Btw, there is a charge of RM2.60 to issue cheque when withdrawing. They advice to transfer it to your savings account and IB transfer it out.

Also note that u will earn a little more interest if u open before 29 Feb coz it is a leap year !!!

Hong Leong's Islamic FD effective date only starts after the cheque is cleared, right? I presume the money would be sitting in the CASA before the cheque is cleared. Would Hong Leong give interest for the money in CASA before the cheque is cleared (2 days or longer depending on whether there is any holiday or weekend in between)?

In general, if I deposit a cheque into a CASA, would I get interest only after the cheque is cleared or I would get interest from the date I deposit the cheque?

I was looking at the receipt when doing eFD thru Maybank a few days ago. 366/365 is wat i remember seeing.

can we go to hl branch instead of mach? hl and mach is same right? if i walk in to HL branch i can open money box account and get 4.5% FD right?

if u r existing HLB customer with HL Connect access (eg, credit card), u dont need to get their debit card.. MACH money box just need a HL Connect access then u can create your own MACH FD account via online.

yes, need to open MACH account at MACH branch/kiosk, but, he is asking about the debit card/ ATM card.. So, I'm telling him no need to get debit card if he is existing HL Connect user..  , so, maybe my statement on MACH FD creation confuse u.. 

Ok, I shall rephrase it as, when you go to open MACH Money Box at any HL MACH branches, you don't need to take the debit card if you're exisitng HL Connect user. After you open the MACH Money Box account, u can access to your HL Connect and create the MACH FD account online to do e-FD placement. Very fast (within 10 min) and simple (just fill up FATCA form) to open a MACH Money Box than conventional HLB account.

i have a PBB fd which will be matured on (feb06 - sat)
according to promo, it will auto renew to conventional FD upon maturity
i am wondering the renewal date is based on feb06(sat) or will be at feb10 (wed) when the bank reopen ?

saw somewhere they say extend to feb? correct me if im wrong
