Try the app Gravity Screen. It uses phone's proximity sensor, so if u use a cover style case, once u cover the proximity sensor of ur phone, it will auto lock ur phone.

Not sure if it works for Redmi Note 3 or not. Coz duno where is the proximity sensor located at.

All I noe is Redmi Note 1 not support. Coz the proximity sensor is in the ear piece, covers usually have cut outs for ear piece, so it wont cover the proximity sensor to lock the phone.

Thanks a lot for the help but i'm visiting KL as a tourist and I will only have access to Low Yat Plaza because of busy schedule, i need to make it certain whether third party vendors located inside the low yat do have Redmi note 3 available ? can any one confirm

redmi note 3 support smart cover, there is an option there to turn it on/off.
setting > lock screen & password > smartcover mode.

I have a brand new flip case for this redmi note 3, never use and never try b4, black color.

Which ROM you are using? Mine official china doesnt have that "smart cover mode" options

Looks like this feature only available for dev rom. I'm on 7.0.22, no option for this. Perhaps the latest 7.1.3 comes with this option.

seems like the new 7.1.3.0 update has many issues:
- screen color off
- camera problems
- finger print not recognizing (Some)
what else?

I think I better stay in SphinX rom for awhile first...

hi may i know which version of SphinX rom ? downloaded this version http://en.miui.com/thread-197408-1-1.html, end up with playstore problem, and phone keep freeze.

How's the battery life on this phone? Based on gsmarena test, it's 4k battery doesn't perform that well
