would u guys think that Redmi Note 3 is a good upgrade from Mi3?
seems to be an upgrade in terms of dual sim, bigger battery, bigger screen, fingerprint sensor, extra 1gb RAM, extra 16gb internal. but still have doubt over the Mediatek Helios x10 processor. |

QUOTE(Xierra777 @ Nov 29 2015, 02:49 PM) Helio X10 performs closely with Snapdragon 801 but the GPU is still a few fps slower than Adreno 330 but not by huge margin. I tested Helio X10 myself and it was great and fluid experience.. I can't tell speed difference between both. Battery consumption and GPS is good too. Xiaomi is doin a good job. If u wan gaming then Mi4C, if u wan bigger screen then Note 3. If you really skeptical with Mediatek, just better off with Mi4C. Snapdragon 808. I think I'll add mi4c in my list of consideration. |

Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon 808 will pawn Oneplus X, Mi4C.
bigger screen, finger print sensor, and shud be cheaper. |

QUOTE(kobe8byrant @ Jan 3 2016, 10:09 PM) Just bought one from DirectD. Really good phone. Much better than my old Mi3. Construction really look solid and smoother edges compared to my other candidate OnePlusX. do u still have ur mi3? How does the Note 3 GPS lock-in performs? As fast as Mi3's snapdragon 800? |

QUOTE(wktang @ Jan 3 2016, 11:56 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « My old Redmi Note 4G with SD400 beats RN3 hands down no fight lol (Instant lock on yo). Maybe it's software optimization but as far as I can after countless calibration and testing, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with hardware design fault... but on the bright side with better build quality and bigger battery I am willing to close one eye for this la... haha some even manage to fine tune the gps lock on with their custom roms. well it is not perfect (still not up to snapdragon standards) but much better than default china rom setting... usable Anything below 4-5 second is ok for me imho. I think outside on a open field maybe can la but accuracy for this phone quite cacat lol and inside building is completely crap. Better stick with your papago This RN3 is very tempting me now coz I want a dual sim device for my next phone. This post has been edited by briantwj: Jan 4 2016, 12:22 AM |

QUOTE(hhng @ Jan 10 2016, 09:42 PM) Try the app Gravity Screen. It uses phone's proximity sensor, so if u use a cover style case, once u cover the proximity sensor of ur phone, it will auto lock ur phone. Not sure if it works for Redmi Note 3 or not. Coz duno where is the proximity sensor located at. All I noe is Redmi Note 1 not support. Coz the proximity sensor is in the ear piece, covers usually have cut outs for ear piece, so it wont cover the proximity sensor to lock the phone. |
