Ne ne, minna-san, care to recommend any good manga? I'm currently d/loading mangas and are looking for really good ones. It'll be great if you guys could recommend both good and bad manga titles and give a brief review of it. I'm sure alot of us in here would appreciate it.

Of all the mangas that I've read, my personal favourites are :

Great Teacher Onizuka - it's hilarious yet philosophical at the same time. Couldn't get enough of it. I started out watching the live action GTO before moving on to the anime and finally the manga. Three versions differ from each other in terms of storyline. I prefer the manga way way more than the anime. ^^

FullMetal Alchemist - Again, the manga branches away from the anime mid-way and is totally refreshing ( I watch the anime first ). There's way more hilarious moments in the moment and the secrets behind each character are more detailed. thumbup.gif

It's becoz Death Note is not an action manga, it's a detective manga which involved with lot of conspiracy theory. laugh.gif

I am a manga collector, and actually I don't read manga online. I buy them. So you can imagine how many volumes of manga kept in my private room (more than 3000 volumes).

I recommend:

1. Yakitate!
2. Addicted to Curry
3. He is my Master
4. D-Gray Man
5. Samurai Deeper Kyo
6. Kindaichi
7. One Piece
8. Rurouni Kenshin
9. Getbackers
10. Detective Q
11. Keroro
12. Verdant Lord
13. Gintama
14. School Rumble
15. Magister Negi magi
16. Whistle!
17. Law of Ueki
18. GTO
19. Saint Seiya

And there are more, but I only have their Mandarin titles. I dunno their english titles. blush.gif

About the bad manga titles, I would say Shaman King. Becoz the ending is kind of ridiculous. After I read that ending, I realized this series has wasted my money, on buying all 33 volumes of them. shakehead.gif

Fortunately, the anime version is much better than the manga version. thumbup.gif

And another bad manga title IMO, is Conan The Detective. At first, it's quite interesting. But somehow the content is kind of confusing. And the story is too long, making it started to become boring nowadays. shakehead.gif

I had stop Conan till 40++.

IMO Conan case are quite ridiculous and illogical compare to Kindaichi. The only interesting things that made me follow it till 40++ is he will have new gadgets and i want to know the progress how he will become adult back again (if he can) but unfortunately the story drag too long until i find it very boring

I don't really read much shounen manga, mostly I read shoujo manga. Urm.. for shounen manga, I think Rurouni Kenshin is still the best ever. Shoujo will be Fruits Basket, Ouran and anything by Arina Tanemura (her drawing is so cool!!)

I also suggest Law of Ueki, nice story.
Have you read Hunter X Hunter? The story is very nice but the art sweat.gif
I agreed that Conan is juz crap. too draggy and too much nonsence. Prefer Kindaichi to Conan too.
Why no one mention the immortal Dragon Ball flex.gif by Akira Toriyama?
Btw I like his Dr. Slump too. rclxms.gif

I like Law of Ueki coz the battles are quite creative and non-draggy.

Togashi is famous with his creative idea but crappy drawing as u can see in HxH and Yuyu hakusho. But sometimes his ideas are too complicated to understand especially in HxH

IMO, Dragon Quest > Dragon Ball....

DBZ is just like "arghh, how can i lose to u, i'm gonna train again, power up 100x, no, i only use 30% of my power, i power up again" ....LOL

And the most legendary manga that i like the most is Yaiba. I can't find any of this online, saw malay version in the market but dam expensive, RM5 per book sweat.gif

i remember i did watched yaiba anime during the old days in video tape (how i wish there are VCD or DVD that time tongue.gif ) but anime only shows half way of the manga where Yaiba defeats his eternal enemy with his "dragon" element ball sword.

manga did showed till he get both thunder and wind sword.

really consider to buy the manga in malay version

when I was at my high school, I collects near a thousand volumes of mangas, but sadly almost all of them were thrown out by my brother.
but then, re-collect again... up to 200-300 volumes of manga again. off course at that time all my manga is in malay.

later when I start learning japanese, my 1st manga collection is love hina...... I really recomend this. it's not the ordidary harem manga, but it is the king of harem... lol

then I bought Naruto (not from the first episode, but at the time newest volume)... dont need to tell this, everyone knows naruto.

then, here in japan, I started colecting mangas again...

now I have thousands of volume again... (empires strikes back!)

my recommendation:

Me-Gumi no Daigo aka kisah ahli bomba (who read KREKO knows how great this manga is)

Ahiru no Sora... basketball manga. the best since Slam Dunk finished. Funny, dramatic and full of bask8ball actins. Hope someone willing to transalate this.

Kurosagi aka the black swindler..... read this if you dont want to be cheated. very good manga. really helps for those who learns law and economics

Mobile Suit Gundam: the Origin: written by the character designer of the 1st GUNDAM. after you read this, I guarantee than you realize how BAD the UC series are (esp SEES and Destiny)

Bleach: you know this.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Eva in manga

Genshiken: great art... and great story. this is what otaku is. an in fact, the story of this manga is nearly same as the creator of love hina, akamatsu ken campus life, said himself.

honey and clover: the best shoujo manga. suitable for non-yaoi manga fan. very nice story and art. and very funny.

Fullmetal Alchemist... manga>TV series... TV series is good, but the manga is beter.

Battle Royale: some hard core action.. gore... and fanservices

Death Note... you know

etc etc etc
