3 points is all that matters. At least Sturridge didn't get injured while warming up or playing those 20-odd minutes

Priority is top 4. League Cup or FA Cup or Europa League is a very welcome bonus

Better to stay grounded even after such a big win. Klopp's admittance to still being annoyed at the loss against Palace and saying that yesterday's performance was "not perfect but very good" shows that he will always want more from the squad, which is a good thing.

Firmino is just an ordinary player without Coutinho.

It's a German thing. Very normal there. Media going overboard with Klopp's salute to the fans. Nothing else to write.

It was definitely Firmino's assist but he was largely anonymous during the game, especially in the first half. Improved in the second half but still has a lot of convincing to do.

Syukur la menang...so wasteful with the ball against Sunderland. Plenty of room for improvement.

Well let's hope Sturridge comes back soon and doesn't just last 3 or 4 appearances only

Even after a dismal performance, the team only lost 1 point to 4th place this weekend. Syukurlah...
But in reality is, the team is hardly worth 7th place if they keep performing like they did on the weekend. |

Maybe a goalkeeper too?
But yeah, seriously need a good DM who can offer something going forward. Something like Matic last season or even someone like Fernandinho. They can protect the back four but also at least be an extra man to provide goals once in a while. Lucas may have won the most tackles at some point this season but he does not offer a lot going forward. Same goes to Milner. Same with Allen. They are workhorses. Don't provide extra impetus in attack. Emre Can is still developing. Henderson has an injury problem currently. The midfield needs some revamping. And on Benteke, he does not work his butt off but we already knew that before the club signed him. It's hardly surprising. Klopp needs to find a way to play to his strengths when he's in the team. Firmino, no comment. Very frustrating to watch him play. Largely anonymous in games and far too soft for this league. He may be still learning to play in England. Currently, for me at least, he's not good enough and clearly not worth the price paid for him This post has been edited by 8sg9ft: Jan 4 2016, 01:50 PM |

But then again, Benteke is usually isolated upfront. Any long balls or crosses to him, he is up against 2 defenders most of the time. Players like Benteke needs a teammate or two who's willing to make a lot of running to pull defenders away from him and perhaps leave him up against 1 defender or none.

QUOTE(Patt_Hup @ Jan 5 2016, 05:43 PM) +1. It's been some time since we last play 4-4-2, if I remembered it correctly, we use it alot during our title challenging season with diamond formation. Since the defender marked Benteka till so tight, instead of killer pass, our AM can only do random long shots True. Plus the lack of width most of the time is certainly not helping. Lallana, Coutinho and Firmino naturally like to drift to the middle. It's very easy to defend against. Clyne and Moreno clearly not the calibre of Alvez and Alba that can make opposing defenders scramble out wide. Klopp needs to fix the team going forward. |
