If wanna park near, then come super duper early to fight with pasar auntie for parking dbkl.

Or open air carpark RM10 per day next to the pasar. Ppl will double park, but you need to be early, by 9, I think full dy.

So if want cheap need pay up if not need go jogging. Lol.

Does anybody know where to park around PwC office for cheaper rate?

I am thinking of whether to take LRT or by car. If by car i have no idea where to park :/
*
If LRT is an option, I think you should use LRT.

Parking at KL is never cheap.

Normal Pwc people would park at some place called Lot F, which is nearer to the LRT than pwc. But not so sure in regards to the current rate.

Just googled the distance. It takes 1km to walk from Lot F to PwC building! That's crazy
*
Really its not. Plenty of people walk to there on a daily basis. Lol.

Parking never a easy thing at KL or town area.

Hi, I'm going to start my internship with PwC in coming February in assurance department. Since I know that there are a few industries that they have in assurance which are:
1. Consumer Industrial Products & Services (CIPS)
2. Technology, Information, Communications (TICE Energy)
3. Entrepreneurial & Middle Market Group (EMG)
4. Financial Services (FS)
5. Risk Assurance Services (RAS)
6. Technical, Methodology, & Technology (TMT)

Anyone had experience in that can share with me what is it all about please?

Thank you so much  biggrin.gif

Isnt it explained in the pwc website? https://www.pwc.com/my/en/careers/assurance.html

Depends what you want. And do you like your current company/team youre at now.

I dont see a point of being delayed in the new company, wasting your experience in Company A, unless you have some issues in Company A.

You could always ask for a switch of industry in Company A, to get different kind of clients.

From what I know in EY KL, HPI is the only one suffering.
Doesn't mean the other service lines are not understaffed, but HPI staffing level is seriously low, and has the highest staff turnover.

I'm in a big job in FSO and our team is about 40 members.
Similar size job in HPI, however only has less than 10 members, see what I mean?
*
When you say similiar sized jobs, are they similar in terms of audit fees?

And also audit firms do categorised clients into few categories, they would prioratise strategic and clients with higher recoverability. Thus, the allocation of staff, however if the department does not even have staff it would be a problem.

Nope, similar sized as in the structure and size of the client.

But yeah, HPI does not even have enough staff, very very often other service lines are seconded over to help them.
*
Size of client not = audit fee? If HPI is lower fee, then it would definitely be ignored by the management - not prioratise it. Just nature of the job.

Alot new joiners or counselees under me are concerned about their short term goals, which is to get promoted within 1 year or less than 1 year.

To be honest, if youre able to prove your worth to the company, there would be no reason for the Company to not promote you, it will take time and effort, but if youre good enough, you will get promoted for sure.

Memang i deserve 2k for not flippig few pages back. Thanks for the advise. Am I able to negotiate on sponsors on ACCA's exemptions and studies tho?
*
You would need to negotiate via bond usually a period of 4 years. For ACCA usually they sponsor up to RM15k only.

Mind sharing your experience as working in big four firm in malaysia, do you guys always traveling abroad alot or just visiting local manufacturer?
*
Depends on level and client base.

If youre a fresh graduate joining the firm, dont expect to travel alot abroad.

If youre higher level like manager and above, higher chance.

If clientele is a MNC with operations around the globe sure, but if local only then no.

Hi, I would like to ask if anyone landed a job as financial advisory associate as fresh graduate or with working experience of 6 months or lesser as audit associate. Would love to hear any insight stories and tips! I thought of going after transaction service after my last ACCA paper.

And say if i couldn't join advisory with that experience, would working as financial analyst/associate in other MNC be sufficient for me to join advisory dept for big 4s in the future aside with working as audit? Also, when'll be the next intake for advisory for the big 4s? Thanks for replying in advanced.
*
Big 4 advisory usually only accept foreign grads if you are fresh.

After a few years experience, its definitely possible to join advisory. Seen ppl jump internally from audit to advisory within my firm.

