==> You'll Never Walk Alone <==

http://www.unbase.com/n/5853623009

When you walk through a storm hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm there's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
For your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

Little timid

Rather insipid at times

Little cohesion at times

Less possession

But Hard fought and 3 points for the win. I'll take it.
Klopp is good, it shows with tweaking even a tired 'B team', slight hangover from Europa shows a team desiplined to sticking to game plan. Rotating is the way

No courtinho, no lucas, no problem. YNWA

The team looked a bit "tired", didn't move the ball faster, hence lesser open chance can be created, and with the absence of Coutinho, there was lack of creativity and driving force on the final third.

3 points with Lovren, no Coutinho, and clean sheet? It was something unthinkable months ago.

Btw, Klopp didn't watch his players took penalty one. He watched the fan reaction instead. biggrin.gif

can was commanding and disciplined as he replace the role of lucas. hendo's presence was much more felt in the final third rather than sturridge. maybe sturridge want to avoid injury because he knows he too taufu already. got 1 chance to score if he stretch his leg that time.

Having a bad game/day = Benteke, Firmino, and Ibe.

Still, a win is a win, 3 points in the bag! Hendo is back! So do the glassman! Hope his glass doesn't break again anytime sooner.

So far, Klopp record is still very good, hope our good record and form can continue as long as possible.

Can't be asking too much, since this weekend all front table team drop point while our team getting full points, allow us to close down the distance. 6 point off the top table currently.

Currently, my concern is we still can't easily break down the parked bus when away team play with us. Frontline need to be more clinical to score early goals to force away team stop parking bus and come at us.

If JK able to solve this porblem, top 4 is not far from us.

Jurgen Klopp wil just rotate. No problem

He has plan B, if one chooses to see it that way or otherwise.

A Plan that can work. Know players strengths. Who seems to click better with which, etc.

Boring or not entertaining enough so be it. Those exciting football can come later, once we return back to the top and Klopp can get right reinforcements

Liverpool paid over £14.3 million in fees for agents between October 2014 and September 2015 – more than any other Premier League club.

During that period, the Reds signed eight players;
Joe Gomez,
Adam Bogdan,
James Milner,
Danny Ings,
Nathaniel Clyne,
Roberto Firmino,
Christian Benteke and
Allan Rodriguez.

Six of those eight were domestic players signed from other English sides, whether that has affected the large amount of money paid to agents isn’t clear.

Acquiring Milner on a free transfer means that a hefty signing on fee can be expected there. (Zzzzz not as free as some think it is, it's considerable I guess)

Liverpool’s £14.3 million paid to agents is half a million more than the nearest club, Man United (£13.8m).< alarming to know considering man utd spent quite a bit on transfers. Staggering amount isn't it 😳

Liverpool’s Agent Fees – Last 5 Years
14-15: £14,301,464

13-14: £14,308,444

12-13: £9,400,973

11-12: £8,600,444

10-11: £7,000,243

Total: £53,611,568😳😳

*note: we always ONLY see the players transfers fee,
but never aware of amount of agent figures. (As they are separate from the total fee we see published on the media)

Really staggering figure, and really "amazed" by topping the club spent on agent fee. But after the money had been spent, the club is with no CL, and players were deemed not good enough previously. Remember this statement? sweat.gif

bogdan, ings and milner are free transfers so hefty agent fees are pretty much expected. ings abit exception because we still need to pay a fee to burnley. and we do spend a huge amount on transfers, as much as mu and mc transfers.

Aidy "the Scrub" Ward is far from reaching the level of those 3.

Just have a look their list of clients and list of deals they have brokered to realize how much influence they have in football.

Reserve teams no longer exist and is now called the U21.

Maximum of 3 unassigned players can play for the U21/Reserves.

In addition to Fellaini, Sergio Romero their backup GK also played in the match. The rift between LVG and Valdes was because of Valdes' refusal to keep playing in the U21 for match fitness reasons.

Definitely Lionel Messi for 2015.

If El Pistolero keeps up his form and Barca win another treble (looks likely), he certainly will be nominated for 2016 Ballon d'Or.

Just to update.

It looks like Astro will not be showing the English Capital One League Cup this season too.

So Astro only have the rights to the Bpl, Champions League and Europa League. Looks like they are saving their money to win the new rights for the next 3seasons of d BPL which is coming soon.

