? so sounds like everything that goes through myeg will get cb. by right insurance not eligible, but goes through myeg becomes eligible.
