6 figure sum. But not 7 figure like one big boss shown.  biggrin.gif  tongue.gif

Minimum fund for BR for nego rate is 50k, 100k, depending on their need for fund. Then the higher the amt the better your chances of getting better nego rate.

I may not get the rate I asked as currently 2 years 4.55% is their promo. But lets see tomorrow.  biggrin.gif
*
BR called back. They offer 1 year 4.5%. Their current board rate is 1 yr 4.1%, so they say they are trying to match HL and BSN's 4.5%. Also this is matured FD, not new fund. Getting monthly interest.

I asked to include Monday another FD due into the package.

Looks like can go as moving to BSN is an option but no monthly interest from BSN. Also some concern still with BSN, new account opening etc.

1st time FD placement at HLB & already having bad experience & impression.

Any idea whether the Mach Fixed Deposit have hardcopy FC certificates issued?
*
I personally do not have problem with HL. The only issue is their Islamic FD which will take into effect 2 days after placement. But they still issue the cert/receipt on the same day.

MACH wise, online placement also smooth. Can see the placement immediately in HL connect. smile.gif

For BR, it is better to call first to negotiate. But do it before your fund available say min 1 day ahead. biggrin.gif

Yes, BR is promoting 24 mth FD at 4.55%. I got 12 mth 4.5% for matured FD after nego with them. They want me to keep the eggs there instead of taking it out. tongue.gif

I wouldn't use nego rate for comparison here . it's highly subjective.

2 reasons:

1) someone might use/repost the rate and may claim it's promo rate applicable to all.

2) someone may read it, and go argue with bank with min fund. he/she may not know nego rate requires substantial fund.

ppl might get confused.
*
That is what @yygo is saying. Nego rate is very much depends on the bargaining power of individual. I shared the info with all. That person should not have put it like it is "normal" 1 year rate. biggrin.gif Misleading to do that. shakehead.gif

OK, in BR to renew my FD and got the nego rate I mentioned before. No need to repeat here in case someone go and think that it is normal rate for BR. tongue.gif Received PM asking about the nego rate. biggrin.gif

Split into 4 certs and got monthly interest.

However was told that I could have gone there on Monday as there is another FD due which I got nego rate as well. Should have thought of that but the ABM did not tell me after I asked on the add'l FD due yesterday. BR has this flexibility of u can get FD cert within about 1 week after FD matured and the nego rate remains.

Anyway Monday have to go there for another FD, smaller amt, but part of the package of the 12 mth 4.x rate. biggrin.gif

The monthly interest credited to CASA and is done automatically?

Yup and on the dot. biggrin.gif

One more thing their system always change the FD maturity to working day. So today's renewal, maturity on Jan 23 2017. biggrin.gif

For HL, normal SA.

If you placed for HL Mach, then Money Box. biggrin.gif

You mean for HL using normal SA also entitled for 4.5% p.a (6-months period)?
Thanks.

Yes, the promo is carried by both HL and HL Mach. But for now, not sure if the quota has been filled.

I have placed the 4.5% FD in HL branch and HL Mach online. biggrin.gif

Thanks. Was thinking of this but did not check the date of announcement.

Anyway at least it stayed the same instead of the gloomy outlook that says it may go down. biggrin.gif

It should be.
It is just like banks suddenly has extra about 5-6 bil available that can be lend out.

Even MGS yield is dropping as well lately.

Even before this (SRR reduction) was announced, early Jan onward, no "exciting" FD promo was announced. So looks like short term may not see higher than 4.5% FD promo ? hmm.gif Dr Bones (of Star Trek), any "cure" by end of the year ? tongue.gif

AmBank promo at 12 mth 4.18% shakehead.gif , and other bank at higher 4.3% and 4.4% (UOB, RHB). BSN 4.5% may be hot after HL ends its 6 mth 4.5%. sad.gif

Add: BR 2 years 4.55%, min 50k but not that attractive compared with BSN's 1 year 4.5%.

We are just 1mth into 2016

11mths, many magical event can happen... haha

smile.gif

Lets just wait n see.. since FD is also for wait n see money. Haha

One thing for sure, almost all local bank are having promo FDs every month.. so the need to have $$$ is still there.. just tat BNM giv a breather for them to relieve them of 0.5% in SRR. Hiw many time can they reduce ? Is limited also..

11mth.. tats very long u know.. my bet is till rnd of 2016. Haha
*
Still so optimistic ! nod.gif Last time we talked about this, u said by end of 2016, now talking about mid 2016 ? brows.gif

For how much I LOVED for the OPR to go up, I am kind of pessimistic that OPR will goes up in 2nd qtr. Let see. hmm.gif

Noted down your bet with cherroy. biggrin.gif

Today in BR for another matured FD to get the nego rate 12 mth 4.5% (note nego rate, BR 12 mth board rate 4.1%). This is a lone FD of smaller amount than the ones I got last Thursday. Anyway BR was flexible to allow me to include this FD into the nego "package". Some more I withdraw a few k from that FD for use in CNY. The FD back dated to 25/1, again good for me (as I actually in a way terminated the FD by withdrawing the principal amt). biggrin.gif

That is what I like about BR, flexibility. Monthly interest on the dot. rclxms.gif

Asked the ABM on the CNY hampers, he said they are working on it. Still going to send out to the "loyal" customers. But he "complained" that the Chinese always move their funds when somewhere else has higher FD rate. tongue.gif

I had Mach account 2 years ago, until I closed it mid last year. Didn't need it coz HLB has been very stingy when it comes to FD rates. Anyway, went to Bandar Puteri branch again 5 mins before the opened this morning and got it done in 15 mins. What a relief. EFD can be made with the 4.5% @ 6 mths promo? I can only see their standard rates in Mach website.

And took me 30 mins in queue to change new notes for CNY  shakehead.gif
*
HL do at times has the highest rate though it may not last long, like in early Oct last year 4.26%.

Went to HL to change new notes. Long queue and even PB the same, no jumping of queue. Went to next door AmBank. The manager have me sat in his office and handled it for me. biggrin.gif

Luckily I did not go to BSN. Stayed in BR after they gave me nego rate of 12 mth 4.5%. biggrin.gif

I thought there is a new FD promo from AmBank.

OK, checked my record, did put in Oct to Nov 2015 into the 2 years 4.6% FD in AmBank. thumbup.gif Quite substantial sum also. Luckily did not wait for the 5% dream of Dr Bones. tongue.gif

The basic saving account in MACH is called Money Box account.. Same thing, different name.
But the good thing is, Money box account will definitely pay more interest than HLB Conventional basic saving account.

All MACH acc will start with 402
HLB will start with 001

For all the good things of Moneybox (online FD), u need to have activities within 6 mths. If not, the hassle of re-activating it again. biggrin.gif