The list of leagues Astro have dropped:
1. Italian Serie A
2. French Ligue 1
3. English League Championship.
4. English Capital One League Cup.
5. Spanish La Liga - Previous rights was with Fox Sports
6. German Bundesliga - dropped by Astro, picked up by Fox Sports

He improving but so far at his very very best, he isn't anywhere near Reina at his peak. Hopefully mignolet improve sooner than later.

Looking back, I view:-
1. Ray Clemence
Played - 665
Goals conceded - 488
Average - 0.75

2. Pepe Reina
Played - 285
Goals conceded - 200
Average - 0.77

3. Bruce Grobbelaar
Appearance - 628
Goal conceded - 534
Average - 0.85

Maybe mignolet would share 4-6 placings with dudek, fridel etc.

Migs' average isn't anywhere within top 3 in LFC's books

Note: Pepe Jose Reina achieved 50 ‘clean sheets’ in fewest number of league matches, 92, beating the previous record held by Ray Clemence by three matches.

Reina is well known for his distribution, and ability to save penalties. He has set a number of goalkeeping records for Liverpool and won the Premier League Golden Glove award for clean sheets in his first three seasons at the club.

Rested Mig, Clyne, Coutinho, Benteke, Firmino, Moreno (partially).

Gave Sturj and Hendo some fitness and confidence gaining game time.

Xavi Allen fulfilling his prophecy under Klopp.

Origi scoring a hat trick.

Get to see Brad Smith and Connor Randall in action.

What else?

You know shit just got real when the striker dubbed as the worst in French Ligue hits a hattrick.

Classic example a change of manager is good for the player.

Yes, the ball was supposed to be saved by keeper.

He altered the ball direction causing it to run to middle of keeper.

Southampton the initiative, particularly when Sadio Mane headed home the opener after 39 seconds, the quickest goal in this season’s competition. Right-back Connor Randall looked helpless against Dusan Tadic, while Mane ran rings around Alberto Moreno.

Yet such is the confidence in Klopp’s squad – something references by both Nathaniel Clyne and Adam Lallana this week – that early setbacks do not faze them. By half-time Liverpool had one-and-a-half feet in the semi-final. By full-time they had trodden all over the toes, fingers and Wembley dreams of their opponents.

Divock Origi had also become only the eighth player in as many years to score a hat-trick for Liverpool. Members of the club’s much-criticised transfer committee might have poured themselves a large one on Wednesday evening.

Maybe it just needed the right manager.

You can tell from Klopp's post match interview, all smiles and he is beaming with pride.

Not the type who moans about not getting his type of players who can playhis style of football, talking about rebuilding n transitioning , he instead works his magic with the players he inherited while maintaining his humility in front of the media. Most important of all, Nvr he slagged any of his players.

The difference.

Character semua ada

But it's how and knowing to harness them to the right blend and extract the best from them.

(That) Somebody needs to learn how to do it right. (meant in a positive way, for him and his legions of followers) it seems almost all the tools were there, it always was.

A 180 turnaround 👍🏻👌🏻

This is what a leader/manager should do. Be responsible, and not blaming the Anfield pitch, etc etc when lose.

Watching JK's post match presser is so much fun! This guy won a few more hearts today.

Must admit, we beat a really strong Soton today. Young lads did well, and hopefully the youngsters will have more game time in Cup ties and also the coming Europa game. Dead rubber, with nothing to lose (maybe topping the grp gives easier opponent), Randall, Origi, Allen and maybe Flano shd feature.

Maybe the Palace game served us a really good wake up kick. JK was disappointed that the fans left early. I think he made it a point to the lads that he wants EVERYONE to stay til the final whistle and the boys responded marvelously.

Our winning run will come to an end but as of now, we should all enjoy the ride.

One interesting stat is under JK, whenever we conceded goal in first half (vs Chelsea, CP, Rubin Kazan, Soton), LFC will equalize it before half time (we never trailed after half time).

Under Kloppo, this team really shows lots of character.

Origi and Ibe show that potential is limitless

Admit it, you had your doubts about Divock Origi, didn't you? You wondered about his touch, his movement, his quality. nod.gif

It's okay, we all did. But the Belgian delivered the most sensational of ripostes here with a performance that will live long in the memory.

Jurgen Klopp rates this lad. He spoke openly about that. This was why.

