LOL..its not inside.. doh.gif ..Its actually outsite, nearby the quills area but its already completely healed.Even during the pimple infection time, he is still very active.Just bought a new pack of Go Natural for him.Might change his diet soon.He is a big eater..Like around 1 - 1 1/2 pack of cat food every month..lol...

Anyway, just feel that he is becoming quite tame already.Still let me hold him quite for quite some time if the position is right before running away again...

I thought it was inside the ear but somewhere near the surface of the ear, so the vet use something sharp to poke it... hehehe

Hey anyone here have any experience that their hedgehog "boh gey" . i've just found this out when i found it is very "lembik" i push the fellow then it will fall but which will not happen to my fatty female ^^. i put some rough stone in their captive area so that they can make their nails short by themself. Now i'm very worried of it's condition because my male hedgehog likes to bite maybe every night it bites the stone till no teeth. Now i'm very sad see the fellow eat also difficult. i must sooked his foods into the water before it can eat. Btw i'm feeding it with cat food. the pellets are small. Pls help me . Can i take it to a vet maybe to implant a teeth likes humans do ?? cry.gif

walao, vio ur case damn goner already...... to be honest i never trim any of their nails, i prefer them to be as natural as it is.

also i don't like to put a hidebox in their cage. i feel it is unnecessary except when Sora gave litter only did i put it.

Har? First time i hear ppl put stone inside the cage to think that the hedgie will trim their nails with the stone.

Hidebox is still ok lar... at least the hedgie feels secure with a place to sleep inside...

smile.gif well you can always cut their nails when they're eating. I tried once, and don't wanna try it out anymore. I use a nail clipper and clipped off one of Igel's nail, and the "click" sound together with the vibration on her feet makes her curl up into a spike ball.

Bte hao, how's our babies going on? 3 of them still fine? I miss blackie... sad.gif

Please, NO IAMS for hedgehog. It'll cause liver cancer to hedgehogs.

after looking at few petshops it is really a disappointing journey to scout for a good hedgie ;o.

either the price is incredibly inflated, the hedgie itself is wild, old, poor health conditions and obese(sounds like a package from all the pet shop).

seeing this the best bet to get a good deal hedgie now is always from a hobbist breeder. >_>

Vio, I dont think you have other options but to give your hedgie pre-soaked kibbles. What done is done, and soaked kibbles shouldn't be any problem to a teethless hedgie. You rather be doing more job by getting the kibbles soak everytime or lose your little friend there? Remember to take the stone away if you haven't do it.
