Guys, can you view the RN2 screen vertically while wearing polarized sunglasses? I can't view my screen vertically while wearing polarized sunglasses but can only view it horizontally. I know this is usually the case for LCD screens (especially when viewed horizontally) but 2 of my friends' imported RN2 doesn't suffer from this problem. In fact the screen can be viewed both vertically and horizontally while wearing polarized sunglasses.

I am not sure whether this is the case for all local RN2 set or it's just my unit suffering from this problem. Would appreciate it if you guys could check yours.

Thanks!

Hi, I have some questions to ask. Mine is on V7.0.8

1. What is the easiest way to root this phone without going through PC, for simplicity sake? I tried the twrp287.zip of the Method 2 in the miui forum, but it states that "signature verification failed" when I tried to install it from Mi Updater.

2. Is the font on 7.1.1 the same as 7.0.8? I heard that the font cannot be changed, but if its giving the same font as 7.0.8, then I don't mind upgrading, since I won't change my font anyway. Can someone on 7.1.1 post a screenshot of their font here for comparison?

3. If I have rooted my phone, do I need to unroot it first before performing OTA update or a reformatting, or it's fine to do that while my phone is rooted?
*
FYI, just download developer version and flash/upgrade from phone then u get root automatically with updates support.

18+ hours.

Have u guys use greenify? It seems like miui cleaner doing the job same like greenify isn't? When we clean the app from the task, it's force stop the app. So in the greenify app, the app is already hibernated. No need greenify la kot?
*
basically u dont need greenify, but micloud sync could drain your battery. i suggest u turn off micloud sync

Don't know if root can delete all the apps, but recommended to flash global ROM if you don't plan to root.
Or, flash Global ROM, then root it.

You can flash custom ROM as well.
*
i actually suspect directd or satu gadgets flashed to modified miui. and the first thing i've done is clean flash the whole phone. it's easy and quick, just download fastboot and miflash, after u've done download them, reboot your phone into fastboot mode and open miflash.exe then choose the file and flash. your phone will auto reboot and become clean miui just same as mi malaysia set. and AP set seriously too cheap...499 and get same thing as mi malaysia set. XD

Wow! First time I know about this! shocking.gif

It could be a problem for people who wear polarized glasses due to eye problem. I did wear one during the school days. hmm.gif

Totally agree, not all screen are made equal.
Brightness, color reproduction, viewing angle, response time, contrast, battery consumption, all are different.
For IPS, there are different grade of IPS that affect any specified viewing angle and screen contrast too.
So, LCD screen labelled as IPS actually are not made equal.

The only thing that made equal effect is, 1080p screen virtually guarantee no pixelate effect up to 7" screen with at least 323 ppi. Any screen that is over 300 ppi is actually sharp enough for people's eye, unless need used as virtual reality.