Origi showed he is listening, he showed he is capable of making intelligent runs, of holding off defenders and, as the game wore on, of getting into goalscoring positions and finishing.

His first goal was a poacher's effort, a tad fortunate maybe. His second and third were superb, a brilliant drive and a nice header. Perfect hat-trick, thank you very much.

JK's faith for his players is unshakable and rubs on to the players. Origi esp has been touted as a flop, but he responded and took his chances well. Don't see him being 1st choice as yet but this boy will get his chances. Maybe more Cup ties and some Europa games.

Randall, Smith and the recalled Wilson will be developed further. So are Wisdom, Ibe, Marko, Tex etc. Future looks good!

Well there is a saying the grass seems to be greener on the other side. Well, we been getting stick for the last about 3 seasons, and 2 seasons without CL football under "TOSNBN" (and include that too was the embarrassing exit from CL group stages).

Come on, we haven won any trophy yet, we are looking tidy for now (not complaining) 😎😎 so I think manu fans shouldn't be sooo mad (yet) 😜

Better to stay grounded even after such a big win. Klopp's admittance to still being annoyed at the loss against Palace and saying that yesterday's performance was "not perfect but very good" shows that he will always want more from the squad, which is a good thing.

It is truly amazing that ATTITUDE and CONFIDENCE are such critical factors in football too. Of course, it takes an honest and skilful manager to bring these back.

I particularly enjoyed the second goal and am so surprised that we have such good passers of the ball in Allen and Can.

If everyone stays fit, we have ample options for both midfield and attack. Only in defence we are a little thin, but if our youngsters grow in confidence, that will also not be a problem.

Great win, but as someone rightly pointed out, we have won NOTHING yet!

There are some murmurs (lesser these days, as they have all but gulped as how promising klopp's effect of late), a few weeks back, murmurs that klopp doesn't/didn't blast our previous manager, so fans should not too (criticize the past minder)

To them, I have to add, klopp is all positive man. Even if things, chips are down, he wants to stay positive. He's diplomatic and of course he need not have to say unfortunate things about the manager he replaced. He mr.nice guy, and the result speaks for themselves.

Players already said they don't mind training sessions of late, esp under klopp is boring (me euro said that) but they can see the positive effect on games.

I just also want to say this, a lot of people use "if", "if this", "if that", 1-2 seasons ago, well...😇

...IF we had klopp when we had Suarez, sterling, sturidge and Gerrard Etc, perhaps we would have won the league, at least too reach the champion league final, and bloody hell not sell our best players.

Sorry, I just had to 👌🏻👌🏻😅😁

I thought MU doing not bad? They are winning games, although few ugly wins, but still a win and 3 points right?

If talk about spending 200+m, logically that team must be winning trophies, but let's just look at BR too, both of them same same 1. No wonder LVG is BR sifu's sifu. possession possession possession tongue.gif

No matter what MU are in position to be challenging for EPL. We are not, no matter how good we are playing at the moment. Time will tell if we can sustain it, but I think MU fans have a lot to be happy about.

Totally forgotten that gold quote. Now you reminded me again, so by spending almost 300m, one should be challenging the title, additional = challenging for CL, and challenging for treble as well? tongue.gif

Honestly there might be truth they are secretly admirers of our club. Back then Fergie was so Fobsessed with Fknocking us off the perch (which he did). 😓 Yet, the obsession is still there 😆(perhaps jealously?) that the world and many celebrities, and top managers still gives a shit about us. 😌

Their fans on several occasions continue to bit&h and sing certain songs at OT (usually always not flattery) even when we aren't playing against them. 😁😁

Here's to you, Manu fans 🍺🍺 for showing us some respect and tQ for dropping by here even when you are 250million fee (spent) ahead in 2seasons 😂

He say if you spend more than 100M, you should challenging for title.

BUt then of those 300M, he will tell you some portion of player is imposed to him by TC (Remember he say give me the proper tool, i will do the job).

Jurgen Klopp says Philippe Coutinho has failed to recover from a hamstring problem in time for Liverpool’s visit to Newcastle on Sunday.

Klopp said: “I like optimism. But with Phil, we were too optimistic. Sometimes it happens like this.”

“He tried everything he could. He trained nearly normally but he doesn’t feel comfortable with it. We have to take care of this. The muscle is a dangerous thing when you are always on your feet, and when you don’t feel comfortable you have to stop.