Guys, want to ask your opinion.
I have been working with big four malaysia for almost 3 years, but I got offer with big five singapore.
Should I move to Singapore or just stay in Malaysia?
*
Not so sure you’re from audit or what. But in Sg it’s all about the money and whether you can adapt or not.

Some are able to some don’t. If you’re in audit, after 3 years you should be a senior position where in SG they place a really big reliance on the senior here as compared to Malaysia.

Because I saw a lot of people said that first few years of a auditor will work till death, then weekends aso need come to work, is it true guys?  Btw I'm now a form 5, I'm pretty much sure that after spm, I will pursue the fastest pathway to acca which is CAT-ACCA(3 years hopefully).
*
Everyone is different. If you’re good with your boss. Can be working hours pun chilling.

If you like normal worker, then hardlife lo.

If you amoi, I know some dumb guy seniors help you do pun Ada. Amoi just sit at home. Lol

I also want to ask about what's the difference lifestyle, working hours and working environment between an auditor and tax in busy season and non-busy season( details if can) , and how constantly do an auditor travel with the team?
*
No situation fits all. If youre like useful, youll get sucked to different ad hoc projects, for example for tax it would be tax investigation projects and for audit IPO projects.

Things such as lifestyle and working hours is defined by yourself not by others.

But the norm for peak season is Jan to May for external auditors and for tax its July to September. Thats why in tax there tends to be more females, for KPMG and Deloitte seems to be 80% female. Hours for peak could be 8.30 - 3/6am. Is it healthy? You decide for yourself. But from my observation, tax dept is usually more humane in that aspect.

There was the case where the KPMG auditor can knock the tree due to over exhaustion and died. So if youre tired, just tell your senior that you want to go home. There are seniors who are selfish, for example ask you shorten your study break in order for you to work for them longer, if youre weak willed which was the case for my fren, youll shorten it, and she did failed her professional paper which I think was super foolish on her end. Nobody cares whether you passed the paper or not. Cause for audit if you dont have professional, youll be stuck at AM level forever. You would need to think for yourself on that.

Non busy season I mostly stayed home, cause big 4 company uses the hot desk policy for their junior staff, even AM dont have designated seats. For tax it should be that everyone has designated seats. So definitely harder to snake lol.

What I saw: Crying is seen as weak. Probably will be blamed for lowering team morale. Complaining means you will be transferred/threatened with no promotion. Reassigning tasks shows you are pushing work to others.
What I saw: You still get blamed even if it's not your fault (i.e. client side or problem with the system). Ghost tickings and changing samples. "Find out yourself" culture. Some even complain about racism.
What I mentioned is associate level only (not even 6 months in). I'm surprised you didn't have to deal with Access even after 3 years work.
*
Already audit manager in 5 years in a big4, still dont know access.

Pretty sure racism exist everywhere, how you handle it is the difference.

Audit is just you making sure that a report comes out end of the day. Someone will be faulted if the report is not out, and your clients are your customers so..

From what I understand from big 4 firms, is that they prefer taking people who are at the last stretch of taking their professional papers or already have professional papers.

This is to minimise staff who would be in study break during study break season.

And regards to CGPA, wouldnt 4 be the max for CGPA? 3.9 would be really good already.

And could be due to your diploma, as you seem to not have a degree as well.

Hello everyone. I just received an email yesterday from KPMG.

"We are unable to offer you an employment opportunity with us at the moment. We are still interested in your application and will contact you should future opportunity arises."

What do you think? Did they reject me? I've completed the online assessment. I'm wondering whether I failed their online assessment or maybe it's because of the CMCO in Selangor as I live in other state.
*
Sorry to say that is a rejection response from them.

And from that email, I dont think anyone would able to pinpoint why they rejected you.

But do note sometimes 6 months after they might contact you if a suitable role or opportunity comes along.

Happened to my senior previously.

But in the meanwhile better try to search for other jobs.
