Oh yeah another side question. Any recommendation of a replacement Router for Unifi? Need to be able to support HyppTv. DD-WRT would be a nice bonus.
*
got replacement for my stock router. TP-Link Archer C7 AC1750....the cheapest i can find around for ac range, got it for 360ringgit from lazada....unifi compatible and easy setup. dual band really give option for multi devices. But most olders wifi cannot detect 5ghz wifi signal, my iphone 4 only detect 2.4ghz signal, my hypptv also cant....anyone experience it?

i have extra STB from my friend, can i setup 2 stb with one router? anyone try it before? different login for both stb rolleyes.gif

off course older wifi cannot connect to 5ghz N-type wifi due to they are made for B/G/N for 2.4ghz spectrum...

are you connect the hypptv on correct port? normally it on port no 4 if not mistaken for tplink modem...

/updated:

i read again, you updated the question....

cannot... first due to only 1 VLAN tagging per line... and the setup box is MAC binding...
*
yup i connect the my hypptv lan to lan1 since the id was 600. and i just need to disable hardware NAT to make hypptv working for the new firmware for archer C7 v2.0. older firmware can watch hypptv without disable the NAT hardware but tether apps is not working. and i like the tether apps, u can control your router from ur mobile phone. u can change wifi password u can block users and u can on/off guest wifi too.

damn really? , my friend didnt want his STB and give it to me...maybe i try to set another vlan id 600 and try again.

yup got it during saturday and sunday 15% off cimb bank...price from ookas 427.55 got 15% = 363.42 plus rm1.70 postage fee brows.gif

Wonder which link did you get your Router from.

I checked Lazada and only saw RM400+ price for C7
*
i bought it last week on sunday 29 nov. yeah the price is RM400+ but i use cimb bank card / credit card to proceed payment thru my mobile phone. i've look just now, the cheapest is RM 427....u need to look for it often, go for 15% off using apps.
Attached Image
my order screenshot with my mom rice cooker....see the discount given almost 85 ringgit for both items. i even got 15% off for my apple watch tho.

**i just edit in my router i create lan1 and lan4 id 600 for hypptv. right now i only use one stb and i change lan port while hyyptv is still on. it freeze and when i connect to port 4 it run again. going to try 2 stb connect lan 1 and lan 4 tomorrow.

Hmm UOB credit card is 12% for every Tuesday

I didnt saw the advert for 15% though, must be CIMB card or through app? Wel I got CIMB CC also.
*
the cimb 10% if u pay thru website, and u will get 15% off if u use lazada apps. u can use cimb card(debit card) or cimb credit card. i use debit card since i dont want to be indebt with credit card...pain wooo...since unifi already cash me out around 250 a month cry.gif. they got master card off, UOB off, maybank off and HSBC off. the percent depends.

Anyone?
*
from the cabinet they will distribute the fibre thru DP(distribution point). 1km can be reach dont worry. if the DP or tie DP is 250meter away from home it would be a problem. because the wire used from DP/tieDP to home cannot support 250meter above.your area has being installed with fibre cable underground or pole before? if they have installed dp, look for the nearest to your house and maybe u can calculate the distance.

You can check each item Fullfillment by which reseller.

Usually it is a local shop with local warranty.

You can even check their business address.

If it is overseas then search for a different listing of the same item, maybe you get lucky getting a local company instead.

Some of it are quite old computer shops like Pineapple Computers, All IT (thought All IT is usually in Rakuten)

And I just did more research. Apparently CIMB 15% discount only happens during Saturday and Sunday. And the rate are kinda random. Sometimes they give 10%, sometimes 15%. Sometimes Storewide, somerimes selected items LOL.

Well I do have a coupon for 15% discount but capped at a max of RM50.

So I can check out the C7 with RM377 now, or wait Sunday if I can get it cheaper or not.

LOL.
*
well 377 is quite cheap already....does the 15% discount have expired date?

Thank you for your warning, luckily you tell me this...  sweat.gif
Looks like I will have to call or visit TM to check on my Streamyx account status once I got Unifi up and running.  biggrin.gif
Good idea, I don't know if I can do this in my case as I stay in condo, and I assume I will have to use that single copper phone line for either Unifi or Streamyx? Anyway, I will try to call the guy I signed up with him to check this out.

Many thanks!  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
yup true, dont rely on the unifi form that we submit, its happen to me...i tot tm will terminate once unifi installed. i called 100 after one week unifi installation and i found out the streamyx line was still active. they advice me to go at the nearest tm point to cancel it manually. its faster that way. they terminate the line right away.

In my case, from streamyx to maxis ftth, no need to terminate, unifi i am not sure.

But once maxis ftth is up, you no longer has access to streamyx even though your account is active. Not sure for landed property, because mine is high rise building and understandable since there is only one copper phone line available.
*
in our case, mostly tm sales people want us to terminate and register new line because they will get commission for new application....that was what installer guy told me. they said mine should only upgrade from streamyx rather than new application. if the installer guy lie, meaning i lied too....hahaha

Wow so nice
dont upgrade unifi for 30mbps and 50mbps because to many people complaint for unstable

i know VIP20 always stable then unifi 30mbps and 50mbps to much problem
batter keep VIP20

my area not available unifi so sad i using streamyx 4mbps
my area also cannot streamyx 8mbps

i waiting unifi my area then i will apply VIP20
*
now the problem occur less than early stage of migration...well mine has no problem since the installation until now. i think most that happen because of the infra at their area. u wont get vip20 anymore....if your area still doesnt have unifi but will be i think it wont be aproblem since your area will having new and latest HSBB infra.

Anyone have tested both old router with dual antenna and the new one without antenna? Any difference in performance?

Also when speed test using samsung note, if near the router the get 30 but just 3 2 meter way.getting 15 only. But with laptop same 30.
*
old router only support 35-40mbps if u put close to the it,i mean really close. if u use lan the speed is as given...abit less or abit high.
