Noob in tyre and rim, currently plan to change the tyre(all weather type) for my wife kenari after CNY. Any recomended for the tyre plan to change all 4 tyres..budget around RM150-160/pcs. Normal usage on highway and also often go to cameron highland.

FYI, michelin is the best tyre in the world...no one can doubt with it...

2nd comes to jp tyres....like sumitomo, yokohama, bridgeston, toyo, falken....each has it own characteristic...

for malaysia road...bridgestone quite suitable...

i beg to differ.

i've tried a lot of tires during the years and i found that michelin ain't the best though.

if u say the best all rounder, i'd have to give it to Bridgestone Potenza series... be it GII, GIII or RE01. but i do agree bridgestone is suitable for malaysian roads.

bridgestone is too hard....
btw, michelin giving 6 yrs defects warranty which any other cannot.

6 years? meaning that if the tires were to deformed within the 6 years, u can change it for free?

too hard? what do u mean? Treadwear rating is there for a reason. I've explained this b4, i think about 3 or 4 pages back. Anything with Treadwear above 280 is quite hard. anything btwn 200 to 280 is average and anything below 200 is soft to very soft.

You're saying which bridgestone tyre? Turanza? Potenza? and also you're referring to which Michelin tyre? MXF? Pilot Preceda?

Tyres are model specific. I found that eventhough Advan Neova AD07 is very good in dry and average in the wet, it still not as good as Bridgestone Potenza RE01-R, which is definitely better in dry and still grippy in wet too. but, price for the RE01R is very very expensive.

I believe this thread purpose is to help those who wanted to pick tyres to suit their need, and also their budget. So, please be specific when u say Michelin is good, which model? and Bridgestone is too hard... but which model?

and you're saying dunlop/falken even sumitomo better than Bridgestone?

dude, i'd take Bridgestone Potenza GIII anyday over Dunlop DZ101, Falken ST115 or whichever... and also Toyo T1R.

Michelin giving 6 yrs for manufacturer defects..
can be claim if got bengkak...within 6 yrs...
but not physical damage by user.

good michelin tyre is pilot sport, pilot preceda....not xm1...or energy...

Bridgestone is good but too hard and not as quiet as Michelin....AD07 is good but too soft...therefore faster botak....

anyway...all depends on the budget...

Bridgestone which i compared is not the potenza..but turanza...and the rest...Potenza is too high end to compared with sumitomo.

But I can comfirmed that potenza thailand is behind toyo proxies.

Sing Lee Hin Tyre (Old Klang Rd ) selling 155 70 12 GPS2 Goodyear at RM100per piece to customers...and Astar Arena at RM92per piece.

Lee Tyre USJ 6 selling 175 70 13 Indo tyres at 70 something.

michelin good ^^ try that , and your budget can buy michelin , good brand

The Michelin Pilot Preceda was crap, the new Pilot Preceda 2 is okay. The Bridgestone Potenza G3 is one of the best for it's price. BFGoodrich G-Force Sport is very good too but wet performance degrade pretty fast after 25000km. Michelin XM1 and MXV8 are craps if to compare to Bridgestone Turanza or Premio.
