what's the advantages of having non free annual charge cc? because i see some people rather not having the free for life card
*
1) benefits outweigh annual fee
2) convenience
3) free AF for year 1, take advantage of benefits then cancel before year 2 AF kicks in
4) loyalty to certain bank/services
5) high spending to waive AF, if any

some ppl cannot even apply AF-free cards but gotten other cards with AF smile.gif

Guys,

In your experience, UOB Payonline if u pay bills and select "pay today", will the payment really be credited to the Payee organisation on that day?

Got some overdue TNB bills but no office boy working today sweat.gif
*
what card you're planning to use?

uobpayonline, usually payment received the +1 day.

or use MyTNB Portal, payment reflected immediately. use in conjunction with cards giving online cb, e.g. PBB VS.

What does 'non compounding charges' mean?
*
you will not be charges interest on the interest you're already charged for which is typical for conventional credit card; since this is an Islamic card overcharging is prohibited under Shariah law

Just wondering if the information from CTOS report is credible?
Recently I've submitted a few CC applications from different banks but all was being rejected. Later then, I found out there is a loan application in ctos report from Sc bank which I am not even aware of. Called to their cust service, they couldnt find any application in their system.
*
ctos listing is done by the company who reported your credit status.

since SC Bank couldnt provide proof of this so-called loan application, you should file a report to them (credit operation team, or something similar) to delist/remove your NRIC from CTOS.

How about using PB VS card?

Will buy something from ikea around RM1.2K, already did my selection. Now is just waiting time to execute the purchase...
*
if your ikea spending can hit 2k, you have another choice smile.gif

1) spend on Monday for the promo 1mil cb. get RM50 cb.
2) once the 2k spending posted into your pbb vs card, call-in CS to convert the amount to 9-month 0% Flexipay. it will be done immediately and split the amount into 9 bills.

https://www.pbebank.com/Personal-Banking/Pr...y-Plan-(2).aspx

Flexipay is per merchant/transaction. cannot combine multiple transactions (like BT).

below is how it's shown in your statement:

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Oct 8 2016, 12:25 PM)
per transaction.

e.g. buy electrical appliances (e.g. fridge, TV, etc.) from merchant A with amount RM2k, swipe with PBB card, then after 3 days, call PBB to convert that RM2k into 9month Flexipay.

advantages: good for single large sum transaction. no additional fees. simple call-in to CS, done in 1 minute. if you have multiple flexipay done, you can also BT your upcoming statement to another card, further extending the period (e.g. BT to MBB's 12mth 0%).

disadvantages: not by statement (for this, you do BT instead), need min RM2k for 9month 0% flexipay, tricky when your purchase is near bill date (T&C: 3 days after transaction, 5 days before bill date).
here's what's shown in the statement:

So Ringgitplus would actually check with the banks and ask whether they are interested to give CC? so tehcnically would have higher chance of getting CC, right?
*
think RP as a referrer. the final approval still from bank, and same criteria.

if they reduce the criteria, they need to answer when audited laugh.gif and ppl take advantge of RP to get unsecure loan (aka cc) from bank easily, bypassing the strict policy for bank.

I use Maybank Visa Signature and Public Bank Visa Signature mostly.

Do they allow export transactions data into csv file? I would like to keep track of my spending using Excel.

Also, any way to check how the monthly cash back is calculated? How to know which transactions have cash back, which transactions don't?

Thanks.
*
bump u to general thread.

have u checked MBB n pbb portals if they have export function?

for cb, count yourself in Excel. most of us do it manually based on past transactions. there is MCC topic as reference which lists out which merchant falls under which MCC.

nice!

this card not bad with Flexipay, min RM1.2k for 12-month 0% interest. it's as good as BT thumbup.gif

good for phones, furniture, electrical appliances, and perhaps insurance too for some having >1.2k charged to the card each month sweat.gif

even current flexipay 9-month 0% need min RM2k.

Maybe lower rate and monthly cap - like a competitor to CIMB CR.

this Quantum card looks like competing in same category as UOB VOX YOLO or RHB EVO or HLB Mach laugh.gif

Oh really? Hmm if capped at 30 for Cash Back online then CIMB Cash Rebate is almost the same but without the dining  hmm.gif I don't use credit card much for dining hmm.gif
*
better than cimb cr because

1) no xborder fee from pbb
2) online transaction* is not as stringent as cimb cr (*assuming same logic as pbb vs)
