Lompat to new place, managed to secure 25% more - tried to push for 30-40 but low years of exp against my favour. This despite the fact that I am extremely qualified (serious - I know my industry) for the role, well-recommended by a manager there (former colleague) and I know the new place is desperate for people to handle this function (now memang babi buta).

Sifu-sifu who achieve banyak $$ at younger age, how do y'all push for that harder knowing the company (esp fuddy-duddy ones with bureaucratic HR) will always counter with your experience? imho years does not always equal capability or talent.

Yea, will wait it out till 1 yr. Was thinking of trying SG after 1yr.

Seeing you all have very high salary when experience is about the same as me makes me feel pretty bad about myself.

Company also announced no increment this year due to bad economy and company doesn't make much profit.

Can't really say that I work super hard, but i managed to finish all my job despite we are now in short of staffs. Even the higher management think i did a good job and constantly get compliments. that doesn't earn me higher salary but more work and need to stay back for important meetings without OT.

Sometimes the meeting can last for almost two hours. My working hour is 9pm -6pm and there are times i need to stay back until almost 8pm. Even some of the staffs work at 10pm - 7pm already balik.

I come late to work and got cut RM20. Zzzzz....

Feel very demotivated right now.

on the bright side, i can listen to music while doing work. otherwise, i would have run way.

Wonder what can I do to be successful? I know my study field has been a mistake, but no use regretting it now..

i am happy and not happy at the same time.. i feel like there is nothing motivates me anymore.. the company also is not doing well..
the only thing that motivates me is to see my friends there.. and earn to support my family..

i'm not sure about the career progression but seeing it as a bigger company, maybe career progression is better..
i dont mind about the location, is not that far.. only 30km from my home..

but the benefits are quite similar to my current company..
and only offers very little increment.. u would be sad to hear it lol
i can say that, the differents from my current salary 2.8k to the new offer 3.15k, is 2 years increment in my current company

salary wise, let say, my current company offers only rm100 increment for these few years..

thats my only concern now, increment and bonus.. my current company cannot offer high increment and bonus (last 2 years was ex gratia )
the new company can, from what i heard.. got bonus at least 1 month and increment is higher..

but its contract thou.. a bit risky i think.. need to pray a lot so that i can be absorbed to permanent..

Hi guys, I would like to hear what's your opinion on jumping ship increments. I see the increment more than 20% is only worth jumping. So the increment is based on your basic salary only or do you include your fixed allowance in the calculation also?

I asked for a 100% increment in one of the interview I attended, with some other perks that are not norm. They are lacking people to fill the role. The department head and his director both are fine with it, the HR made some noise saying its not the company policy to raise so much from the previous salary. End up many ding dong HR offered a 80% raise but other company offered me a job with better prospect so I turned it down.

From what I see is the value one could bring into the company, not what his previous salary was. Never know what's the reason behind the HR's approach.

Eventho im not married yet, well, also hve commitment for helping family. Idk lah bro. 4 years i live with this kind of work. Had continue study before, but family cond making me and all members suffer bcs that time only my fathers work and only him have to support 6 ppl (mom, me and other 4 sibling) with that kind of salary. I cant think abt study and just failed and come back home to work and reduce burden. Idk lah bro. Sometime im envy with ppl who hve a good salary. I wish i hve a good pay too. But ppl only with spm sure gonna have a bad time to find a good work with a good salary. Exp without cert is hard you know.

The thing is, Cert is still important as the deciding factors comes from Employers (they are the decision makers). Unless, the skills are applied in Entrepreneurship. I have seen many cases for those without certs or just diploma, they actually perform better than Degree graduate. However, their pay is limited by the scale / system hence no way for them to grow further till they advanced the studies. Cruel but real in many MNCs. 

Hi all, I need some help here.

I am technically not a fresh graduate (graduated in June 2015), but for 2 years I worked in a non-profit organization as executive level, one year in Malaysia and one year overseas. Both years salary were way below average (below RM2000) because I mainly work for my self development and contribution.

Now I am finishing and going for a "real" corporate job, and since I am not really a fresh grad, how should I tell my expected salary?

My concerns below:
1. Even though I have 2 years working experience, it's in a youth-run non-profit so it's not giving me the same experience as working in companies, so I can't say I am better or same level as others who worked for 2 years.
2. Even so, I wish to apply some jobs that are not targeted for fresh grad with 0 experience, because I want to challenge myself more and I think I can cope with it quickly (then, it comes to concern #3 below).
3. Since my past 2 jobs gave me low salary but I am applying for non-fresh-grad jobs, how should I tell my expected salary? Some jobs I am applying are offering RM4k and above, should I tell my expected salary as fresh grad (2.7~3k?) or just slightly below the estimated offer (3.5k)?
