Must have lots of Chinese bloatware apps, Hi this Hi that right?
*
Not that many, about 10 which I can easily disable them at settings. Some can be uninstalled too
Will only do a cleanup after firmware update
I don't seem to have any notifications issues - whatsapp n email received without any problems when phone was idle. Anyway only some users are reporting such problems only

Tested Action3 n Nova launcher but noted upon reboot the Widgets took long long time to appear back
Probably is Marshmallow bug as never faced such issues on previous HW phones
Anyway now I revert back to stock emui n this time HW had improved it as allocating app to folder was simply easier - no more dragging n just tap + n select app accordingly

Battery life had been simply in one word amazingly good!!
Based on my usage mix of wifi n LTE on mainly internet based stuffs ( browsing, RSS, tweeter, facebook, mail, news feed, youtubes) n plenty whatsapp (50+ a day), some calls, audio I could easily record at least 9-10 hours SOT. With only wifi on I projected it could go up to 12 hours !!
Is overall even much better than previous Mate7
The battery app function is very useful n I basically turn off all background auto load app except for whatsapp n maildroid

i already place my order at spemall after read your review rclxms.gif
btw uncle benny, i started to worry about custom..did you facing any problems when u bought phones through oversea websites?
*
Depend on how seller declared it. Both my V10 n this Mate 8 was declared as digital camera with value I remember about us100+
So both phones delivered to me directly and I need not pay any GST or apply sirim permit
If custom hold it is quite easy to apply sirim - I have posted a guide on Nexus6 thread page1 on how to do it. GST of 6% you can pay directly to courier company
Don't ever allow courier to apply sirim as they usually charge another expensive service fee of rm200-300 on top of the rm100 for sirim permit. Just do yourself all online

Because GsmArena review only give 'below average' for Mate 8's loudspeaker, thats make me worry about it.
*
Other users here n there are already few of us already could advise you on their assessment
Till now I am very happy with the speaker volume quality..even at maximum there is no "cracking" effect as in Nexus 6P. Phone calls are crystal clear n is one of the best amongst all the phones I had used.
You shouldn't let one poor review affect your opinion . Try reading more reviews and plenty of sites now on such review.

I don't select or unselect any web reviews
Every reviewer view the product differently
Eg on camera evaluations, audio quality these are subjective
I will just take note of all their comments
As i am using the phone the best reviewer is myself for myself and my opinion could be different from another user!
To date only issues that slightly bug me is inability to install more font types n slow refresh of widgets on 3rd party launchers.
There is no perfect 10/10 phone yet. Every phone will sure has some weakness

I am happy with overall performance, app load speed, camera, display, audio quality, smoothness, battery life
Some reviewers criticize the default UI with no app drawers while some like it n said is a big improvement over previous versions. For me the default UI is perfectly fine with me though i do miss Nova extra features. The slow refresh of widgets on Nova makes me to choose back default UI.

Whatsapp notification bug now hitting me past 2 days. Seems is quite a common problem reported based on user feedback at XDA
Sometimes the whatsapp notification doesn't showup at status bar while it does at times. Anyway is not a critical issue for me
It was fine previously
My maildroid notification remains good

what about the retail price....aiyaya....cant wait...thought of getting friend's help to grab one from china  tongue.gif

I guess for the 4gb ram/64gb should be around rm2k.4-2.6k. I don't think HW can ask for higher pricing as many buyers has still little faith n confidence in the brand
I had used before Mate 6.1, X1, Mate 7 n now having P8max n Mate 8 - all these are good phones though they had some minor cons. There is no perfect 10/10 phone yet

Just hope HW doesn't limit it to the 3gb ram/32 gb version only
In Nexus 6p they officially brought in only the 64gb leaving out the 32gb and 128gb models

The Champagne Gold and Mocha Brown colors are only available for the 64GB and 128GB variants right?

Since Huawei has confirmed that all four colors will be available here, I guess it's safe to say that they will bring in 32GB and 64GB variants?
*
Sorry not too sure about the colors allocation?
Mine is Mocha brown and is indeed unique nice color out of the ordinary

Gouki - Very true . Based on my experience using all the HW phones except P8max ( china set) the firmware updates for Msian models is horribly very slow. While China n Euro sets gets 5-6 firmware updates, one is lucky Msian set gets even one update !! So I always flash euro firmware on my ex HW phones

The app push notification seems to be working well
I had successfully seen notifications shown for all my past 20+ whatsapp messages since installed
Thanks for the tip

where to request unlock code from huawei? hmm.gif
*
Email mobile@huawei.com giving them your phone details : Just a simple line to request unlock code

IMEI - first imei is enough
Serial Number
Product ID : To get this - Bring up the dialer and enter the characters below. An 8-digit ID will then be displayed.
*#*#1357946#*#*

You might need to remind them few times to respond to your request for unlock code
You can write email in English

BTW OLD news from Android Central - firmware B156 has already incorporated this Feb 1 security patch