“He is training. We will wait. It somebody can tell me he’s available for the next game, then he plays, no problem. But yesterday nobody gave me that sign. So today we will have to wait again.”

Irony...

"He (Lucas) is not the player he once was"

"(Sell him) Best he move on"

"He is fragile, make too many mistakes, that's why Liverpool isn't functioning as well"

"Rate him behind hendo, can, lallana, allen, is there a place for him?"

...the irony..

Every time there was talk to sell him (in the past). But I think he is such a guy that mixes well with every player. He ain't as young as before but it could just well be the right time to peak in his career and help Liverpool for honours.

I just read it on 'this is anfield'. Sorry about that PPZ.

More sad for him than for Liverpool. Much too young to get such a serious "incurable" injury. Let's hope that injection he mentioned can work for him or that there is a breakthrough in sports medicine that can help players like him.

Not really. Plantar fasciitis is a rather common injury even among non-athletes. Carra had it. It is manageable. Just blown out of proportions by sensationalistic journalism.

Useriously ppl.

I think sensationslised (pot crack) journalism may have breadth evil thoughts to the weak.

If there is any worrisome it would be sturidge who only started half of the games, in the long run we need to managed it or rethink. The onslaught needs every player to stand up and be counted.

Hendo will return. If he runs funny, klopp will see n identify how he can manage it. He n his ppl have in the 2 months able to play to players strength and assisted them to release more creativity than before or the last 3years.

Even Allen seems to reap the benefits and not be hackled to forever side passing 👍🏻

Firmino: I was very happy when Klopp came

Roberto Firmino is the latest Liverpool player to declare their love for Jurgen Klopp, saying he was “very happy” when he was appointed.

“I was very happy when he was appointed. I hadn’t really been playing up to that point, but (Klopp) knew me and I knew him. We get on well.

He gets on with all the players.

Newcastle has some good players who can suddenly 'wake from their slumber' and do a Palace on us. Moreover McClaren is already playing some psychological game by calling Liverpool "title contenders" and praising Klopp.

We travelled to play midweek and are without Can and Coutinho.

I hope our manager right down to our reserves will keep their feet firmly on the ground!

I don't like what I've seen of Benteke and Milner thus far.

No movement from Ben. Poor passes and touches by Milner.

Disagree completely. In case you have forgotten BR stuck with him for half a season as a lone striker. It is only when he's had enough that he slotted Sterling upfront.

Let's also not forget how Balo loves going to ground, holds the ball for far too long and taking ridiculous long shots.

Benteke is a better team player and had already surpassed Balo's half season.

BR? Ok lol.

So there is varieties of reason on hating Balotelli then. Thought people hate him only because he is lazy and doesnt defend.

Not me at least.

I'm less concerned about his lack of effort but more about aspects of his gameplay.

And I still maintain that he wouldn't suit Klopp's demands.

No it's our players. Milner, Ben and Firmino didn't play midweek and this is what they could bring?

At least I know I've seen more hope in Struj and Lallana in 5mins than the rest for over 60mins.

Ibe did some good dribbles but passing and crosses were terrible.
Benteke just waiting around for the ball.
Firmino nothing much.

Not really a fan of Milner. He did look good in mancity but here.. Not really.

Guess we really do miss Coutinho and Can maybe. Wished Henderson came on..

The skrtel gamble was good though lol.

Lose - blame match fixing

Win - all Klopp's glory

Why we lose after changing 6 players? Because the players who came in didn't fucking bothered turning up that is why!

Sometimes things didn't go as planned. One of those days. Things appear to be happening at right time. Maybe Klopp can think to reinforce in coming winter transfer window. Something is missing from the team. Well, Bayern lost too sometimes tongue.gif.

This is a different tactic employed by Mclaren, where he was happy to let Liverpool have possession. and it worked to his favour. U can't expect the same pressing game when we have possession most of the time.
To me benteke was a disappointment, he used to make good movement and run few games back, but not today.

I think knowing the opposition tactic, we should have made the change at half time, and attack earliest possible. Well, something that Klopp should learn from this game.

You could say Newcastle looked more like the Klopp team than we did.

They hunted in packs and threw men forward to counter attack as soon as they win the balls.

Wonder why newcastle's 2nd goal didn't show if it is on side or offside. At first glance saw it as offside. Would love to see the analysis (same analyse done for Moreno "offside" goal).

