Hello guys. My Iriz 1.6 CVT just reach 2++ km but my fuel consumption is 9.2l/100km stated at the  meter. Is it too high since i used it to works and can consider 50% highway and 50% normal road. Anything that i need to check or is it normal.  icon_question.gif
*
pls do manual calculation after you fill full tank and don't rely on the meter. It's very not accurate, especially if the car is still new..

Going for 1st service today. What engine oil should I go for? I wonder if the volume fluctuating issue can repair on the spot or not.
*
1.3 radio right? Most likely not. Do update here on how they plan to fix your radio volume fluctuating..

and also SC will most likely recommend Petronas Syn 800 (semi-syn) oil, good enough..

My iriz is 1.3MT Exe, 1st service change to fully syn cause they say if semi-sync 5000k next service. I change fully, cost extra rm80 only but save 5000km. BUT the service meter said my next service is another 18000km. hahaha
As for the volume and radio, its not manufactured by Proton, so they may just tinker with and if cannot repair, replace there and then if they have unit or wait for replacement unit. If you nice with the SC, they may let you use your old one until new one arrived.
*
sorry maam. Mineral, Semi-Syn or Fully Syn all is 10k km, 5k km is bullshit. The SC just managed to cheat your $$. You went to Authorised SC and not Official Branch SC right? hmm.gif

The front counter probably said the routine 5k service, which i never bother to listen. Saga always go there every 10k. Just asking to see what she said.
I think the foreman did the right thing. mineral is probably 5k, semi is 10k and fully is 20k. I guess that;s why foreman reset my next service 20k. Thing is should i follow the console notice or the schedule lol.
*
i dont think there's such thing as fully syn 20k as well. doh.gif What fully syn engine oil did they use? 20 000 km is really stretching it, even for fully syn oil. I think there's a mistake made by the foreman servicing your car..

Everything black and white already written in the service booklet. It is 10k regardless of whatever the heck EO you put in the car. No 5k or 20k.
For your own benefit, please consult car manual and service manual.

The only exception of 5k service intervals is for heavy usage like taxis.

and i can confirm you went to Authorised SC and not Official Branch SC already..
I always tell people this, for better product & service information go back to Official Branch SC. Authorised SC will tell a lot of cock stories to earn more money. and sometimes the info they give is just, cannot brain and totally opposite of what Proton said..

What's the different Authorized SC and Official Branch SC? Bukit Maluri is owned and operated by Proton Edar. Is Authorized SC transferred their staff to Mutiara Damansara SC and wearing DRB HICOM uniforms?

As for EO, the meter said 18k but afaik intelligent oil monitor usually based on the way you drive and since its a new car, it showed the next change 18k. i check again next week after outstation trip. I probably go and do every 6 months.
*
Authorised SC = private workshops that are commissioned by Proton to service Proton cars.. Being private workshops their shop names usually like XXXXX Sdn Bhd.

Official Branch SC = They have the Proton Edar name like Proton Edar Mutiara Damansara SC or Proton Edar Setapak SC...

Normally, official branch SC should be more well advised regarding matters like these because they deal directly with Proton, while Authorised SC are just 3rd party workshops so often they don't get or follow the memo that Proton given them.. and if the mistakes made by official branch sc then you can screw them kao kao.

So depends on which SC you went, the advice they give may be quite misleading.. (often times Authorised SC like to tell owners that semi-syn oil can only last 5k km whereas in actual fact it can go to 10k km, even for mineral EO)

and idk if your fully syn can really last 20k km, so better to get it checked again.. If you know what EO the SC used even better then you can check with us here or online and see how far/long it can really last..

and also the KM remaining is not automated. Don't think any intelligent oil monitor involved in that.. It is set by the service advisor that was servicing your car using the laptop that is plugged to the OBD..

Those china brand rims spoilt easily is it?
*
yeap and is dangerous too.

If our roads are well taken care of still "okay" la. But Malaysia so many potholes, one time run over a pothole and the rims may break and damage your car.

