Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) said a new spot fixing methodology for US dollar/ringgit trade, based on market transaction data, will be implemented from July 18.

In a statement today, BNM said that under the new methodology adopted by the central bank and the Financial Markets Association of Malaysia (FMA), the reference rate will be known as the Kuala Lumpur USD/MYR Reference Rate.

The move is part of the effort to adopt global best practices for the domestic financial market, BNM said, adding that another measure involves the expansion of the official closing hour for onshore ringgit market from to 6pm from 5pm.

国家银行进一步放宽马币汇市交易,每日闭市时段,从下午5时延长至6时,以更加贴近国际外汇走势。

同时每日银行间的马币参考汇价,将是以早上8时至下午3时的汇兑行情加权计算。

Agree migrate.
But Malaysia still got plenty of cari makan opportunities.
We must not give up our citizenship. Many countries PR is enough for investment and education.

I can foresee it will become from worse to worst in next 10 to 20 yrs. really hopeless

unless miracle happens but that's quite impossible.

Some summaries caught this monring,....

•China GDP is on track. Economic re-balancing is working. Price chart is stable
•Market direction depends very much on US data
•Trump win is bad for stocks and USD. Clinton win is good for stocks and USD.
•NZD and AUD are currently the stronger currencies.
•EUR expected to be weak regardless of Brexit result
•If Brexit, sell GBP for short term. Do not think that its the end of the world. Take profit fast because ◦News that it may take 2 years to leave EU.
◦EU likely respond by implementing monetary easing

•If no Brexit, buy GBP for the longer term
•Japan expected to intervene soon in monetary easing or stimulus in July or earlier. Yen is reaching its base soon.
•Gold is expected to do well in current market situation

Analysts say Bank Negara Malaysia’s new methodology of spot fixing for the US dollar/ringgit will reduce bank collusion in fixing ringgit rate, while making it more market-driven.

So this means that exchange rates at banks will be better after the new methodology kicks in ?

I'm just wondering, why use this system only for the USD/MYR exchange and not for all RM pairs with major currencies ?
