yea the link i posted shows front type, but the roller Official & Non-Official both uses plastic parts? so if regulator broke can just remove the original from the original motor and install new?

now problem is i dunno is motor or regulator problem.
*
I'm not very clear about the rear window regulator. I think for some batch they were using scissors style window regulators as well for the rear, before it became the one with the plastic. If you want to know, just remove your door panel and you should be able to see the window regulator. The job of removing the door panel is really easy. 5 screws, pry it off, and remove the connection for the driver console.

Edit: I don't remember if the rollers on the scissors type regulator are plastics or metal.

hi, can you tell me the approx locations of the 5 screws for driver door?

the front regulator you showed, all parts are metal except the rollers right coz the reflection i can't see the big gear like plate.

also people mention Bracket, is it same as Regulator, or is it another part because i tried google power window bracket can't find a result.
*
I'm not sure about what bracket they are talking about.

The location of the 5 screws:
a) 2 securing the door handle cover
b) 1 securing the driver console
c) 1 towards the side mirror
d) 1 at the side of the door panel beside the door lock

Yeah. Very low. hmm.gif Bought from used car dealer or direct from ex owner?

The manual is not very useful. The persona isn't very well equipped anyway. I think you'll only need the spec page, auto cruise page, and the alarm page.

I've got a few questions about the wheel bearing noise you experienced previously after changing. Does the noise appear after a while of driving and when you go below 40Km/H, or it appears immediately when you start moving then disappears after a certain speed? Also, does after some time of driving at over 120Km/H causes the noise to be louder when the car slows to below 40KM/H?

I'm started to get pissed off at the new wheel bearings. I never expect to have such a problem and now it's so loud that it's audible even with the windows all closed fully. I'm currently facing "eeee and chi chi chi" sound, in addition to the initial wheeee sound when moving from a standstill.

just now afternoon cannot stand the hot and went aircond shop, so it's expansion valve not functioning well. replaced it together with new compressor oil and gas, aircond seems good now...

How much is the compressor oil and gas? My air-cond is not as cold as I'd like it to be, and also the engagement is kinda rough at times.

Proton Persona SV 1.6 2015 / 2016

Hi everyone, I am looking to buy my first new car and my budget is just RM55K. I am looking for a low maintenance car to travel to work, something that I can afford to pay monthly also. I have been browsing for cars and currently Proton Persona SV 1.6 seems most reasonable for my budget, plus I am looking for a sedan.

My worries, is Persona SV 1.6 a reliable car? Sometimes I see a very good review and sometimes I see a bad review and also very bad reviews about Persona in general. Some shared about their problems with Person within only a few months of purchase, there is also a complain on fuel consumption.

I do not want to get the Persona SV 1.6 and suffer financially. Then it would truly be pointless leaving me to feel cheated.
Please advise and if you have any other cars to recommend within the budget of RM55k please do so. Thank you very much for your time. smile.gif
*
Pros:
1) Simple car, no fancy electronics. So far haven't heard of anyone complaining about ABS failure or airbags failure for example.
2) Fairly decent fuel consumption for highway drives, averaging around 7L to 8L/100KM.
3) Commendable handling and stability
4) Very reliable engine and gearbox. With the exception of a few cases, I haven't been reading much about engine failures for this car. My car also hasn't broken down so far.

Cons:
1) Bad rear seat design. If you buy SE, M or H-Line then it won't be so bad because it comes with an adjustable headrest.
2) Poor engine performance at low speeds, especially if the car is loaded. This contributes greatly to the high fuel consumption for city driving.
3) Leaky doors. Can be fixed, but is annoying.
4) No front speakers (if I'm not mistaken) for SV. Installing front speakers will most likely introduce another point for water to leak into your car unless the installer knows how to deal with this.

So... for the price you're paying, it's actually quite good. If you do decide to get one, get good tints (like over RM7xx), add the original body-kit and muffler tip, or at least the muffler tip so that the exhaust doesn't look like a penis, and you should be good to go. If you're into driving more aggressively, consider upgrading the tyres and brake pads too.

