I have an unauthorized transaction of RM500 from paypal Sony.
Sony already refund me the RM500.
But too bad the transaction of debiting RM500 fall before my statement date and the refund fall after my statement date.

This end up I have extra rm500 in my statement balance and refund of RM500 in my unbilled transaction.
I don't need to pay that RM500 in this case, right?
*
dont have to pay. if i'm not mistaken, uob is not too strict on this.

same happen to my Vox. wrongly-charged amount is in current statement, but the refund amount is in unbilled.

i just pay whatever outstanding. so far, no finance charge.

CIMB however must die-die pay statement balance, else kena charge.

I'm not so sure about that.

I have been paying the difference rather than the statement amount but never got penalized for underpayment. Was I lucky or what?
*
my idea is the same. that's why i only paid the difference. just be mindful on cimb smile.gif

*
call the CS number behind your card.

tell them to set RM1 SMS notification for all your MBB cards.

How is the cashback disbursed to users? Deducted from the outstanding balance or into the bank account?  hmm.gif
*
cashback is credited into your credit card account that you earned from.

it will reduce the oustanding balance.

how does the GSC RM8 Visa Checkout Promo works?

I registered cc in visa checkout, but upon payment (before [Confirm]) the charge is normal ticket price.

1) when will see the RM8 price?
2) what is the merchant name captured? visa san francisco or gsc?

p/s: Today is the last Friday of the promo. It's barely after 12am, so the price not reflected because over quota? or end of promo?

It can be done on advance ticket purchased, I have done this before...

I suspect that the end date of promotion is on today, so maybe the date of ticket cannot purchased after this date 3rd June

You can try tonight 0.00am using HSBC card  biggrin.gif

thanks biggrin.gif

it's ok la, i used HLB Mach to get 10% Movies cashback. a litttle comfort is that the final merchant name is GSC, so it's still eligible for cashback laugh.gif

Is there any drawbacks for having more than 5 credit cards? I have like 6 cards now and I am thinking of getting another two uob vox and pbb vs
*
it depends to each individual bank's assessments lor.

what works (or doesnt work) for you may not be applicable to others; and vice versa.

how come you have 5 existing cards but none can cover uob vox or pbb vs?

i have 5 (m2card, cimb cr, hlb wise, uob vox, mbb ikhwan) before approved for pbb vs (whilst applying house loan from pbb & cimb!) devil.gif

Hello Guys,

Someone has been using my credit card to buy things without my authorization (My card is CIMB). I called up and they said that the dispute form will be sent to me by the end of the month along with my bank statement.

The unauthorized transaction was done on last 9th on 10th. Should I really wait for the statement at the end of the month and send the dispute form all along or should I  just fill in the dispute form now and send to them ASAP?

Thanks
*
submit asap, i'm sure online transaction can be used for dispute filing. do check back with CIMB.

how did you find out the fraudulant transactions? from online banking? not the moment it was used?

if yes, that means transactions already posted in the account (after actual transaction transacted), so dispute form is to be submitted for them to investigate. will take some time to reverse (if valid) though.

after that...

i'd suggest you call CIMB CS to set SMS transaction limit to RM1.00 for all your CIMB cards.

that means, any usage of RM1 and above, will trigger you via SMS. then you have the time to react by calling CS immediately to freeze the transaction before being posted into the account. it's less tedious this way.

do this after you've received new replacement card from CIMB.

Hi, I like to know for Maybankcard holders, what ways are there to top up credit card account if single swipe amount is larger than the monthly credit limit ?

Will a MBB savings account be enough to transfer surplus amount directly to the credit card account without using a cheque linked to a current account ?

I know that for HLB credit card holders, they can use the cheque to credit surplus amount into their credit card account.
*
use cdm or giro from other banks --> mbb credit card account.

Can we ask from the bank a particular day we want as our statement date? The bank's referred are HLB, PBB & ambank. can I ask to change to 18th (not 17 nor 19 etc but exactly 18), or do they have specific day out of a month?
If cannot choose a day that we want, any way to easily keep track of the payment due date?
Thanks
*
depends on the bank.

these are the dates (could've a bit more) that i've gotten:

MBB Credit Card Bill Cycle Dates
3 6 8 12 14 18 21 24 26 28 EOM

HLB Credit Card Bill Cycle Dates
1 2 3 4 5 7 11 16 17 19 20 22 23 25 26 29 30 31

UOB VOX Card Bill Cycle Dates
3 13 14 15 16 17 21 23 24 25 26

you cant just pick a date the bank doesnt have, so pick something near your preferred PDD (payment due date).

fyi, PDD = bill date + 20 days.

imo, i prefer bill date in early of the month, so that PDD always on a fixed day within same month. e.g. bill date = 3, pdd = 23.

if my bill date slightly later, the pdd already cross to next month, hence always +/- 1 day difference, which is a annoying to track laugh.gif . e.g. bill date = 15, pdd = 4 or 5, depending on the month. however, there is always a slight grace period of 1-2 days after PDD that you can still pay without getting interest charges.

if bill date on Feb, the pdd date in March will much further away since Feb has shorter day count biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

to track pdd, statement always stated the date. or my simple rule: bill date & pdd = within same month.

Is there any cash back card that gives cash back for JOMPay? Can I assume all online banking allows payment via credit cards or limited merchants?

my guess is jompay is MCC-less. and most cards are giving cb based on MCC sweat.gif

Hi all, i got some questions here. Hope someone can answer me. Thanks biggrin.gif

Here is my first question. I planning to buy 2 phone, one for myself and one for my partner. Is that possible to purchase two phones under the same EPP if it didnt exceed my credit limit?

Second question is, Me myself got a phone that wish to trade in to the shop.
For example,if I buy 2 iPhone 6s which cost around RM5398 (Estimate), and i trade in my old phone (RM 700 maybe?), so my statement is calculated based on RM5398 and shop gimme rm700 or my statement is calculated based on RM4698 (after deducted rm700)?

Please help me all sifu ~ thanks again  biggrin.gif
*
bump you to general questions...

1) epp, yes why not. as long as not exceeding CL.

2) your cc statement amount = amount charged by merchant. you need to work out the payment with the merchant. whether merchant i) charge rm5398 to your cc, then give you rm700 in cash (he buy your phone in cash-term), or ii) charge RM4698 amount to your cc. both options depends on the merchant.

To apply epp, I only bring my credit card to may bank authorized merchant and merchant will settle for me right ?
Sorry ,first time apply epp. Dunno anything about it 😞
*
of course maybank authorized merchant that offers 0% EPP. always ask about EPP options available. usually they carry few banks EPP.

If I am applying for a housing loan next month, would it be recommended to apply for a credit card at this current moment?

Need to get some cashback from utilities payment since it's quite a sum nowadays.

Thank you for any info provided.

shouldnt be any issue.

i've gotten my 2nd house loan early this year and already gotten the following cards since:

1) uob yolo (indirect application as they called me)
2) mbb ikhwan visa (walk-in maybank card centre)
3) 3x pbb vs (1 principal + 2 supp) via email
4) aeon big visa (walk-in aeon credit service centre)

laugh.gif all approved easily.
