Back when I was using mi4i, on umobile , it occasionally states maxis instead of umobile. It's because it roams/borrows on maxis line in the past and maxis line covers umobile where umobile does not have coverage.
This is still true in some regions in Malaysia where umobile does not have their independent line.

By right it's suppose to state umobile all the time instead of maxis. Perhaps my situation was similar to urs?

I think it is still acceptable since it's only a glimpse of it. not totally dark. I think it is due to the installation of the phone. but still, send to one gadget for claim. need to wait for 1 or 2 month. haiyaaa die la.


I think it is the same issue. since I never faced it when I'm at kl. but when I'm back at my hometown at Alor star kedah. it happen like very frequently. I think the phone try to find either 4g or 3g line, otherwise it will roam to maxis for edge or gprs line.

No bro.. I bought at satugadget also.. Bricked my phone because of wrongly flash.. Send back to satugadget, got new set on the spot. During that time, got uncle with 2 lumia with lcd easily peel off, they return the money because no more stock.

I can say satu gadget warranty still among the best for AP set seller.

U wont be able to see any stable global build until this phone is officially sold by Xiaomi MY. That being said, could take a very long time, considering that they are still selling the redmi note 2.

Decided to install Sphinx rom after i read your post. Thanks mate. Finally i can use Titanium backup to restore all my app and no more guessing when i try to browse through themes.

May I ask what is wrong with China ROM? I using China rom and to me no difference really, just install gapps lo, is identical to global rom?

Chinese ROM is mostly using Chinglish, not real English. And besides, stuffed with Chinese bloatware such as weibo, qq, tencent etc. Not everyone knows how to root and remove bloatware using titanium backup, so all those apps are taking valuable space.

Bro I don't know which Chinese rom are u referring to? But as far as I am using it, China official rom has perfect real English installed, and has zero Chinese bloatware, qq weibo are normal apps which can be easily uninstalled. Lastly u do not need to root your phone, or use titanium backup or what apps to use the official stable rom by xiaomi, just flash it using the method mention in this thread, all will be fantastically fine after u installed the official Chinese rom, no bloatware, no Spyware, no malware, can uninstall preloaded "good" Chinese apps anytime, can install google apps no issue, phone is same with any international android phone 😊

I just bought 2 units of Redmi Note 3 via Lazada.

Gold color i get from Gadget Velocity, its awesome. all global. 100% global ROM with english MIUI. Google Play installed.

Dark Gray color i get from Gtronics Communication. its suck, filled with bloatware.
3 security apps, 3~4 apps/ram cleaner, 1 anti virus, APUS Launcher??? WITH ADS!!!, other bunch MI China apps, some MI apps like theme are all in chinese, Google Play installed.

first, i root and uninstall the bloatware, after uninstall the Ads filled Apus Launcher, i keep getting error, then i stuck at MI logo screen when i rebooting the device. so i had to flash new ROM.
a quick google, i came across Sphinx 1d, success flash it, but got some problem, the finger print only can be use after rebooting the phone, then after few hours its unusable again.
then i saw Sphinx 2b is available, but i wonder if finger print sensor is really fixed? coz some still said its not fixed. anybody using this ROM? is it fixed?

I tried 2b which finger print sensor is not fixed for 32gb version

may I know the rom version for your gold color phone? So far as know there isn't any global rom yet, officially la...

edit: as for the finger print problem in Sphinx. yes sometimes it does not work after long deep sleep... to me it isn't much of a problem... Just log in via pin code and locks it back, it works again. No need restart phone...
