Talking about 20" trolley bag of AmBank for FD placement (Nov 2015). Today is last day of supposed collection. Still no news yet !

Called the ABM, she said still not yet received. Will reserve one for me.

Anyone received theirs from AmBank ?

Received call from BR to collect CNY gift. Not sure hamper again (just the cheap version, anyway it is still a gift). Will go to collect when it is along my way out.

Affin is OK. Staff plenty, quite free.

Let us know any gift from BR for CNY.

I have also reduced >50%. They still welcome me and gave me 12 mth 4.5% nego rate recently for renewal FD.

The gift are branch related. Some branch gave out better quality and higher price gift. All depends on their budget. Anyway may go out later and see what it is. But I won't go out just to get it.

Your BR branch may be late in the gift. Will show mine in another post.

But it cannot be compared with your CIMB one.

The BR 2 yrs 4.55% has been mentioned before. Min. 50k.

They changed their gift from hampers of last 3 years (received by me) to more attractive looking packaging but lower value. Anyway a gift is a gift. Included is CNY greeting card and Ang Pao package.

BR wise, counter service is courteous. Invited customers for high tea in hotels, Raya makan makan etc. Though some do not like them for no PIDM, but I have no issue with them. Except I did withdraw more than half of my eggs as their FD rates in past 1 year did not match the market rate.

My earlier post already said the gift is of lower value. Anyway it is still a gesture from BR. Good one (gesture), no doubt.

Anyway good "eye" to catch this ! In the past I know BR has been buying from some vendors for this gift to depositors. Only this time know where they are buying from. I was told this year they decided to change from hampers to this gift.

Some branch of BR is giving out BC. Have to ask and insist.

I remember previous years u also have the gift delivered to you. While people like me has to collect it. So let us know when you have yours delivered.

You have lowered down deposits there ? But I think you mentioned you still have substantial deposits there ?

But other states (other than Penang) seems to be giving out better gifts. BR may be planning a surprise for you.

BR looks at total deposits. They don't care it is in 1 cert or not. I was shown a list by BR in terms of those eligible (just a flash no names seem). They list down by total deposits. Penang side my branch 300k and above. But it depends on branch and how many rich depositors. Each branch has their budget to fill.

OK, reporting on MBB GIA-i interest. If I calculate using 366 days, then it is exactly 4%. So far I saw one bank using 365 days, some others using 366 days for Jan 2016 interest. So not sure MBB using 365 or 366 days for 2016 interest.

Also received Mach 4.5% FD interest. HL is using 365 days as a base for interest calculation.

So much wrong info on BSN. Have been thinking of moving some fund to them once 4.5% FD rate gone. Anyway lets see first.

So, I was right. BR was planning a surprise for you !

I agreed that 1 year 4.8% is unbelievable to me too. Their current promo for 2 years is 4.55% for min 50k. I think that was the reason they agreed to give me 1 year 4.5% for my FD renewal.

5 years ? 4.9% to 5.2% ? Must be very high millions. Unlikely go to beyond 5%.
