wow its so lively here, wanted to ask some newb question.. i'm new to vaping.. my mod is showing 0.83 ohm reading.. is that consider sub-ohm? after few days of using i now have burning smell .. seems like the coil is burnt.. i did tried changing the wick, but usually half tank then the burning smell started again.. and if i wanted to rebuild the coil where do i find those kanthal A1 wire? i'm unable to find at hardware shop like ace hardware..
*
Yes 0.83Ω (Ω is the symbol for "ohm", the electrical parameter for resistance) is below 1Ω and is generally referred to as sub-ohm. 1Ω and above is regular resistance vaping.

U can buy Kanthal at any vape shop near you, or online at Lelong, or on your mobile phone using the Shopee app. So far the cheapest I've seen is RM7.20 for a 30 foot spool plus shipping in Shopee. Since u r a first-timer, here's a tip: pop into a vape shop and try to observe when they are building a new coil for a customer. There's also plenty of coiling/wicking tutorial vids in youtube.

Hi, help please. How to use Temperature Control mod, is it when set the temperature level the watt setting no more relevant? I googled but no site directly explain the relationship of both.
*
Overview on temperature control: https://www.misthub.com/blog/tutorial-guide...control-vaping/

Watts are always relevant in some way where any electrically-powered device is concerned.

In terms of temperature control, the higher the watts, the quicker you hit the set maximum temperature and vice-versa. Some mods use "Joules" instead. U can use the formula below to convert.

Power(Watts) = Energy(Joules)/time(seconds)

I could go on, but it's easier if u just look for a youtube vid tutorial for whatever temp control mod u r using. And don't forget to set the resistance while the coils are at room temperature first. My feeble brain is overheating (poor temperature control) and I need to cook dinner tongue.gif

I read from somewhere that mentioned that it will auto increase the wattage to get to the desire temperature as soon as possible then reduce the wattage to maintain the temperature, so is it wrong? So the correct one is to manually set the wattage (how long it takes to get to desire temperature depends on the wattage level) and then after it is at the desire temperature the wattage will be reduced?
*
You have to realize that different chips control temperature in different ways (but with the same goal).
Some give you a full blast of power and then gradually reduce it as the desired temperature nears.
Some will just cut power when the desired temperature is achieved.
Some can perform both methods.
And now there's even chips that can do everything automatically for u.

There's no single "correct" way to control temperature in the same vein as there's no single "correct" way to design, coil and wick an atomizer.

Guys, 1 week old newbie here. My setup is IPVD2 & OBS Crius. Currently vaping AJ Vape mango blackcurrant. I like the flavor, but it doesn't seem to satisfy my "craving". Leaning towards trying US flavors such as unicorn milk or milkman. Any advice?
*
Could u be more specific as to what you are "craving" for?

I'm leaning towards TFV4 now. Lots of different coil heads to choose from, and can use single coil RBA to save juice/battery...  rclxms.gif
*
IMO comparing the flavor and clouds of the single coil RBA to the dual coil RBA, the savings on juice and batt is not something you'll readily want to do...it's too delicious and the vapor's thick and rich biggrin.gif

It's only RM65.80 including poslaju after 30% discount at Shopee, Joenida's shop and the dual coil RBA is an additional purchase. Hardly a big risk eh?

Some minor cons:
Please note that the thin translucent silicon o-ring at the bottom of the RBA/stock coils is not hardy and wears down/gets torn up easily. Even Rip Trippers scolded Smok for that poor quality o-ring! I've replaced them with a tougher quality one that's 0.5mm thicker, easily obtainable cheap cheap from any bearing and seal shop. One more downside is that the wicking may be a bit hard if u r a beginner. But once u get it right, the rewards are worth the effort.

Been using dual coils on my Velocity, compared to this the subtank just taste muted.
Dual coils of course feels great, except my battery drains in no time  cry.gif
*
Used kanthal, nichrome and Ti coils on my velocity...it still can't compare to the flavor from the tfv4, IMO. Even my former favourite zephyrus (which I really really liked) can't compare. Your subtank is single coil...and will be hard-pressed to match the performance of a dual coil atty. And if your batt drains too quick, time for u to look into a larger capacity power source.

wanna to buy some item and battery lg hg2 (brown) from joenida/shopee . anyone had buy from him ? give some review

anyway, u use what method to pay it. ? before this, i pay it use atm bank in . 3 day delayed to process.
*
Got 4 more LG HG2's from Joenida. I now have 12 pcs of that battery model married into 6 pairs, similarly numbered. Fare thee well my old faithful VTC4's sad.gif
NB: I used plastic vernier calipers to measure batteries. Repeat..PLASTIC VERNIER CALIPERS. Do not use metal calipers; they will cause a short circuit.
user posted image
The one numbered 5 is from the latest buy, the one numbered 2 is an older one.
Wrapper is glossier and slightly darker than my older HG2's (which may have somewhat faded in color, prolly due to heat?).
Font is smaller than the older ones.
Weight is 2 to 3 grams less than my older HG2's.
The outer dimensions are all similar with the older slightly heavier batteries.
The newer HG2's have been recharged 4 or 5 times...similar charging times and performance with the older ones. How long they'll last...only time will tell.
I am not a battery "sifu" or expert of any kind, and this is merely a neutral sharing of my experience. Your own experience may vary.

I pay using Maybank2u and Joe's response is quite fast. The fastest was about 30min after paying, I got a Shopee notification with Poslaju tracking number. The slowest was 4 or 5 hours. But Joe's biz is rather busy recently, so it may take a bit longer.

