Hi,

It's me again. Just a short update. I've been taking piano lesson for a year. Now at 4th lesson of PBE 2. The lesson is at faster pace now  ohmy.gif  cry.gif

Btw, today I found two great pianist CDs on Popular (AEON Bukit Tinggi), i.e. Richard Clayderman and Jimmy Chan (Malaysian). A boxset of 6 CDs from each pianist for RM35.90.  rclxms.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi,

How's the lesson going?
PBE2 is more on bassing ideas, left hand skills and also many different playings styles like Rhumba, Bossanova, Jazz, etc...
You'll also learn playing as an accompanist while you sing the melody or song. I'm quite slow in my lessons mainly due to my left hand competency, thus I onl managed to learn the basic accompaniment playing. Used up most of the time for the bassing ideas...
Hope you can manage to learn as much as possible, practice more if you can.

Whose your music coach? I think if you mentioned my name, he/she might know me, LoL, cause I used to post a question regarding my left hand problem on the PBE Yahoo Group and I "think" it cause quite a big issue.

Anyway, talking about Jimmy Chan, did you attend the Faisal Simonelli concert by PBE? He's also playing Richard Clayderman/Jimmy Chan style. But I'm most impressed with the keyboard performance by Alex, the man himself. Did you went to see it. If not you can watch it online on YouTube:

(Live version during the "Popular Keyboard Method" course launching)

(A better version, same as above, but since it's not live it's smoother and with information).

LoL, first time see him do "action". I only knew that he was also a self-taught musician and able to play up to 9 instruments (from what I heard).

By the way, if you did not attend any of the previews/talk before, you can now actually go for exams and get yourself a TRUE certificate from London School Of Music (I think). No theory, just play contemporary songs according to the list provided and 1 complementary songs chosen by you yourself (in any language).

Good Luck!

i want to buy a beginner keyboard , however I cannot decide between the Casio CTK 2000 and Yamaha PSR E213 at the same price. The Casio keys are a bit heavier which resembles a bit of a piano and the Yamaha sound is better, which one should I choose?