I think it is a problem to start Benteke as a lone striker. He doesn't come in to receive the ball and stay up as target man always. The midfield lose out to newcastle and we don't have clue to bring the ball up to final third. Firmino is having a bad game. Clueless and low working rate. I hope we can switch the formation to at least 4-4-2 in order to compensate Benteke who is not mobile enough.

We need him because of his toughness and big size and at the same time, we need an intelligent player like sturridge to link up when he head the ball in the air.

Enough lah conspiracy theorists.

Lose - blame match fixing

Win - all Klopp's glory

Why we lose after changing 6 players? Because the players who came in didn't fucking bothered turning up that is why!
*
Yup agree.

Players looked like they had too much to do and forgot how to implement it. No sugar coating. Terrible game for Liverpool.

This time around the team let down fans.

Saw a comment having a midfield of Milner + Joe Allen + Lucas is a no-no.

Looks like Klopp needs to rethink playing these 3. Maybe he wanted fresher legs. The chemistry didn't work out.

If he needed to see it live, I guess this defeat illustrates that for him

Granted we cannot always win. But with top teams all dropping points. It was a good chance to close up. Really 🤕🤕

just relax and imagine BR is still manager...then everything is alright tongue.gif

the blame can be put on everyone...from lucas, ibe, skrtel etc etc etc.
but for me the main person is benteke.
everytime benteke plays, the whole team style changes just to suit him as he cant run or track back as fast or even roam around...rather just preferring to stay up front leaving a nice gap between him and the rest of the team...in essence we play with 10men everytime with benteke.
i wouldnt be surprised if benteke is eventually sold, then again at the price he was bought for really need a waterfish team or maybe just loan him back to villa... tongue.gif

Agreed. The only thing I can see he cannot play alone in the final third. He need someone to work hard as hell to feed him the ball. He should have scored in the first half where he can loft the ball into the goal post.

Still early

While we praised Klopp for transforming and utilizing a team that he didn't have a hand, we should know he needs to see the limitations of such a combinations.

We lost because we never recovered from being robbed of a goal. It happen3d. The team will feel grounded no doubt

Moreno's goals was wrongly flagged offside.

If Moreno goal was given, and Sturridge took his striker well, and Skrtel deflected goal did not go in acute angle or top corner, the scoreline might be different.
The difference was so thin marginally. Just the win against Swansea with penalty due to handball.

Having said that, it was one of poor game out of many by Klopp's Liv, 1 shot on target spoke all, Newcastle deserved the win with more determination and spirit and better game plan execution.

The team clearly lose its shape and fluidity without Coutinho and Can aggressiveness.
We saw lack of gegenpressing in the match.

We don't need to bluff ourselves, the team has long way to go.

Before whacking the bigger teams, they thought it was there for the taking, a piss poor Liverpool from the start of the season.

Newcastle rightly choose to 'allow' us to take the game and left little room. I agree if courtino started it might help in the dimension of the game (but he's injured)

I suspect klopp already knew newscastle will play as such (hence benteke gets a role) it's the the combination didn't get the job done right. sad.gif

Ibe looked lively on the ball, but the timing and quality of passing were poor, may be this time Klopp may need to lend a timer instead of glasses.

Allen was a weak link in the yesterday match, contributed little on both offence and defence.

Anyway, Klopp honesty (the team played poorly) are liked many, instead finding excuse or single out any player for the loss.

There is no easy game in EPL, see this week result, only Arsenal managed to get a slim 2-1 win against Sunderland that also on paper should be an easy match against a relegation threaten team.
Most so called "big team", dropped point or loss, while Leicester top the table, which make why EPL is an exciting league to watch, instead of only a few team always win in other league.

With the new TV money, CL football is no longer a sole lucrative financial source, so other team also got some financial power to hold/sign on some good players.

Give our Welsh Pirlo a break laugh.gif , he was not the worst player on the field. Not outstanding but he did ok.

Glad to see Lovren is getting more confidence in the field. Could be our best defender against Newcastle IMO.

Lol taking offense at me saying Rudi Garcia sucks which is the consensus of majority of Roma fans right now?

Sure my team sucks and yours gonna win the title? Will Liverpool win the title? Of course not in the near future but that doesn't mean I can't support other underdog teams of other leagues to go on to win theirs.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with Sturridge's injury record and only just recently began to buildup match fitness. Oh and Origi yeah he scored a hattrick but he went over 10 games without a goal before that - let's just conveniently forget all that and believe that he is suddenly a saviour of the club.