QUOTE(idesmond @ Nov 23 2015, 06:10 PM)
I prefer crown. Better build quality and better flavor IMHO. Crown can get as low as RM88 (Without RBA)
*
RM61.60 after applying the 30% discount actually. However Joenida has yet to respond to the blue screwdriver RBA issue. Even though I'm not really into single coil attys, I've been checking up on the comments section. If that RBA is indeed a pirated version being passed off as original, it'll put the credibility of that shop in severe doubt. Fortunately the things which I got from him that had the scratch n verify thingy all checked out OK...so that provides SOME (not 100%) assurance of originality.

RM61. which shop???
*
Shopee mall. Download and install the app on your smartphone from Google Play. Search on the app for Joenida's shop. Listed price is RM88. When checking out, apply the discount code JOENIDA30 for 30% off (max discount RM30). Net price is RM61.60 for the crown including Poslaju.

So far my experience with Joe's shop has been quite good and I'm happy with the prices.

The 30% off code can only be used once per account. U punya pandai leee...pakai dual sim, pinjam sim, beli sim prabayar yg murah etc etc...register more accounts brows.gif

So, they perform almost as good as, or somewhat better than the old HG2's?

Safe to say this is a new batch or smth? With that different colour wrap  hmm.gif

I just bought two this afternoon and only now realise hes shipping them with different coloured wraps  shakehead.gif
*
I found that they have similar charging times and performance with the older ones. Can't say more than that for now. Am not gonna call them genuine outright because I don't know all the parameters, and neither will I cast doubts on them because of the diff colored wrap and laser printed font for that same reason.

For all I know maybe they were cosmetically imperfect at manufacture, sold at a discount and then re-wrapped,... or this is the new style they come in. Your guess is as good as mine. They're less than half the price of my older HG2's and as long as they keep on working this way, I can't complain.

I had written in to LG Chem last week and was directed to write in specifically to one of their staff, which I duly did, asking some very hard questions. No reply till today. Maybe my 2nd email got an instant delete, or that email address is LG's trash can, or that chap will reply one of these fine days.

I helped u verify...it's genuine. Just key in the 4 sets of numbers starting from top line, left to right, then bottom line left to right with no spaces between the 4 sets of numbers. Go try yr luck at toto, Da ma cai, magnum !! biggrin.gif

*
Yup..no known clones at current time, they're working fine. Happily snorking on DIY kitchen lemon lime...and I just realized that what I typed rhymes smile.gif

Friend of mine selling clone crown rba and yes it comes with the dreaded blue screwdriver, claims white screwdriver is ori and blue clone. Who knows?
*
Ohh..interesting! Got a source for those rumors? The only way I have of performing a discharge test is by putting the batts into a mod, and vaping away.

I have a very strong feeling that my Crown is a clone. The box had a QR code but no serial code to key in. And i paid RM88 for it.
Even that, the machining and quality looks good. Ive not had a chance to compare it with an original unit though.
*

Help inform others who may be wanting to buy a Crown. Please post a photo of that paper with the QR code on it.

what does that even mean lol.

Grandpa is absolutely right. Please re-read his posts and if u still don't understand any aspects, just ask again.

This is a serious matter, and safety must take paramount priority. I'm sure no one here wants u to get hurt or suffer the effects of nicotine poisoning.

I have only this to add:

If u r a smoker who's trying to quit, I applaud you and ask that you take the effort to know exactly what u r buying, and how to use it in a proper and safe manner. If u r NOT a smoker who's trying to quit, forget about nicotine entirely. Just enjoy vaping all the flavors u like...and explore new tastes!

Lol you're not vaping at 700 deg c aren't you? Huhu. I like ni200 too but having to recoil often rather than dry burn and reuse put me off for a bit. Oh plus my sig75 really uses up batts when on tc huhu
*
Try making spaced coils..they gunk up slower and less than contacts. A soak in alcohol and light brushing works wonders. I've got dual Ti coils that's over a month old and still good n shiny. No pulsing or dry burns needed at all.

But if you're using super sweet local juices with funky psychedelic colors, forget what I wrote! biggrin.gif

Lol hopefully they do Black Friday here. Thanks for te heads up, I only bought one item from Joe the evic, hopefully will get it tomorrow, it's at the IPC now, fingers crossed. Those magic sims can be used at other sellers right? Vaporstore9799 is selling D2 for 148 before rm30 discount. I was divided between d2 and "evict" then realised I only have rm100 to spare LOL
*
Ah they'll definitely do black fri...cos some time ago, I saw a notice on Shopee asking sellers to submit their items for the black friday sale.

hehe u should get yr evic tomorrow. don't forget to update it to firmware v 2.0! Getting a mod capable of SS TC for under RM100 is a damned good deal!

And don't worry about the D2...the D3 is coming. It has step-down functionality in power mode now...but it looks like no firmware upgrade capability.

Here's the official IPV ah beng to tell u more about it biggrin.gif

Yay a spare box mod. Oh I think it will be my main device. Saw pbusardo's review on vtc, there's a few 'issues' on its tc with ss but like you said for the price i got it for, I'm sure I am ok with it lol.
Now looks like ipv has listened to users re battery door. Looks nice but think I'm ok with 2 small box mods. I'm the future i might be looking into ipv3 Li specs for an enhanced vaping experience esp with them drippers hehe
*

I just watched it. Hella long and very detailed! Hopefully they can tweak the firmware to allow use of the more easily-available 316L SS, and bump it down a notch for Ti. If not, we'll have to fire at lower temps to compensate. This mod's my carry-around one and I only use it in power mode while outside. I'm itching to try stainless steel, but 304 may be not that easy to find! I think the ipv3 li will work well for your purposes, and if I recall correctly, it's firmware can be upgraded. That's a very important thing in a regulated mod (at least to me). No point getting locked into a dead end.