EDIT: Here found a good video explaining it.

mine also senget, but found out the 500km free adjustment afterwards, so
thinking of changing the tyres only do together.  icon_rolleyes.gif
doesnt actually like those cars which will senget a side even the steering is straight
so if u let it senget tat way, it still can go straight without prob,
so for the time being still doesnt bothers me much  tongue.gif

QUOTE(northernhero @ Jan 2 2016, 09:10 AM)
haha yes
senget right
if i pull straight the car will slightly move left
anyway
i love my blue thing lol
*
ohh yes mine also got a bit senget the steering. But if let it be, the car still goes straight and doesn't swerve to left/right or anything... So not really bad yet. But mine only like this after 2500+ km already and been through numerous potholes and what not..

Is anyone else facing an issue where your radio volume is unstable(sometimes softer, sometimes louder)/sometimes sounds a little unclear whenever you're not stationary?
*

I feel you bro. Does anyone have a solution for this other than changing the head unit?
*
No other options. It's the crappy radio supplied by Blaupunkt.

As for my case, the SC gave me option of removing radio and sending it to Penang (Blaupunkt's factory I think) to be fixed. But it takes 2-3 weeks (means radioless the entire time)
Don't know if other SC will provide a 1 to 1 replacement unit. Anyone?

Damn that sucks. Someone below you posted a reply saying just turn the radio loud for some time then it'll go away. Might give it a go!
*
Well nowadays i just blast the radio at 10.. So sometimes the volume fluctuate not so noticeable if dont pay attention.

That's the reason why until today I didn't go back SC to get it fixed lol. I think I can live with it rather than go radioless 2-3 weeks...

But still damn, what kind of stupid problem is this Proton mad.gif

Anyone planning to do balancing +alignment? citicars (premium tyre shop where you always see in shopping mall basements) is giving an offer on groupon

Package includes
Tyre services (Package A)

Tyre balancing (RM80 value)
Tyre alignment (RM45 value)
Nitrogen tyre inflation (RM40 value)

all for RM20. I've already bought mine and scheduled an appointment with them as my car is about to reach 10k in a week  rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

Iriz 1.3 MT Exec, I want to change the tires to 185/14 from standard 175. Anyone know where can change and trade in?
Now already close to 2k km.

Also what is the max speed you can get when you floor the accelerator? Specs said 175km/max.
*
that is 1.6 la..

1.3 CVT top 160km/h
1.3 MT top 165km/h

Mine is 1.3 CVT and I tried before and I could reach 160km/h

Hmm, this is from wikipedia, unless diff from factory spec.
                                        1.3L
Maximum Speed (km/h)  175 (peak force:185) (MT) / 170 (peak force:180) (CVT)

Iriz Wiki
Don't know who maintained that wiki.

check at official Proton website smile.gif

Wikipedia is not accurate..

Reason I asked is that proton site i remember said 165km for MT and 160 for CVT but during my run NKVE ipoh-kl i can reach 175km.h and not reaching the floor yet. Usually my merc can go to 210/220 km/h at that stretch. probably before proton city stretch if i'm not mistaken. i got a feeling it can probably max to 185-190 if reach the floor. Have to give way to audi tail-gating behind before I can reach the floor. RPM was hovering around 5-5.2k. No passenger. It was only for 2 minutes and even tho it was comfortable, i wouldn't go 160km or above for long period with this car. 140 km is probably best fast cruising speed for this car. at least you dont let vivas, axias overtake you.
*
Is the highway downhill a bit? I have no idea, i only tried at DUKE highway behind my house at 4-5am in the morning lol. I pushed it to 160km/h thats all. Didn't really push anymore to see if it can go faster than 160..
Just wanted to test see whether it can reach the max speed Proton claims it could and am just happy that it is able to match what Proton said. So anything more is just a bonus biggrin.gif

and yes, the car is still very stable and doesn't shake like a madman like in Myvis/Vivas/Axias when going over 100+ km/h which is very commendable for Proton.. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
