going to change gear oil soon, I heard this brand quite good? mine persona 4AT 2009,
currently using Toyota Type IV ATF
Mistubishi Diaqueen SP3
*
No experience with Mitsubishi Diaqueen SP3. If you can spare RM40 to RM50 for a litre of ATF, go for a synthetic ATF like Petro Canada's DuraDrive MV. You should be able to drag this to at least 60,000KM without changing. It's supposed to last the lifetime of your vehicle.

By the way, Toyota Type IV ATF is different from SP3. Some people don't have problems with their car after using it, but your experience may be different. My power steering for some reason had some unpleasant ringing noise after I used Type IV ATF last time since I didn't have SP3/Dexron III. It went away after I switched to Dexron III for the power steering.

My family have a year 2008 Persona AT. (1st generation i think)
"Knocking sound when cornering on uneven surface coming from Front RHS". Am I eligible to claim for that? Did they come out with a better design/ solution to solve that issue?

I notice that the engine sounds louder when approaching 95km/h or ~2800rpm. Eventually can feel the vibration from engine through the throttle pedal since it was new until now. Is this normal?

Do anyone notice Persona will decelerate faster than other car when you release pedal. Feels like powerless when stop feeding petrol. Is that due to its heavy car body weight or just my wrong thought?
*
Which variant? Low/mid/high?

Should be Mid. I am not sure. It is aluminium rim with all disk brake and fabric seats.
*
Oh. It's high line. If yours has rear drum brakes check the brake cylinders. They jam a lot. Service the brakes anyway. The brake caliper pins are normally the most neglected parts. If they don't move smoothly your brakes can be sticky.

Original proton. No headache. Buy from the Proton Parts Centre, or just head to places like Zordaq Motorsport where they carry original parts for Proton cars.

If you want to save a bit of cash, I'm not sure what to recommend you. Just stay away from Kayaba as it will cause your car to be lower than usual even when new.

okay thanks  biggrin.gif

the noise of my car (2008 persona) is really bad once it hits 80kmh+, even when driving at 110kmh I have to increase the volume of the speakers quite a bit to get clear audio.
*
What noise? If wind noise, consider changing your rubber seals. Above a certain speed it's hard to avoid though even with good window and door seals... from my experience after changing everything to new.

QUOTE(kelvin988 @ Oct 21 2017, 07:52 AM)
Planning to get used persona elegencr full spec with cash as my first car, any owner will to share?
Fuel consumtion- is that really so bad during in traffic jam? Like worst than 8km/L
NVH- are the sound proofing good? Will the engine or wind sound  noisy during travel more than 100?
Maintennace - are this car durable and cheap to maintance??
Performance : are this car comfort to ride??
*
FC - Depends on car condition and your driving style, but yes, it can be pretty bad.
NVH - Persona Elegance seems OK compared to first gen Persona. Campro IAFM is noisy above 2.5K RPM. Cruising speed at 110KM/H is around 3000RPM, and this is annoying when you're driving for long distances.
Maintenance - Cheap and durable.
Performance - Comfortable and pretty nice to drive. Don't get cheap and lousy tyres though, otherwise you'll just end up understeering everywhere.

Buy from proton parts centre. Aftermarket like schmaco doesn't last. This doesn't apply for the suprima/preve cfe though. Ori proton doesn't last for this two models.

Hey guys. My aircond knob is now acting up. It will keep turn on-off by itself.
I remember a member mention before we can replace / repair it cheaply instead of buying a new aircond console.
Do anyone know about the info? Thanks!

Having the same problem as well, waiting others to feed if the solution without changing the whole unit is possible.

Had the same issue, but I got mine replaced instead. I never did try repairing the thing, but I remember some said it's just a matter of cleaning up the contact area

And which spec Persona do you own?

hi, almost reach 150k, once in a month will travel to JB. Not really a frequent traveler. I am travel with family. I am on a 2011 (A).
*
Mmhmm.. If your mileage after 2 years+- will only increase by about 30,000KM ~ 40,000KM, there's no point going for tyres with long thread life. You should be changing tyres based on age as well besides wear. Most tyres should last 30,000 to 40,000KM easily.

If your Persona is Base/Medium Line, put more emphasis on grip. The braking system sucks and there is no ABS for B/M Line. If yours has ABS however, just go with any decent tyres like CC6 from Continental. 15" tyres are cheap anyway. Premium ones are between RM200 ~ RM300 per piece only, very similarly priced to average ones.

Thanks for suggestion, Tried that, left the battery off overnite, didnt work, just struggling to take the dashboard out, something is holding it on the passenger side, just cant see what it is
*
This is what I can remember from last time when I removed the dashboard myself:

1) 2x Bolts on the top left of the dash
2) 1x bolt on the bottom left of the dash
3) 2x or 4x bolt on the bottom mid of the dashboard
4) 2x bolts holding the steering column to the dashboard
5) 2x bolts on the top right of the dash
6) 1x bolt on the bottom right of the dash *unsure.

Many have. Total cost for rocker cover seal and sealant is around rm100 or less. You can DIY if you have the tools and time.

Service center, air-cond shop, workshop, or DIY.

You need to remove the centre console and radio/radio panel for this. This is a very easy job.

Hmm.. Go survey at a spare parts shop.. It was less than RM200 for me last time excluding labour. Workshop will quote you labour + part w/ mark up + their own profit

guys , what's the difference between persona 2013 elegance and non elegance edition ? Currently looking for used persona
*
1) Looks
2) NVH
3) ECU
4) Interior material/colour

Buy a H-Line if possible. Avoid the ones with drum brakes and no ABS as the drum brakes have a tendency to stick, and no ABS can cause you to crash easily if you're not familiar with braking/accelerating under slippery conditions.

Elegance model and h line is different? Which version gt abs?

H-line got ABS, the rest don't (as far as I remember).

Elegance is the Face-lift Persona. H-Line refers to specifications (which is full spec).

Elegance model is more expensive than those non elegance model? Elegance model gt h - line? Or the normal persona model gt h - line?
*
Should be slightly more expensive since it's a facelift, but otherwise not by much. There are like 5 variants in total: B-Line, M-Line, H-Line, SV (Elegance only), and one more which I don't remember (also Elegance only). SV spec came out towards the end of the Persona's production. It also comes with ABS and four disc brakes.

You can probably get a H-Line for less than RM20,000 these days.

Can't help you, but if it's in a very good condition and its mileage has not been tempered with.. it's quite an OK deal. Still feel that there's room for negotiation though.
