One of my family members passed away last year and his 10 year old Proton has been sitting idle. I just managed to transfer the ownership to my name. Road tax and insurance expired many months ago. I wish to get insurance and road tax so that I can sell off the car in the next couple of months. So any suggestion on what I can do? I am thinking 3rd party only and 6 months road tax (if this still exists).

similar priced as the others. but takaful malaysia doesn't have waiver of betterment addon. leaning towards etiqa cus got cashback if no claim, and also further cashback if mileage is low

Only etiqa takaful have 'cashback'. Payment normally in Feb. Also for fire policy.

Both normal and takaful have additional endorsement ... Betterment, Respray etc.

Nowadays, insurance co cannot depend on basic premium only.

I usually visit a few websites to compare price.

Etiqa, takaful malaysia, axa malaysia, msig, tune

I have been long time supporter of etiqa because can use amex to pay + the takaful gives you money back when no claims. Also cause it has always been the cheapest or almost the cheapest.

Then recently someone recommended me poi2u, pacific & orient for cars that are driven very little. For cars that are driven very little, this poi2u has been very very cheap. Buy 5k mileage cukup makan. Especially during this covid period

Btw, for msig, i bought one year, many years ago. if i'm not wrong, msig is cheaper because of a compulsory excess/deductible. So do double check t&c. Things may have changed since it was few years ago.

recently done some surveys online (etiqa, msig, allianz, etc.) but seems that the one from Touch n Go ewallet is slightly cheaper. i think it's by msig but cheaper than msig direct website.

anyone got experience with this? not sure if there's any hidden TnC or extra charges if need to claim

thanks

I read previously,... Some workshops willing n easily accepts some insurance companies only and some companies has abit more "troublesome n complicated" claims processes than others.

Thus I guess it would be more better to explore more other than just pricings

It is recommended to tow the car to the manufacturer for an accident repair .... if owner wants no headache.and imitation parts.

Insurers wont have complication with manufacturers. Quotes are transparent.

i thought of this too, but then again, i never hear feedback on one company over the other by any one person.
and i have not experienced (touch wood) any company's in terms of compensation.

so i have to go with the price/coverage laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
I'm eager to hear if there is any feedback/comparison

ProMilej by Pacific and Orient is really good. Now that company allows working working from home. I used less than 10k a year, so my car insurance got cheaper by 30%...

Not sure about the claims though, anyone with experience claiming with pacific and Orient? Or asking for tow service

i was with etiqa all these while. 2 years back saw takaful Malaysia and yes it was cheaper, and for continuous 2 years i was with takaful. last year decided to compare again. etiqa was cheaper (i think) please coverage is better and i can earn cashback with my mbb amex. i went back to etiqa.

as for cashback with no claim, i believe both have. the only thing is, it doesn't just depends on you not claiming, it depends on whether they have extra as a company, Islamic institutes are not suppose to charge faedah, so if many no claim, they earn more and will just distribute back to the customers. so you might not get it every year.
