ST50F now at 229myr, is it worth to buy it for

X4 630, Radeon 5770, 4GB RAM, 6 Hard Disks, 1 DVD Writer? Any similar price range < 250myr, Many Thanks
*
Better go for 550W to 600W. You are having 6 hard disks.

Use higher capacity power supply. It runs cooler with less load %.

Don't know yet. Even though ST50F-ES is 80Plus certified but the review says ST50F is good. ST50F-ES is not reviewed yet.

The only PSU that could power 5850 is Vantec 520W, Coolermaster EPP 550W for below RM200 and maybe Acbel 510W.

Hi sifu
core i5 750,ati HD5770 using silverstone 500watts is suitable? If using 600watts izit any advantage? Thx:)
*
AMD recommends 450W for HD5770. 500W is already more than enough. The advantage for higher rated power supply is you will have more room for upgrades, runs cooler and last longer.

Erm not Really plan to cf my grahic card in future hehe.. Should I go more than 500watts? Any brand can recommend.pls advice thx ya:)

That is up to you. Your Silverstone 500W is already more than enough. You still can add 5 hard disks with it too.

Try using only 2 fans with 1 hard disk. See if the problem is still there or not. If that fixes it then your PSU is getting old.

Well, power supply will age. It will provide less power after every year depending on how you use your computer. You are using so many other hardware that draws power and it will strain your power supply. That's the reason why I suggested only 1 hard disk with 2 fans.

I'm considering to bought a Huntkey Cable Master 450W Modular
is it good ? can support HDD4670/9600GT/ with 3 hdd ??
*
Huntkey is not recommended. This power supply is cap ayam. Go for FSP or Silverstone 400-500W instead.

Try using GTX470 or HD5870 with oced processor or 5 hard disks. That will should be good enough for your +12V rail. See whether if it blows up or burn your hardware or not.

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Apr 29 2010, 10:54 PM)
Define 'reliable'. Each person has different 'reliability need'. I mentioned somewhere recently, you buy what you need, not because of what you can achieve the most out of it that you will probably never have to step close to it. Of course there are factors that contribute to other thing like availability of more 'reliable' brands.

What's wrong with this Huntkey thing? I did use this PSU before, nope my rig didn't blow up, and if you know your PC is going to be power hungry, buy something with higher capability, no one in the right mind would force its already-known inferior PSU to power up monstrous setup to the brink of its death doh.gif And some people still use and buy PSU that is far beyond their requirement, how ironic is that? doh.gif

The keyword here is buy what you need smile.gif I guess people are too afraid of something they do not know or sure of sad.gif
*
The problem with Huntkey is THEY ADVERTISED THE WATTAGE ON THE BOX but it couldn't handle it. Any power supply makers that does that will be excluded in the recommendations. Would you like it if you can't use what the product is advertised for when you don't know anything about it?

Yes exactly, no matter how evil it may look, but consumers are responsible to educate themselves on how to read label, to understand term. A lame example would be, you buy a food, and see all these nutritions facts, sure you know they are all good, but do you know exactly what iron is and its functions? laugh.gif

Not everyone knows how to use Google. I've seen it so many times.

gonna buy Cooler Master GX 650W Power Supply...any comment?

Coolermaster GX is not recommended after seeing the reviews. If you can fork out RM29 more, you can get Xigmatek 650W NRP-MC651 modular power supply. Viewnet sells that at RM379. What is your computer spec anyway?

Guys,
Im planning to get a graphics card for my pc and I need some advice whether my PSU will be able to supply enough juice.
My specs :

Core I3 530 @ 3.6ghz
2gb Kingston DDR3 1333mhz @ 1600mhz
Asus P7H55-M
500gb WD Blue + 120gb maxtor ( both SATA )
4 fans
Enermax FMA II 460w true power
Will it be able to supply power for either one of these cards? :

Ati 4870
Ati 5570
Nvidia GTS250

Thanks!
*
GTS250 and 5570 shouldn't be a problem. ATI recommends 500W or better for 4870.

what is the difference between CM Real Power Pro and CM Silent Pro Modular in term of quality??
which one is your recommendation between CM, Vantec or Xigmatek???
*
I never bothered about CM power supplies as they are either overpriced or crappy quality. Xigmatek is the best for your choices.

Cool,

will check for it by tmr.

Not Huntkey BalanceKing 450W True Power - RM150

and Cooler Master Extreme Power 500W - 70% Efficiency - RM185 ??

Acbel E2 Power 510w - RM185 (lifetime warranty)

and Gigabytes SuperB 550watt - RM200 ?

All those power supplies are not recommended. FSP Saga+ 450W can truely deliver 450W true power.

AMD recommends 450W or better for 5770. I think your thermaltake PSU is 400W.

AMD recommends 600W or better for 4870 crossfire. I suggest you go for 650W or better.