Ancelotti was a former Roma player so 'bringing him back' is accurate.

Also my statement of 'Win the Serie A' is meant as a support of Roma taking the next step to halt the dominance of Juventus in Italy. But hey if you wanna be butthurt and think of it as insult then sure go ahead. Just proves how you shitty you think of your club that everyone is out to troll you.

This is how you tell he is super insecure about his club. tongue.gif

Sacking Rudi Garcia is what majority Roma fans are spouting on forums right now and I'm only putting it out there.

Ancelotti is not only the best Italian manager he is also the best manager in the world at the moment. Perhaps he doesn't know Carlo was not only a former Roma player but he was also a former Roma captain.

Even more amusing is him taking offense with 'Win the Scudetto'. It is as if he is saying "no my team sucks and you are insulting us by asking us to win it'.

While McClaren's psychological game may not have worked on Klopp, I think it probably affected some of the players. Of course the media also played a big part by writing how Liverpool will steamroll Newcastle and how many goals the Reds will win by etc..

So when our players did not see the Newcastle players crumbling before them but instead, seemingly ran faster, tackled harder, intercepting passes and playing the way they did last night, some of our players probably just could not lift themselves. Especially the younger, more naïve ones.

Can Klopp reinforce the lessons taught through this defeat. Time will tell. We will have to wait and see.

Now on for Sion and a battle for the top spot in the group!

Red Star Belgrade midfielder Marko Grujic has confirmed he has held talks over a move to Liverpool.

The Liverpool Echo has reported that Liverpool are discussing a £5 million (€6.9m) move for Serbia under-21 midfielder Grujic.

Grujic, a member of the Serbia squad that won this summer's Under-20 World Cup, said he has spoken to Liverpool but he plans to remain in Belgrade until next summer to help the club qualify for the Champions League.

"I will do my best to show respect to the club [Red Star], the public and the supporters, but then I think I need to choose the best environment for myself in which I'll get my chance and work with good coaches in good conditions," he told Blic.

"Maybe something will happen, but there's no rush. I am certainly staying there [Red Star] until the end of the qualifiers for the Champions League. That works for Liverpool too. We had talks and I haven't made any deal yet. I am still a Red Star player."

Sounds like a typical Klopp signing - might be some credibility in this. A very composed 19 year old midfielder with some pretty decent dribbling ability standing at 191cm tall. Helped Serbia win the 2015 U20 WC. Bears some resemblance to Can in his playing style.

Daniel Sturridge injury update: Fears growing over another hamstring lay-off for Liverpool

Concerns are growing that the striker suffered a problem with his hamstring in the defeat to Newcastle at the weekend when he appeared as a second half substitute.

Nothing confirmed but reported by multiple credible sources including Skysports and LiverpoolEcho. Set to be out until New Year at least.

OH GAWD NOT AGAIN cry.gif

And to make things worse...

Liverpool will be forced to spend a second night in Switzerland this week - affecting preparations for Sunday’s Premier League showdown with West Brom at Anfield.

The Reds usually fly straight back to John Lennon Airport after a European away game but that isn’t possible following Thursday night’s clash with FC Sion due to Swiss aviation laws.

As a result Jurgen Klopp’s squad won’t arrive home until Friday afternoon – just 48 hours before the visit of Tony Pulis’ Baggies.

The issue stems from the fact that no flights are allowed to take off from Geneva Airport between the hours of midnight and 6am due to the number of houses in close proximity.

Liverpool are flying in and out of Geneva which is around 160km away from Sion. With the game kicking off at 7pm Swiss time, Liverpool wouldn’t be able to get away from Sion’s Stade Tourbillon until around 10pm.

With Geneva Airport a two-hour drive away, it was too tight for the Reds to guarantee they would make the midnight cut off point. As a result Liverpool will stay nearby before being driven to Geneva on Friday.

Bad home record? Check.

Best striker out injured? Check.

Best playmaker still a doubt? Check.

Tony Pulis parking the bus? Check.

Sidetrack news. No I didn't need to scout the MU LYN post.

Apparently there is rage amongst red devil fans about being out of CL. Many wants LVG head. (Even moyes qualified group stages, LVG spent an enormous budget, it's not helping the wounds)

Citing replacements like ancelotti, pep guardiola, even mourino (shd he be relieved soon by chelsea) but many of them too did wished for our Klopp < the only reason why I brought this up.

