only one branch promo? the rest of RHB dont carried this promo? 

i reckon both still applicable. the 15-month fd has a plus point is that it pays interest every 3 months, and no penalty if withdrawal during any of those 3-month period.

the 4.45% 12 months sounds like the straightforward one. Didn't manage to ask at RHB branch. Will ask when i pass by.

I thought can abalone is usually around RM50 to RM60.
Maybe they don't know?? I also seldom eat abalone, wouldn't know real or fake. Maybe you can leave them a feedback.

I just done 4.5% 6mths with hlb mv, no queue. Gave them a check from mbb, maturity on 15 Aug, I can see immediately in hongleongconnect.

For you and me maybe no differences. For big player like unker goat & unker lim who put in 6-7 digit/FD, late 2 days payment can buy dinner for family (~rm500 I guess?).

Let's take unker X for eg. This is just a rough calculations of mine. Could be wrong.
Unker X is worth min rm3m. How did I arrive at this figure?
1. Unker X send his son to the US. Sending someone to the US will require at least Rm1m for tuition fees + living expenses for say 3 years.
2. Chinese family generally have 2-3 kids. For this discussion, let's assume he have 2 kids. One kid send to US. One more kid takkan in Malaysia. So another rm1m for the other kid.
3. 6 figure FD amount late for few days = one time family meal.
4. No way only one single 6 digit FD. How I know? Too much money in bank X/Y/Z (his own words - lost count how many banks already).
5. Say eg, RM500k /FD at 4.5% gives ~ only about RM62.5/day.
6. If one were to eat at hotel/fancy restaurant, one should prepare min rm50/person (I am being generous here as usually it will be higher than that - about rm100)
7. As you can see from the eg. Unker X if he didn't get 2 days of interest, he lose out.

Of course Unker X is not captain but applicable for him as well.

I cannot get his total net worth as he doesn't have a blog like Captain.  So I do not know about his spending habits. Captain about min RM10m.

Confirmed that effective date of HLB Islamic fd deposits, using personal cheques, is on day of placement, i.e 15 Feb to 15 Aug if you place for six months. They said they now do not need the cheque to float for two days for clearing.  Also, there is no need to open any savings or current account to credit the interest on maturity. It's auto-renewed and rolled-over with interest on maturity at board rate. If you wish to uplift on maturity, they will issue Bankers cheque (RM2.50?) or IBG (RM2.50 also?) or Rentas (RM5.50) to your other banks' account if you do not have a savings or current account with them. You can uplift at any branch.

Ah SiAnG. I noted there is no UOB rates in post No.1, here there are:

UOB Bank Fixed Deposit Promos until end February 2016.

4 Months - 4.00%

7 Months - 4.15%

12 Months - 4.25%

I forgot to ask my RM minimimum fund amount, haha.
