i just understood from HR...now getting EP is very hard...sg company need to advertise the job in their government portal for 14 days...after 14 days if decide to apply EP for foreigner they need to submit the documents which indicates how many sporean applied for job,their interview details,details for not selecting them....just one word,sgporean is the priority....and this rules just start on last year 2015 october...

You should ask the new employer to apply for a new Employment Pass for you. There is no need to cancel the existing EP before applying for a new one.

Your application will be considered based on its merits and under prevailing guidelines.

It is so hard to find a job in Singapore nowadays. So many applications, no positive response so far. Sigh.

I guess I should have said it's hard to find a job in Singapore. Unless I have the skills set they need that the locals can't offer, I will never find any job there.

If you have friend plan to stay with you can easily get 650-750/2pax in boon lay/jurong east areas. Too bad I can't get one. End up 500 single room.

But I found that rooms posted by malaysian (esp the sub-rent) are packed, can up to 6-8pax in the unit. I think agents are fine as long as you meet the right person (and remember mention you don't want to pay agent fee!).

Actually a lot of properties from agents posted on propertuguru got mention no agent fee applies. Simply because the landlords have paid them.it's against the law for them to ask for payments from both sides(landlord & tenant).

I found mine through agent without paying them, only the $24 e-stamping fee for legalization of rental agreement.

Just wondering, anyone here get blacklisted by MOM before and unable to come in Singapore to work? Any other chances to appeal? If employer really wants to hire you.

Since there are so many banking sifus here, I'm thinking of starting to invest in Sg. Any recommendation on where to start? I've been reading about index investing but in the end I realized MAS regulation (CAR) which requires us to have knowledge in investing before we can open an investing account. really facepalm.