I have this to say then, Classy manager knows the best club 😜😎

I think this may go down the worst EPL injury record of a player... doh.gif

Send "2nd team" to play tongue.gif , after all already qualified.
Situation is not the like 2nd team against RM... whistling.gif

It doesn't make much difference whether qualify via top or second of the group.
All are tough opponent across.

Confirmed qualified ad right? Then should not be a problem to rest all key players.

Still you made me chuckle on that 2nd team against RM. laugh.gif

This is more than just resting our first team players. By having more time for match preparation, Klopp will be able to better prepare us tactically for the match. The fact that Klopp himself will be stuck in Switzerland too meant it's all out of the window now.

Ideally managers would prefer more time to watch videos, discuss specific tactical plans and working or practicing them out on the training pitch.

We still need to win the match vs FC Sion to stay top of the group to qualify, so that we can avoid facing stronger team (ie: teams dumped from Champions League).

At knock out stage, there is no such thing of "weak team". Somemore you need to have ability to beat strong team in order to win the trophy as well.

Weak team may be banana skin as well.
See, prior last week against Newcastle,
many said Newcastle was weak team, expect to roll over, but loss 2-0.
While against strong team like Mancity, win 1-4.

Can Europa league knock out stage come with a draw Liv vs MU?

Players like Sturridge should perhaps be paid on a per match basis. If he can keep himself fit then he may end up getting more. That should be a good incentive! Falcao is another one that comes to mind but he is probably past his prime.

Of course, FSG may not think the same. Then again, they have already spent so much on him. It is an escalating commitment. Sell him now and they lose all their investments. Also, which top team would want to buy such a player unless he drops his wage demand drastically.

So keeping him on a piece-meal basis may work out for both club and player. Sturridge should be very thankful for that SAS season that gave him a massive increment in wages.

As for Liverpool, the damage is not irrepairable given Klopp's experience and intelligence. In fact, he may or may not need to buy in January. However, like Carragher, I expect a few important changes this summer. Not many. Emphasis should be on quality.

Michael Owen < terrible, indecisive pundit isn't it??

QUOTE
...Michael Owen’s desperation to prove he is English football’s most ridiculous pundit led to him basically saying that Tom Cleverley is better than Bastian Schweinsteiger.

“We were looking at the players Van Gaal has let go in his reign during the 18 months and I’m sure they would beat tonight’s team,” said Owen on BT Sport. Note the ‘we'; he’s more than a bit chuffed that Paul Scholes and Rio Ferdinand have allowed him into their club.

“We had Rafael, [Nemanja] Vidic, [Jonny] Evans and [Patrice] Evra as a back four. Nani, [Shinji] Kagawa, [Tom] Cleverley, [Robin] van Persie and Chicharito [Javier Hernandez]. [Adnan] Januzaj is another one. [Danny] Welbeck is another one.

“We thought only two outfield players from tonight’s team – Chris Smalling and Michael Carrick – would get into the 11 that he’s actually let go.”

So is that Cleverley over Schweinsteiger? Kagawa over Juan Mata? Javier Hernandez over Anthony Martial?

It’s a tad odd because Owen said this about Schweinsteiger in September when choosing him in a combined XI ahead of any Liverpool players: “He’s a two-footed player, he’s tough, he can get about the pitch. He’s going to be a vital cog in the wheel of Manchester United.”

So in summary (Owen says):
Schweinsteiger is better than Lucas, Emre Can, Jordan Henderson and James Milner, but worse than Tom Cleverley.

good thing he never said anything about character and potential...

"When you see the facts - we went further in the Capital One Cup, qualified for the Champions League group, we have played all these matches and are still in a very good position in the league," he said.

klopp has probably got it right that its all in the head, and that we should bring back that sports psychologist that Woy stole for the england team.

“I think Jamie Vardy can play in any of the front three positions.

"Jamie has only played a couple of games from the start. He should be happy at the moment a) to be in the squad and b) even happier if he makes the team.

Yeah, I hope he does get back to management

After being much maligned by his methods, it's only good to confront the critics.

Don't wait for that 'England' job that everyone touted Rodgers should get it. it's good if he could go back to familiar territory & rebuild his image, reputation
