If you buy MBB shares, whether or not the shares goes up or down, if you put in within a time frame of lets say 1 year, they will still give you your dividen. can anyone verify? thx bai Yes. But how much they are they willing to give you if they are making a loss. |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Mar 15 2017, 09:08 PM) Welcome bro. I am also a new player. Pending the reply from the sifus, please have a look at my siggy and do some further research. Please take out OldTown (overvalued now), Air Asia (volatile) and Ta Ann (downtrend). Should have recommend midvalley and sunway first. Have a look at GENTING, TENAGA and Nestle if you want something "safe", i.e. the last to fall. Good luck! P/S: My preference is to have at least 5 different stocks in 5 different industries to minimise the risk. |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Mar 27 2017, 09:38 AM) Good morning folks. I am late to the party as usual. You are using margin? Trying to top up my investment in Superlon and enter day trading for Astino. But the prices are rising too fast and I cannot catch up. Superlon up +6.67% now and Astino has gone up 11.33% as we speak. Called my remisier just now to ask him to triple my credit limit ASAP. QUOTE(Pink Spider @ Apr 7 2017, 02:27 PM) Finance/investment decisions are always based on FUTURE values, past costs and gains are totally irrelevant. If one thinks value is too high, but it's a good cash making machine, why sell? Better to hold it right and get cash rather than sell and get one time gain? There's no guarantee you can buy again at that old price. It doesn't make sense. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Apr 7 2017, 02:36 PM |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 7 2017, 02:49 PM) If you got another candidate with better valuation, why not? It is like I sell overvalued MY reits and buy undervalue SG reits.. no regrets there wat. Ya la. If can find replacement. Unless you got no other candidate or dun wan bother then continue to hold la... QUOTE(river.sand @ Apr 7 2017, 02:50 PM) I would say HOLD, not BUY. Wah PE 50. Haven't see that kind of counter yet But if its valuation is too high, e.g. PE 50 and the odds of price going down is high, then SELL. |

To screen the debts of the company, do we use Ratio of Debts to Assets or Total Liabilities to Equity ratio?
Also if I am looking for a company with little/zero debts, what should the range of the ratio be? Thank you. |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 7 2017, 08:03 PM) Liabilities to equity ratio (gearing ratio) is more commonly used. But both also can la. I know. But I prefer company without debts Not all debts are bad.. So what's the best range for the ratio? <5 ok? Btw, what's the difference between both of them? One is use debts, and one use liabilities (which include debts + others) This post has been edited by Ramjade: Apr 7 2017, 08:06 PM |

QUOTE(gark @ Apr 7 2017, 08:03 PM) Liabilities to equity ratio (gearing ratio) is more commonly used. But both also can la. But if I want to screen zero/low debt company, which criteria should I use?Not all debts are bad.. If you want a zero or low debt company, you must check liquid cash at hand - total loans = if positive then is a net cash company. trade payable no need check, but if current receivables = current liabilities, should be ok. Takkan want to look at each country one by one? Sure there's a way to screen it using the broker screener program. QUOTE(gark @ Apr 7 2017, 08:06 PM) Edited above. Low or no debt company dont use this to calculate. What I meant is there must be a way to filter out companies with high debts. From there manually analyse one by one by pulling out all their financial reports.if you want help analyzing, put the accounts up.. This post has been edited by Ramjade: Apr 7 2017, 08:31 PM |