I'm constantly getting 10L/100km 80% city driving, what could be the problem?
*
Uhm... Nothing. The figure is for highway driving at around the national speed limit. I got an average of 8.4L/100Km during my last trip to Ipoh. Average 110KM/H, 180Km/H for a short section. 140Km/h overtaking. Car had 5 people of average weight.

Edit: 7.5L, not 8.5L

Nevermind it was 8.4L/100KM.

Thank you for the kind reply, brother. Yes I do find that the skinny exhaust looks so..cheap. smile.gif Would you recommend the rr mugen bodykit or the R3 bodykit? I will definitely go for a sporty look rather than the normal SV look.

Should I ask the seller to add the accessories before purchase or should I do it myself? I was told that if I do it myself at car accessory shops it would be cheaper.

Currently I would just ask for one of the mentioned bodykits, maybe a nice spoiler, fog lights, better looking steering, muffler tip and sporty rims. Can't think of anything else at the moment. Would it cost a lot?

Over time when I am financially improved, maybe leather seats, better tyres etc.
*
I'd suggest the original Elegance H-line body kit. Looks the best with the car. I bought the Persona muffler tip directly from Proton for RM70 when they had the 20% discount. New one should be around RM100.

Nice. This and the Ws2 extreme additive are really worth it. My engine became quite silent below 3k rpm. Above that it reduced a little. The engine also revs quite fast.

I'm not really sure because of all the reflection, but the front looks a bit like the H-Line lip.

Alignment & Balancing
- Should have done it outside at a reputable tyre shop. My alignment + camber setting for four wheels cost just as much. It should be much cheaper without camber even though the alignment for this car is done for four wheels. Balancing should be around RM20 only for all four wheels.

Radiator Coolant(4 Litre)
- Is this pre-mixed or concentrated? You only need about 20% ~ 33% of the total radiator capacity of concentrated coolant, and this is about 1 litre+ of coolant only.

Gear Oil & Fuel Filter
- I think both of these are supposed to be changed at 60,000KM, but I guess it doesn't hurt to change it early.

RM81.09 service
- What did they do for this? Clean the air-cond filter only? Top up gas? Add compressor oil?

Do you park on an area with a slight incline or decline? If you always engage P and the handbrake and then only release the brake pedal, your car will be mostly held still by the parking pawl. This is why it can be hard to shift out of the P. Next time engage N and the handbrake, release the foot brake and let the car rest, then only engage P.

RM81.09 service is for Minor service, but why need to charge for change radiator coolant, engine tune up and Throttle body service?

it should be included in RM81.09...
*
No comment on the engine tune up (dunno what exactly is this tune up) and throttle body service (no idea what's servicing throttle body). Radiator coolant change is recommended every 2 years or 20,000KM.

Thank you for the kind replies again. I have decided to buy Proton Persona SV, but I do not like the basic look of the steering wheel and seats. Any recommendations?
*
You can consider buying the H-Line Leather seats/covers from Proton, or some compatible leather/PVC covers for the seats which should be cheaper, albeit not that nice in quality. If you're willing to spend over RM2000, you can choose the leather you want and the design as well. Maybe you can get some leather stitched onto the steering wheel too at the same time.

I had a card for a company that does custom leather seats for Proton cars, but I don't know where did it go to.

Thank you for the kind reply, I will check it out. The sales agent told me that I can select the accessories I want, so I believe I can just inform the looks / accessories I want during the booking?

I would like to ask, I love the R3 bodykit and sport rims, does anyone here have a persona with this look?
*
Not sure how reliable it would be getting stuff through your SA. I'd avoid getting tints from any SA because you might end up paying a lot more than you should. You can try asking your SA to get the H-Line seats and body kit for you if you want.

My average according to fuelly/phone app is 9.3L to 12L/100KM. Can't give you proper data as my travelling distance varies every time, plus I regularly go heavy on the throttle.
