I have a question. Let say I place the fd and on the day of the upliftment i was busy. Will that fd auto renew or how? Thanks
*
depends on instruction given during placement. u can choose auto renew, close fd and all go to casa etc.

i gone through the tnc, but doesn't say much about the "2.0% flat investment sales charges".

i wonder if the effective 4.38% is net and already included the charge?  rclxub.gif
*
the 2% are referring to other investment products of maybank. not related to the fd.

it sounds impressive in the 1st sight, but, for those 50 above, and able to wait for another few years, isn't it better to put into epf?
*
but epf self contribution max 60k per year onli

60k is a decent amount already.
*
for those with million eggs or much lowest, say 100k additional cash, other than epf still have to put somewhere. 5% still sounds attractive, no? hmm.gif

I don't envy receiving gifts, as long as they give the % interest in return.

However, it fathoms me when BR gives hampers to a millionnaire here, when I dont receive any, not even their matchat private banker cards despite having more than 50X what the millionnaire FD here has.
*
u mean u placed more than 50x what the millionnaire here has in br? brows.gif they still did not give u anything? vmad.gif who is the millionnaire? hmm.gif

QUOTE(pearl_white @ Feb 3 2016, 02:39 PM)
The other thing I dont like about BR is that despite having that particular FD earning 5%, they seem to register additional FDs as individuals.  I have another 1mil FD earning 4.285% when the even give that 4.285% to individuals depositing RM500!!!

Poor customer service.
*
1 mil fd in br and getting 4.285%?

lo and behold...late last evening without prior notice, there were a few of BR staff incl. the branch manager who dropped by to hand deliver this to me in my office.

Looked like some Eu Yang Sang thing....

I requested 1 year 4.8% for year FD and they said they will call HQ and told me it should not be a problem.  Fingers crossed.  biggrin.gif

i did not bother to reply him at all tongue.gif

but since you highlight it i will explain. bank savings protected by PIDM and fixed deposit account protected by PIDM are 2 different things. not sharp but a bit blunt.

nah with rhb as well. must have good relation with managers/bankers ma.. nowadays we need banks to triple our wealth  smile.gif
*
if a bank do not have pidm, both saving and fd also not protected by pidm.

wat do u mean bank savings and fd protected by pidm are 2 different things? please enlighten us. hmm.gif

do they have ibg/ibft otc? since no BC, for large amount at least to do otc ibg/ibft after fd matured..

Oh.. I have no idea about this part from BSN..

I think this is very inconvenience to use IBG (except IBFT), because we would not know what time
the money will reach the destination bank, we are taking risk to lose one day interest if using IBG.

So, I still prefer banker's check..
*
i mean pipu said bsn do not issue bc. so the only way is to do otc ibg/ibft once fd matured.
