QUOTE(Crystal94 @ Oct 6 2016, 05:16 PM)
fresh grad degree in accounting, 22, girl, from pahang, stay at gombak

best part is, my qualification is account but sorry to inform u that I hate account and I hate number.

CGPA:3.10, I am looking for stable company with good pay. nowadays fresh grad get 2k something only for working in according with our qualification. Have to jump into different field I think? 2k might be enough if stay at kampung, but here in KL i am alone. sad.gif

not sure if I am doing it right or not. should I tukar bidang or what? but I stress doing audit or account.
*
Big buck definitely coming from audit especially after few years of experience. Why not try something else like do some company's account? If you really dislike account, what about sales? Do you happen to have transport or you depend on public transport?

Btw you can always PM me if you need any help. I will try my best if is within my area of expertise. wink.gif

QUOTE(jaguhan @ Oct 10 2016, 10:21 PM)
Bonus is very dependent on the company's profit in the year. This year I got 2.5 months, last year 1.5, the year before that 0.5 only..

I think it's quite low too. I should probably jump ship soon. It saddens me a bit since I feel this company is like one of the bigger companies in the industry. I've tried applying to other big companies but none seemed to bother with my application.

Recently I was called for an interview for a smaller company which has never hired an M&E staff before. I think they are still considering my application where I asked for about 4.5k. It slighly concerns me that this company has very little to no experience in M&E. It could be an opportunity to shine or get sidelined..

A senior once lectured a friend of mine when my friend tendered his resignation. The senior says that my friend will regret "downgrading" his career by moving to a smaller company. I'm not sure if my senior is being honest or just trying to manipulate my friend to change his mind.
*
I wouldn't say is a bad move. You could start fresh and shine in the new smaller company, provided you are hungry for success. Small company not for slackers, which I believe most of the people here are. laugh.gif If you have the urge to be the engine of the company, go for it. Else look for bigger company and jump ship.

Hi all,

Need you guys help here. My situation as below:

As I've been worked here for almost 3 years(in 3 months I'll be full 3 years) as a home appliance online store website incharge person and etc. The online store is my company inhouse website, not under marketplaces like Lazada or 11street and so on. I find that the salary is lesser than I've work compares to other job.

My job description as follow:
1. Customer Sales and Services through email/phone.
2. Handling of orders from online store(From checking online store order>Open Sales Order>Print Order>Look for Products>Handling of products to courier)
3. Adding and manage products into online store(At the moment there's already around 2500 of SKU)
4. Technical supports for office colleague (Such as troubleshoot, solve, setup and so on everything related to IT)
5. Online store orders filing
6. Online store artwork design (To be put on main page)
7. Improvement of online store (Such as to figure out anything that boost sales and customer conveniences.)

I've studied until Diploma only and have withdraw without the cert.
My salary currently is RM2350 from my basic of RM2000 2 years ago. Working from Mon- Fri. Bonus is only 1 month of my salary.
I'm currently senior of 2 colleagues, and they are partially under my in charge.

My decision now would be, leave this company at once I've been worked for 3 years full and then find another work.

Is leaving this company and my post a wise choice?

Please help.

Thank you all!
*
Leave. Me same case as you. Withdrawn from degree program and joined a company as marketing person. Work 2 years + and I managed to doubled my salary from the first job. One thing you need to know is how you sell yourself.

Should raise more?  hmm.gif

20% seem a reasonable jump. But if you know how to sell yourself, you can demand more. Previously I had a 28% jump. Don't look down on that 8%.. enough to pay some monthly fees. brows.gif

my current job which is as project exec is more on management, and I thought of jumping and pursue more on specialize skills - engineering design (which what i really want) and make way to have IR & become consultant.

in the pursuit of getting my objectives, should i jump even tho i'll most probably get less (maybe around rm2.8k)?
need any sifus opinions  notworthy.gif

If the new job matches your interest but offers slight lower, I'd say go for it. It is not easy for you to find something that matches your passion and interest, at the same time you are getting paid. At the age of 24, you still have some years left to grind the salary out by sacrificing some of your time to gain more experience. Once you are experience in that field, the power of salary demand will be in your hands. wink.gif

Even there is a chance for him to alert a huge sump suspicious amount transacted into Mr N's account. What can he do?  hmm.gif
*
I think his work is more on the transaction via credit card, ie purchasing. Huge sum amount transact is usually park under 3rd party company. I worked there before and I saw Najib's cheque before too. laugh.gif And it is hard to detect fraud from there cause what you see is the receiver name, amount, and some personal information. There's not much of suspicious check you can do.

I could be wrong though as I only handled CIMB, Maybank, Citibank, Bank Islam account that time. hmm.gif

Yes. Rule of thumb when you work overseas; never convert unless you able to save and bring it back to your homeland. But I really salute my friends who able to save and bring back the money from Singapore. Damn they already afford to own a house summore. sad.gif

I was offered the job as per above, it is lower than my expected salary.

Do you think mileage claim at RM 0.50/Km is better or Company petrol card?
(From what I know claim is inclusive petrol, service, wear and tear. However, if petrol card means only petrol.)

Is there any sifu here can enlighten and advice me whether it is worth to take on the job?

Thanks in advance
*
Mileage claim always better. It is lower than your expected salary, but the % of increment from current withdrawn salary? If is more than 20 then can consider the jump. Else you can look for others. No point jumping without having higher increment.

Hi guys,

one question, if we are employed by a foreign country, should we ask the salary match their current origin standard or follow our malaysian standard?
what say you?
*
If they come for you, ask for your desired salary. What's the point of you going to their country and take what they offer?

And always match their standards instead of local standards, just to be on the safe side. You never know how high the living cost that country can be. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes most probably aren't comfortable to reveal the figures here. Bravo for sharing it out, letting people know the current working world still not as dead as claimed.

You definitely showed us something here. I too hope to get at least RM5000 before 30. But too bad I am like 4 more months away from 30 YO mark and still stuck below my target. sad.gif

Since I guess most of us here are in IT-related field minus those in O&G & Sales(out of league), I felt responsible to share. Never too late.. even you are 30yo, does not mean you need to give up. Create better momentum, you might obtain results much better than you can expect.  biggrin.gif
*
No bro, not giving up. I was considered lucky I guess. I started work at the age of 27 actually. A very late bloomer but managed to almost doubled my first drawn salary. Just that I need to aim higher now.

Hope that I can find passive income of minimum RM1000 per month by age 35. In fact I am trying to figure out what business/investment I can go for. But only had eyes on some REITs and stuff, never really have the time to actually research on it yet.

Wow you perform much better than I am in fact. Having passive income of 1K per month means you need an investment portfolio that give you 12K return per annum. If you are bumi, take advantage of the ASB then. If not, you are right, stock/REIT?futures shall be the ways but require lots of effort to research and high risk-tolerance.

Got one member here run this site: Divident Magic. He's quite active though. I like to read his post. biggrin.gif

For business, that's not gonna be called passive already. Much less, its dynamic in nature so I can't comment much.
*
Business as in sleeping partner. I pump in money to their business and wait for revenue. laugh.gif But of course this is my last resort as I also don't have that much cash flow atm. biggrin.gif

Not a bumi, that's why only able to depend on REITs. Stocks/shares I am not really comfortable with. REITs have relatively lower risk compared to those two. tongue.gif
