Russia’s S-300 missile systems "too costly" for Serbia — PM

According to him, Russia’s S-300 missile systems were "too costly" for Serbia, but Russia had expressed a bid to help through certain agreements.

The astonishing scenes were filmed on Friday morning during a three-hour operation which began at 4am local time and ended with Guzman's capture and return to prison following his jail escape in July. El Chapo doesn't appear in the astonishing footage.

On Monday, attorney general Arely Gomez told local radio that people in the house had ordered food for 13 people the night before the raid.

One gunman was killed in the main room just inside a front door riddled with bullet holes. The marines secured the downstairs rooms first.

As they prepared to go upstairs a marine saw a man at the top of the stairs preparing to fire a rocket-propelled grenade. The marine hit the weapon with a couple shots causing the gunman to toss it, the marine guide said in the Televisa interview.

The wall above the stairs was particularly damaged by gunfire as gunmen tried to keep the marines from advancing. Upstairs the marines found two women in a bathroom and two men in a room with a large television.

On a roof patio marines found tossed weapons and a ladder leading to a higher roof. It took about 15 minutes to secure the house. Then the marines followed the attackers across rooftops. Four more gunmen were killed in this pursuit.

TOW 2B is not tandem warhead missile. Sure, it has two warheads, but it doesn't work as a tandem warhead. It is a top-attack ATGM which attacks with BOTH warheads with Explosively-formed penetrator (EFP), one facing forward and one facing at a downward angle.

The TOW 2A is the one with a tandem warhead.

Syrian Army captures Jarjisah on the northern bank of the Orontes River

user posted image

One week after launching an offensive in the Hama Governorate’s southeastern countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 66th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Kataebat Al-Ba’ath (Al-Ba’ath Battalions) – resumed their attack along the Orontes River’s northern bank, striking the Islamist rebel defenses at the village of Jarjisah, which is located just north of the rebel stronghold of Al-Rastan in the Homs Governorate.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 66th Brigade and their allies originally issued a warning to the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham that if they do not turn in their weapons and surrender to the Syrian security forces by 10 A.M. (Damascus Time) on Monday, they will find themselves under attack. Not surprising, the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham refused to surrender themselves to the Syrian security forces; thus, prompting the latter to launch a powerful assault on the Islamist defenses at the rural village of Jarjisah.

Following a long battle with the Islamist rebels that stretched from 10:30 A.M. (Damascus Time) to 7:15 P.M. (Damascus Time), the Syrian Arab Army’s 66th Brigade and their allies finally imposed full control over the village of Jarjisah, killing an estimated 25 enemy combatants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham in the process. With the capture of Jarjisah on Monday, the Syrian Armed Forces now control the northern bank of the Orontes River that leads to the strategic city of Al-Rastan.

AIR MULE HOVERCRAFT AMBULANCE FLIES AUTONOMOUSLY

user posted image

QUOTE
Robots may not stop war, but they may someday be able to save the humans fighting it. Developed by Tactical Robotics, the Air Mule is a hovercar-like aircraft, built to be an ambulance
QUOTE
The idea, says 56-year-old designer Rafi Yoeli, is a vehicle that can brave dense forests, urban centers, and combat zones where choppers, with their vulnerable rotors, can’t. Yoeli, who founded Urban Aeronautics in 2001 after decades with companies like Boeing and Israeli Aerospace Industries, is currently building a prototype, aiming for a first flight in 2009. As an unmanned craft, it’s both light and able to risk enemy fire. Yoeli is also trying to make it inexpensive, and civilian and military authorities in the U.S. and elsewhere have already expressed interest in his $1.5-million concept.

60 Minutes Depicts Russia's Air Campaign In Syria As Propaganda-Filled And Stalling

user posted image

QUOTE
A 60 Minutes segment uploaded yesterday claims that Russia’s air campaign in Syria is really a propaganda fueled, dumb-bomb slinging adventure that has had questionable results, with goals that reach well beyond Syria itself
QUOTE
there are some interesting interviews and takeaways from the piece, one of which is Russia’s growing frustration with Bashar Al Assad himself and his partially collapsed military. Additionally, there are some good video moments, including how Russian handlers wanted them to film their “state-of-the-art” Su-34 Fullback fighter-bombers

This Weapons Designer Was a Real Life Man of Mystery

He was in many ways a real life counterpart to the famous fictional gadget maker for James Bond, the Quartermaster, more commonly known simply as Q.

QUOTE
Theodore could build all sorts of top-secret weaponry. From a workshop hidden in a walk-in safe at Seventrees, he built a briefcase with an Uzi inside and a cigarette lighter that could fire .22 caliber bullets, his obituary claimed. The FBI reportedly ordered up a 12-shot clip board that undercover cops could use to take out hostage takers.
QUOTE
Dubbed the ASP after the firm’s initials, the pistol was a highly modified Smith and Wesson 39.
QUOTE
Theodore smoothed out its edges and coated the whole thing in Teflon to keep the gun from snagging on its holster, clothing or anything else if the shooter had to draw in hurry.
QUOTE
The pistols were just shy of seven inches long — about a half inch shorter than the original gun.
QUOTE
Theodore installed a patented metal channel he called the Guttersnipe.
QUOTE
“What Theodore was looking for was a gun that wasn’t going to snag on its way out, a gun that would be very quick to bring into action.”

user posted image

QUOTE
“The goal was to be able to shoot effectively, very fast and at very close range” McCollum noted. “That’s the sort of confrontation the gun was designed for.”
QUOTE
In keeping with the general image of the gun as a weapon for spies and undercover types, this new iteration of the firm offered a special edition that came inside a case hidden within a fake, hollow book
QUOTE
Theodore’s art apparently remains a state secret and something people have literally been sworn to secrecy over.

The Chinese Army Is Going Full James Bond

user posted image

QUOTE
The Chinese military is putting a little-used aircraft concept to work. Looking like something out of the classic James Bond film You Only Live Twice, the Hunting Eagle gyrocopter is going into People's Liberation Army (PLA) service.

Developed by Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles, the Hunting Eagle is expected to operate in the search and rescue, border control, reconnaissance, anti-riot, and other roles. It will also be used to self-deploy Chinese special forces on missions into enemy territory.

Gyrocopters are different from helicopters in having an unpowered main rotor. A rearward-facing, engine-powered propeller provides thrust, and once sufficient speed is gained, the main rotor begins to rotate, providing lift. Gyrocopters were actually developed before helicopters, which at the time were thought technologically unfeasible.
